1. Smart car but please tell me you are going to shorten those bolts behind the drivers seat before you race it?! Cheers Andy
2. Can you please point us all in the direction of the two admin members who have sworn so it can be looked into and dealt with, if necessary, for the benefit of all the UK Dirt members? Must say, much obliged to you for talking the time to look into these matters especially as you are no longer a paid up member of the UK Dirt leagues. Thanks very much, glad to know people like you are out there. cheers Andy
3. rah he's only gone and folded the wings
4. Was it just a home video of you trying to reverse out your drive? I might be well off the mark here but that weren't him on You've Been Framed the other week was it?!
5. Wish I had thought that last night, slowed my computer down something shocking All deleted now and working fine again I hope. Download at your peril. Andy
6. shame the commentary is a second behind the action but still good to watch it again after going round Stus to watch it when it happened the first time!!
7. Click on "more from this user" they have done a few more routines including radio ga ga
8. The ones that get all four legs up in the air are well funny. Quality find Cod
9. Nice one Grant Mav already knows the score from me but I would like to publically thank him for all his time and hard work he has put into the running of the finances for UK Dirt. Without him we wouldn't have been to able to continue, simple as that. He did a faultless job and it is a real shame that he felt he had to leave but fully undestand his reasons for doing so. Thanks again mate Cheers Andy
10. Agreed Cod, if they keep on then they will find themselves with sod all to do in the evenings it seems as they wont be able to post on here anymore. Neither are UK Dirt registered and one of them has made their feelings about us quite well known on another forum before..... http://www.ovalbangerchat.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10468 You need to be logged in to view it but does make for interesting reading from someone who does seem to like to use the UK Dirt forum quite a bit Cheers Andy
11. I know it sounds obvious but have you checked that the power lead is still in the back of the speakers, sounds silly I know but I borrowed a set of speakers as my speakers would only work muffled when the button was switched off so assumed it was the speakers but went to put the other set on and found that the lead had fell out lol Dunno how the sound was getting through when they were switched off and not powered up tho! Cheers Andy
12. Very interesting thread this one!! Some may have the odd fault but I beleive that you can see ALL of them coming at you from a distance. Well said Reg! I was part of the testing team that went through most of the new models prior to this season. A lot of the new models were rejected due to the lods(?) problem ie they are only a chassis and wheels riding round in the distance and only appear when you get close. This happens in a race as well as replay mode. The A60 estate was one of the worst for it. Other things that let the models down were too low/too small/too fast/too strong etc but the first thing that was checked was the ability to see it coming at you. If you don't think it is a problem fair enough but the person using one of the chassis has a major advantage as they cant be seen on oppo until the last second and the same the other way round, someone waiting for them on oppo cant see them until the last second, especially at a dark track like Wimbledon, it is basically a set of wheels riding round the track! What's the good in that?! That's why several were rejected straight away and not used in UK Dirt. You may think that is being fussy but we dont. Really sounds like you dont mind when you jump down the throats of anyone that has some constructive criticism of your models. Not sure what you mean about you being the last person UK Dirt would use, yeah you have pissed off quite a few people in one way or another but I am sure it is just a few. From the way you talk you are anti UK Dirt so if your cars are for the free leagues why post them on here?! The above are my own opinions so if you cop one then cop one with me and not UK Dirt, I thank you. All I can see is people trying to help you make your models spot on but you aren't having any of it. Cheers Andy
13. Not had chance to try it yet but looking at the piccys a very nice model Reg well done mate Love these old Vauxhalls especially the Ventora. Cheers Andy
14. I like the sound of that idea! The Rabbits/Vermin V Squad was a great battle and made me a regular at Arena for quite a while. Proper drivers in proper cars not afraid of a proper crash. Overy, Wood, Boulden etc had just joined them and seemed to be out to prove themselves..... and they did! One thing that I will always remember came from the fat bloke who always used to be at Muddyhole and Arena, always sucking on a roll up that never seemed to be lit, you may know who I mean?! (always stood in front of the middle steps at Mildo and in front of the tavern at Arena). His beloved Squad were getting some hammer large stylee at Mildo cue the "go on the squad", "SQUAD", "SQUAD" then they got done "****ing Rabbits....(pause)...cant ****ing drive" giving them all the thumbless hitchhiker, we were in stitches at the way he said it and still come out with it now and again when we see someone witha rollup hanging out of their mouth at a funny angle lol Trouble is tho most of it is Race Video and was never that struck on them as they tended to miss quite a lot of the action or edited it wrong so that they miss the biggie which you can see is just about to happen on a lot of videos I have seen from them. Cheers Andy
15. Was talking to my Mum about this the other day and she remembered seeing an article in the Daily Mail from Malcolm Moss who is the MP for NE Cambridgshire which is where Wisbech is. You can read the full article here..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...in_page_id=1770 Totally backs up what I was saying about factory work in our area with the gangmasters and then some........ Unbelievable! Well worth a read. Cheers Andy
16. Difference being Stu as Nick says a lot of the jobs go to the immigrant workers working for a lot less money than the british. The British that go and live abroad will be financially secure. Take for example Smedleys/HL Foods in Wisbech. Once was of the best paid jobs in Wisbech, overtime was ALWAYS available and had been like for years and years. Then the gangmasters started offering lower priced foreign workers, the overtime stopped, the jobs were cut. I feel sorry for the people who were relying on their overtime money (it was more or less doubling their salary). My mother in law works there and she is struggling due to no overtime but there are some there worse off.... Been with the factory for 10/15 years and ALWAYS had overtime EVERY week so were living in a style accustomed to that salary (mortgage/car repayments etc etc). Then without warning the overtime stopped due to the gangs of immigrants now employed there. And that is just ONE factory. They are prepared to work for so much less than we can afford to. The pub across the road from work was (and pretty much still is) a British no go. The police have had running battles with the Polish or Latvians in the street when they were stopping cars outside the pub late at night and attacking ones that werent of their nationality. The police even had to take down a "No British Allowed" sign. Hard to beleive but true! Housing is another problem, I know of quite a lot of immigrants who have been given houses by the council and are just living off state benefits. Justifiable I suppose if they have had to escape war & violence but they cant all have can they? The rented accomodation at the lower end is full of poles/latvians mass sharing which makes it even harder for British people to afford anywhere to live. I am not racist but I can understand where people are coming from as certain things take the FILTERED. The government should have been a lot stricter years ago and perhaps we wouldnt have been in this situation.
17. My 2 main bets were Jack High and Philsons Run both e/w (Jack High fell but the other came 4th @ 100-1 so returned a nice bit, I took 80-1 in the morning but topped it up a bit more with the SP!). Also had a few quid each way on Silver Birch purely because of it having Silver in the name (wonder why?!!!) and got on at 40-1 in the morning so a good day was had!! Cheers Andy
18. Please tell me this isnt what I am thinking it is? To me it looks like an barrel of some sort being used as a petrol tank and is over hanging the back of the car?!
19. Nice pics! I see from your other photos that there is even less of the Firenza left since we went and had a look round in the mid 90's. You get a strange sort of feeling walking round the track and can kind of feel the atmosphere still. I bet the brambles from the back of the old Little Chef are very thick now we got snagged on quite a few when trying to get through onto the old approach road and that was 10 years ago now! Cheers Andy
