uh oh m8 doesnt sound good..... have you tried re-installing nascar heat? just in case the 1.80 patch divvied the game up somehow? Also, did you try a system restore to before the date of the problem? sometimes works for me with spurious Windows errors. I know a problem like this can be really m8 but dont lose heart. Have you got any other games that play online (World of Outlaws etc)? are they able to connect to servers? best wishes m8 ....... Wrighty

check whether your firewall has blocked anything perhaps? i've never had a problem running 1.80 patch (sorry m8)

we had 5 to start with, which i was happy with for meeting no. 1 (meant all-in, no server issues etc). We lost Joker to a modem problem which was very unfortunate, seeing as he was unable to see his 'baby born' as it were, but we happy few who raced enjoyed it and we'll be back next week (sheffield) with reinforcements, if recent intelligence reports are to be believed Results and points are now on the website here with many thanks to Loopy for the quick update Outlaws is officially underway....... free fun on a saturday cheers ........... is the problem to do with insufficient memory to run the game? are you end-it-all'ing? if you have background apps running that might hamper it - also clear out internet histories etc to make sure your PC has all the temporary space it needs. also try a defrag (thats a long shot mind lol) mebbes...... cheers .......... Hi Mouse, Just so's you know, the Ping is a measure of how well (quickly) your computer is communicating with another (in this case, the server at Jolt). 'Ping too high' can be a nasty fault to track but theres a few suggestions..... If you're on a 56k connection, make sure you check the 'tweaking' guide on www.ukdirt.co.uk - theres lots of hints there for your connection quality. Get some spyware software (do a search for AD-AWARE in your preferred search engine). Spyware plants itself in your computer and uses your bandwidth so you can't get a strong connection with spyware running. The same can apply for all manner of trojans and viruses, so if you arent already running anti-virus, get some (AVG is a good free programme with free download and updates) get END-IT-ALL and check you have no background applications running that might slow your pc down if you're running a firewall, make sure that isnt stopping the communication back and forth. etc etc etc and so it goes on lol. Read the tweaking guide and ask as many questions as you need to to get into Jolt its worth the hassle i hope the final alternative is Broadband but that depends on how big your pockets are - as the old adage goes 'how fast can you go? how fast can you afford?') yes and no - thats the correct version of the 1.80 patch, but if you install this and then try to enter Jolt you'll get an 'older version' warning in the server lobby that stops you from entering. Best solution is to keep 1.72e (our normal patch), 1.73 (upgrade) and 1.80 (final patch) all handy in a folder - you can install the required patch over the top of the patch thats in as many times as you want (i.e. you can go from 1.80 to 1.73 to 1.72e in that order) but whenever you join an online server, you need the same patch as the host installed. hope this helps ........ Morning all, Further to the first round of the Outlaw series (starting this Saturday), Kev has kindly agreed that we can use this forum for the collection of skins for the abov. Please note, at the moment i'm looking for LCH skins ONLY, as we'll be doing a full rods skinpack for the Michael meeting, so we'll have 2 outlaw meets using the current UK Dirt rods skinpack. If you have a skin already in the UK Dirt LCH mod from 2004, please post here for me to copy that skin into the new skinpack for LCH (also please note we are NOT using the UK Dirt LCH installer, we're using the 'old' LCH mod due to a technical issue with the UK Dirt mod). So.....skin links here please. Series starts this weekend - there will be novice cars available for LCH of course, but if you have a car you wish to use please say so here. cheers and best wishes ....... Wrighty

or run any skinpack on your PC - theres a link to clickteam's site on every installer (start it off and then cancel it - the links in the exit page i think) - i've used the free version from the start - the wizard creator is excellent

you need to have the first UK Dirt rods mod installed before you install V2 m8 - V2 isnt a stand-alone mod - get them both from www.ukdirt.co.uk , delete the UKDirtNatrod folder you have now and install both in the correct order

I remembered something that might be of use - i have had the 'black screen' once that i recall and i seem to remember that the game was being 'hung' by my firewall awaiting clearance to allow the game to access the internet - if your firewall allows 'trusted' applications, go into your documents and settings area from C: (you may have to unhide files) and allow heat.bin as a trusted program (do a search to see if it is already on the machine - i think its in a temp folder in documents and settings) hope this helps ......... hmmmmmm don't sound right - if you're getting an error log from the game (a notepad document) please post it here. also, when using the patches and mod files from the add-ons disc, i would recommend you drag/copy the files from the CD to your desktop and install them from the desktop - this does NOT apply to the Nascar Heat disc, only the add-ons let us know about the nascar heat error log (if any) please ........ Hi Nige, First things first, delete the Nascar Heat folder inside the Hasbro Interactive folder in 'program files' Install nascar heat (use the setup option to run from HD - the 260mb option) - check it works Install the 'no-cd' multipatch - check the game runs without the cd install the 1.72e patch - check the game says 1.72e in the corner of the single player/multiplayer first screen install a mod from the add-ons disc - check it works let me know from there ......
