Did think that I had better get my stabalizers out also!!!

How will driver grades be decided not only for the beginning of the season but also for those who join during the season ??? Maybe drivers have to do five laps prior to the meeting to show competence and their grade decided from that (as they may have to submit all grade of skins). Just a thought

edited due to drumbsticks reply being 10 seconds before mine!

What if the guy/gal doesn't know you are a lap down defends his/her position when you are trying to pass without harming his/her race and when/if you do make a safe pass they bury you thinking you are on the same lap!!! It can also depend on whether you have something left to race for - if your race is over drop back else do what you feel comfortable doing, all drivers react differently, its just a case of weighing them up then doing what you feel is right at the time. Me personally, I would pull over and allow the lapped driver through if I felt he wouldn't hinder me when he goes by (assuming I knew he was a lap down) thus giving me more breathing space to circulate without added pressure. If I was being lapped and still in the race I would more than likely be stubborn, but wouldn't intentionally damage that drivers race (unless of course I had a grudge ). Even in heat I try and stay on the lead lap (ie not allowing the leader to pass me) so that I may gain some places on the last lap if drivers challenging for places spin or crash out. I can understand your annoyance Mr.Beef, but it happens.

Don't think they will help too much but there are a couple of photo's on my site : http://www.briscaf1stoxpics.co.uk/Tracks/Hednesford.htm

With the exception of my graphics card overheating and causing the graphics to be misplaced on my screen, I quite enjoyed the racing. Happy to have led a heat and the Final, but the same old story for white tops, I couldn't hold on as errant cars caused me to spin and loose ground - BUT thats Stock Car Racing. Found the contact abit annoying at times (not direct hits), these caused my car to spin unnecessarily, (especially when I'm trying to hang onto the lead!!!) but over time peoples judgement will increase and these spins will become less. It is very difficult to return your car back the racing way after a spin without getting in the way of oncoming drivers and then making sure you don't immediately spin again with accellerating too quickly!!!! All in All

Must've been the graphics card getting hot as I switched off left it awhile and all seems ok now - Thanks Paulp

dx9 is in config Might be overcooked - PC been on all day - tried updating drivers but still no change. Funny how it was ok straight after the update of v1255 but not now. Suppose I should let it cool and see later on this evening - might as well go watch Top Gear or the Rugby World Cup!
-
Where would I find them to re-install them ??
-
I followed the instructions for installation of v1255 and reloaded the game. Ran the game and all was fine (couldnt see any difference to v1250!!) Quit the game and an hour later I get this :- [attachmentid=20168] What can be done to correct this ??? When I went into the server the track graphics were a mess and I couldnt tell what was what. Any help will be appreciated Else another week goes by without racing a meeting

My lag should be no more!!!! I have purchased and installed a new graphics card today dunno if its better yet as not been online, but at least the pc still works after I have tinkered with it From memory it was a GeForce 7300 - 512 mb and it cost £49.99 (Discounted from £59.99). So hopefully I will be able to "Race" on Sunday and officially get in peoples way!!!! ps Many Thanks to Hutch (and others) for their help and advice in assertaining my problem and sorting it. Cheers Guys

Thanks for the advice guys - will look into it but may have to ask Santa nicely to pop one down the chimney
-
I think I have covered everything Hutch See what you can make of that. I have virtually decided to re-format the hard drive and start again, but its just a pain in the rear and so time consuming. Hopefully it won't be in vain. Cheers Guys for the help.

Looks like I am going to have to leave rFactor for a bit as I am having alot of pc problems with it at the moment. Prior to the meeting I ran "House Doctor" for virus' and it found one in my rFactor setup program and deleted the virus along with any files that it had affected. Thus now I cannot re-install rfactor unless I re-download the setup files. I note with interest how many people are saying their pc's crashed and couldn't make a heat of theirs, so maybe the problems are not just confined to my PC. I found that if I changed any of the configurations, my game crashed me back to the desktop then I was unable to restart rFactor from my desktop icon. I tried to setup a new profile name (from Maverick to Mav-525) - Game crashed I lowered all the display settings and then reduced my "Visible Cars" down from 18 to 6 - Game crashed (and I still cannot re-launch rFactor hence why I had to withdraw from the meeting). But my main concern (if I can fix the above) was that I can race practice with lots of cars no problem, but as soon as I went to "Race" the game went laggy and jumpy and my car was uncontrollable due to the screen not keeping pace with my actions. I understand the help offered but having yet another pc upgrade to cope with "racing" is disappointing. Only difference to racing in practice to racing in a race that I could see was the race was run at night. Would this contribute to the lagginess ??? Anyway all in all, I will have to regrettablly withdraw from the series. So yet again Mav_525 is retiring !!!!

I agree Welly. McClaren can't afford to loose the marketing rights on Hamilton, which will not be as much if he is not World Champion. (They have to claw back the 50m Fine somehow!!). Plus Ron Dennis won't want the extra cost of painting double figure numbers on his cars next season if Hamilton doesn't win!! ( I guess McClaren would be given 21 & 22 next season). Ron Dennis surely can't let or won't let Alonso win the title, and will be hoping that Hamilton will just cruise round enough to stay out of trouble and finish the race. IF Hamilton goes out then you will see the tactics you say for Alonso - fuel rig on too long etc, but if Kimi is leading ????? Should be a tense finish (although it should be all over now!!). Bring it on

Thats blitzed all my lap times I think you are on the pace with those times from what I have seen. But as you say consistency is the key not speed
