Mav #525 Booking In. Welcome to the White top Warriors - Chevy. Spike, Big Al & myself have a private points/race battle to every one else, making it enjoyable for us - So see you on the grid

I have entered it, but it did not come up with a league automatically like Fantasy League did. I think Kevin Hinnells set this up, so he may need to activate his account for us to join. If not I can set one up.

Guys, lets get this straight - I know I am renowned for "moaning" and cannot shrug off this tag, but I would be greatful if you would actually read my posts as they are written, not with the pre-concept that I am moaning. Iron, no need for apologies m8, I was simply saying that within one lap after you went out, everytime I got the car straight and set off there you were again recovering yourself and I spun from hitting you again!!! This happened 3 times before you got away leaving me on the tyres, which I did myself due to too much throttle after spinning when I hit you. It's a racing incident and whether I was 1st or 15th, it happens and I will try again next time Just to clear this one up Mav, ive watched the replay of heat 2 & "hit" one was a gentle tap in which you barely moved & managed to steer round the bend unhindered, certainly nothing that you wouldnt see countless times in every race, & the second hit was actually on jimmy 259 & it was his car that collided with you. Rfactor is very competitive but fair, & these were genuine attempts to gain places, not red mist coming down pile -ins. Lets not go down the whinging route as thats what ruined Heat for me, by all means make constructive criticism, but please dont state i spoiled a heat because that clearly wasnt the case. Matty, don't get defensive m8, you obviously read it as a moan but my comment about "spoilt" wasn't reference to the hits being hard, it was a reference to the fact that after these hits, I knew I wasn't going to get away like I did in the first heat, and that I sustained damage didn't help, so early in the race. Over the meetings I have done, I know you are a hard hitter and someone to move over for, if I wish to finish in the points, but I didn't get the chance to this race and thus "spoilt" my race.

Thanks for the mentions guys Really chuffed with 2nd, wasn't brave enough to challenge Jimmy for 1st as I am still learning how to drive, let alone hitting cars - thats for later!!!!! Second heat was spoilt by Matty #300. Obviously was angry at something as two consecutive bends he piled in at speed, relegating whoever was infront down the charts. I gained damage and the car wouldn't handle after that. Final was chaos, I tried to find my way through the spinning cars only to get tapped and spin myself. Got back up to 10th, but came across the #288 & #39 incident and #288 stopped me passing him three times in one lap, thus relegating me to 15th. GN was a surprise - I lost a few places in the early laps but managed to keep tight one bend and pass the cars back and stayed in 5th fending off those who challenged me (Sorry Mr.Beef!!!) but delighted to have finished in top 10. I relly hope I get Skegness as if I am drawn at KL, then I will more likely give my place up as I am unable to drive "safely" in such an important race. Well done to Spike, its going to be a good contest between us as we have different styles. Hope Big Al keeps it up too, as we have our own "White" battles during the races!!!

For anyone who didn't know, like me until tonight, I found out by accident how to look at your lap times after a practice session or after a race. When you are back in the garage/pits after practice, the display shows you your name and the fastest lap you did during practice. If you highlight your name and right click the display changes to all your laps completed in that session. It breaks it down into 3rds so you can see what part of the lap you are slow at, therefore requiring more attention to get it right. If you have then changed your setup and gone out again, it puts a space in and shows you them afterward, thus you can compare your two setups to each other to see if you have improved or not. ALSO : After a race and the result is shown on your screen, click on your name (or indeed anyones name) then right click, the display will then show you each lap of that race, detailing position, lap time by each lap etc. I saw I went from 6th to 14th in one lap tonight so its not all good news!!! lol Hope this "find" helps others, as I will certainly use it from now on.

First time on a wheel, and it did make a difference. Lap times were marginally faster with a wheel but the biggest advantage is the consistancy a wheel gives. I enjoyed the meeting after a dismal heat meeting, and in my first heat was very unfortunate to catch a recovering LeeK with 3 or 4 laps to go when sat in 6th place - ended up 11th and reversing over the line to finish!!! Second heat, yellows off to a flyer and quickly slipped down the order, but held it together to finish only 1 lap down. Final and GN were hectic as usual but found myself being able to compete better and trying to keep my places rather than moving over, but allowing lapping drivers room. It made a difference and points were scored in the GN so definately made a Semi Grid!!!! Having watched the replays, I feel that I am getting there bit by bit and now look forward to Skegness next week ps Well Done Big Al in praccy - that was some hits that you gave

As I have raced heat for over five years, I have accumulated setups that I can drive, so after a days work I can almost turn up anywhere on spec and race. rFactor is a different story, I have no real setups that I am confident with, so after a days work, I have to sit down and practice, not really knowing what I am changing or whether its having a real effect on my poor driving. Unfortunately I do not have the time to sit for an hour or two, tweaking this and tweaking that and mostly get bored easily if I can't do something. Therefore for me rFactor is going to take a year at least before I am comfortable in what I am doing. Shale racing on keys is difficult, and good on Spike for giving it a go and getting 4 points, and I know people will say get a wheel, truth is I have one, but just don't feel comfortable using it. Again I may in time adjust and learn to adapt to a wheel, but again I loose faith easily if things go wrong and give up, going back to what I am familiar with. I tried Kings Lynn for an hour on the sunday before the meeting and just could not stop the back end coming right round exiting the bends. Therefore I didn't feel that I would do anything in the meeting other than get in peoples way and ruin their races in the process - already been moaned at because of this at other meetings!! I am not keen on the way cars handle under contact at slower (my racing) speed, my car spins far to easily after being hit, yet watching those drivers racing at full speed, they seem to shrug off the contact and remain in control - again this could be in the setup of the car, I don't know. The structure to the times in general are not a problem, but I take my daughter to her swimming class for 6pm, whilst I use the gym. She finishes her class at 7pm and takes an age to get changed, whereby I don't get home until 7:30pm. Having had no meal, feeling knackered and sweaty, doesn't help me want to race the early meeting, nor having been fed, relaxed and clean, help me want to race the 9pm meeting as I am feeling tired and sleepy by then!!!!! If the meetings appeal to me then I ask my wife to take my daughter swimming, and use the night racing. I don't want to do this on a regular basis else my payment to the Leisure Centre would be wasted and considering I pay the equivalent to a years Jolt Fee every month to the Leisure Centre, I think I should use it as often as I can!!! Before you say go on another night, I train on Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday, with five a side on friday with snooker on wednesday, leaving only monday (don't want to go due to going on sun and tue!) and saturday - my chill day!!! On the whole, rFactor is hard for the beginner, but as with everything else it will come in time, and I will endeavour to keep at it, unless I again retire
-
Not expecting the league table to change much as people will have virtually the same players in for the final. It all depends on who you place as your captain (God I wish I had chosen Lahm as my captain in the semis!!) So I think that Dave will have a late wedding Present come Sunday night. Well Done to all for participating.
-
Many Happy Returns of the day!!!! Hope you celebrate your 50th in style whilst on holiday - ENJOY Are you entitled to a reduced rate in Jolt Fee now for being a UK Dirt Pensioner????

Walker, Kev is away at present, but I have asked him the same thing, as whilst I was refreshing the F2 website, several links to videos didnt work. Kev replied that the facility was very rarely used (apart from when the craze first hit), as people were uploading them to YOU TUBE instead. The files did take up a vast amount of space also, therefore the section was never transferred to the upgraded forum. I cannot remember whether he said that the files are lost forever or are on a backup disk somewhere. I will scour my backup disks to see if I can add the F2 ones to the F2 site. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies guys. I shan't tell you what lap times I can do - It will scare you Needless to say, I am sure I will be seeing plenty of you from various different angles

Been trying out the new track which is superb, (excellent work Wrighty & co), but who put the bends at the end of the straight!!!! I am fine going down straight, but having to turn it around and come back down the other straight is a laugh I even had to restart my testing once because I couldn't even get the car out of the pits and onto the track Anyway reason for my post is can someone let me know how slow I am please - I don't want to be a roadblock as the bends seem rather tight, so any idea on "Ordinary" lap times, and then some lap times that allow for one full 360 spin Should be a good night and really looking forward to the carnage Spike, Big Al and me can cause from white

I am hoping my starting 11, actually stay fit and play as I won't be able to do any transfers until 16th June - I am away on holiday!!!! So good luck to my boys and take advantage while you can chaps cos I shall be back and scoring loads of points in the next rounds!!!! Good Luck everyone and COME ON "Ing Grrr Lund"""

I'm in!!! c'mon "In Grrr Lund"

Sorry Al but you are on your own Thursday. I have spent the last hour trying the track out, (which doesn't look like the track that I remember), and have spent more time going backwards on the grass than forwards on the track. I don't have the patience to sit for hours "tweaking" and as I know not what each thing does in relation to the car, I have no idea what to do to correct what it/me is doing wrong. Tarmac seems easier so thats when we will meet again Al. I am aware there is a tutorial, but until I have time to sit down and properly digest, then I'll pick my meetings based on what I can do. All the best Al

To be honest, I can't say either way whether I enjoyed my first competitive meeting in rFactor or not. Reasons being, I wasn't in the best of moods following on from a pitiful Heat meeting, problems with rFactor pre meeting and not holding out much hope as my setup is woeful and very minimal online practice. First heat started at the back and surprised myself by not spinning out during the race nor getting in anyones way when I was being lapped. Second heat started with the whites, but due to my "unknown" problem with rolling laps (car turns sharp left on its own - happens in heat also) I was stranded on the kerb and couldn't move. Whence I finally got going, again making no mistakes as such finished the race last but proud of myself. Final started off really well until Johno hit tyres and rolled collecting me in the process and hey presto last again at the end of the race, albeit Matty had stopped well earlier. GN spoilt the evening for me due to it being a bumper fest and I was battered all over the track, no chance of keeping it together and again finished last. Being a second off the pace I couldn't capitalise on other peoples errors, but that will come in time. Also being on keys may hinder me, but I am most comfortable with keys so happy to stick with that for the time being. Thanks to MOR for getting my skins in the game, and to Dan for his help getting me racing and to Johno for agreeing to let me start as white!!! Might see you at Bradford if my setup work improves
-
Cheers MOR Tonight may not be a straight forward as I would have wished - I had to re-install patch 1255 on my laptop and this triggers off a re-activation. I have used all my licences so I am awaiting an e-mail to grant me a few more licences. I have 55 mins Free Trial left, and hope I can connect and race using those minutes - gonna be tight - but nothing ventured nothing gained!!!!! Oh and to add to it I have not been able to practice online yet (due to the above) so it will definately be a baptism of fire for me tonight

Happy Birthday Albz

I keep receiveing spam e-mails via this group, and however hard they try I don't want to earn $3,000 !!!!! As there is a very slim chance that we require this group ever again, anyone know how to delete an account from it, bearing in mind that it is some 5 years since I last used it and hence cannot remember my login nor my password. I have tried the "Account reminder" button, but the questions that it asks - I know not those answers either!!! So just wondering if the "Group" - ukdirt@yahoogroups.com can be deleted ???? thus stopping the spam e-mails.

Well Done Binny!!! I enjoyed this season, but just couldn't make any headway due to one reason - Ronaldo. I couldn't afford him with the team I wanted and other teams just made him captain and he did the business on the pitch this season. My choices of captains often let me down also - ie I chose Terry for Sunday's game, I chose Tevez when Fergi rested him, I chose Torres when Rafa rested him and so on !!!! Never mind as I said been good this season - Just wish that Cider had chosen Dunne as his captain this week - that would have been some score MINUS 12 !!!!! Hope everyone will play next season - good little league we have

Happy Birthday Neal - Have a great day

I am sure I have the .tex file somewhere - I will look it out. Yes you are right Haadee#525, the sidepods were smaller in real life, so I had to "Blank" out the Online sidepods. The only way of doing this was to colour them black.

Yep it shook everything here too. (Grantham) Several people went out in the street and couldn't believe what had happened. Not as violent as some areas had but nevertheless quite frightening!!!!

I have felt that sentiment for a long time about "United Kingdom" and it would be a good thing for our PM to come out and say it. Unfortunately he won't due to the constant bowing to the USA, constant trial of pleasing other nations and the continuous short-sightendness of what the "Real" Britons feel/want, that blights our Government. We are a UNITED Kingdom, so UNITED we should stay !!!! You can get UK Dirt in Austrailia right???

In my current situation a 7:30pm start would be touch and go, dependant on traffic in town as to whether I could get home in time. (My daughter swims from 6pm to 7pm). This would mean however, no practice time pre meeting, and maybe miss my first heat but most of all no TEA !!!!! lol If I was to race in a 7:30pm start meeting, I wouldn't necessarily race the 9pm meeting and visa versa (dependant on whether I chose Heat or rFactor to race), I would like to be confident that I am going to get a full meeting ie not cancel the Grand Nationals. If they were cancelled, to allow the next mod to start at 9pm or to prevent a very late finish, this to me is not acceptable, as those drivers attending are penalised in National Points and Grand National Points championships. I have often gone home from real meetings disgusted that I have paid for a full meeting and been shortchanged, let alone what a long travelling driver feels like. If the plan of 7:30pm / 9pm goes ahead I personally would like assurances that each meeting will be concluded even if they ran "overtime". If Grand Nationals are to be cancelled during the season then I feel that a Grand National Championship should not be run.
