  1. We're in discussion for the 2013 season, in due course the fixtures will be released. Hopefully some time before the start of the season. Sorry I cannot be more specific.
  2. Gooooo Tiggers! Was a very enjoyable meeting, well done to the last minute assembled Tiggers team. I don't think anybody expected us to take the win against the dominant Rebels, very enjoyable racing.
  3. In the past few seasons the F1 Admin team has suffered a few significant departures and we feel now is the time to try and introduce some fresh faces to the challenge. We have approached a few members directly (for various reasons) but would also like to open the opportunity up to anybody who is keen or feels they could bring something more to the team. The structure of the team is fairly relaxed and currently nobody is limited or locked into specific roles. The only thing that is important to us is that new folks would remain relatively active (but that doesn’t mean 100% attendance or involvement is required). The intention for 2013 is that I will continue as the head of the group. As a general point the admin team is currently made up of the following active members: DanSkin, Fasttrack, TomD, Grasser, Hooty, Matty, Corny. For those who haven’t been involved, or thought much about the admin side before here are a few of the things that happen behind the scenes: Running meetings Servers Skinpacks Disciplinary Points Gradings Promotion (writing and publishing results, previews and reviews for websites, facebook, etc) Season organisation (fixtures, rule changes, etc) Championship race/meeting/series organisation Etc… So the floor is open for anybody who is interested. Please drop me a PM, maybe include some words about how you think you could help. We’ll see what the response is like, and get back to you over the next few weeks. Thanks for reading!
  4. I would recommend you look at old skinpacks to see the answer. For example on tarmac I might have 236wainX.veh 236wainX.dds (this is the red roof skin) Then a folder called 236wainXSkins which will contain 236wainX_white.dds 236wainX_yellow.dds 236wainX_blue.dds So that these skins will show up as extra selectable for the 1 car. So 8 different .dds files, but only 2 different .veh files.
  5. Here is the thread from the start of last season. (This season will be similar). http://www.ukdirtforum.com/index.php?showtopic=37176
  6. Well done Jack! Very good fun. Thank you Grasser and Stumby!
  7. Nice preview, good luck folks!
  8. Well I thought it was nice that someone took some time and effort to take some screenshots and do something different with them (even if i did forget to say it at the time), thanks Matty!
  9. Well done to Liam - taking the final win and securing a last minute place on the Champion of Champions grid. And congratulations to Grasser for top scoring. The final result sealed the National Points Championship for me (DanSkin), with a final gap of 35 points to TomD in second. 13. This Thursday we take to the track at Coventry for the final meeting of the 2012 UKDirt F1 season, which will see the conclusion to the National Points battle. In addition, throughout the grades drivers are battling for their positions to determine the 2013 season starting grades. Thursdays meeting will run the normal format. After the allcomers race(s) there will be the Champion of Champions race to finish the season. This race is none point scoring, 20 laps and gridded in grade order with highest point scorers at the back of their grades. The Champion of Champions race is first open to those drivers who have won a meeting final over the course of the 2012 season. Meeting final winners (up to 22 drivers): 8 Tosh 65 Ali P 92 Hoggy 98 Bailey 112 TomD 115 Michael Green 122 Craig 129 Sije 137 MoR 151 Dode 184 Chevykiller 221 Spike 233 Grasser 236 DanSkin 249 Stoxjack 254 Samwit 262 Harmen 291 Marten 292 Marco 305 JakieJnr 315 Mike 380 Daveyboy 391 Corny Additional significant winners: 525 Maverick (Whites and Yellows) Travel was the 2011 Champion of Champions but will not feature this season, while Grasser, Mike and Corny are all former winners that make the grid this time around. Interestingly (considering the last few previews) neither TomD nor DanSkin feature on the list of previous winners with DanSkin having made it to second last year, and TomD third in the year before. Corny may have some fondness for the title having held it a hat trick of times over the Heat and rFactor eras. The list takes us back eight months to March and the start of the season when Mike and Dode took their only final wins of the season in the opening weeks. We’re also reminded of a dominant spell of three final wins for Harmen around the time of his Irish Championship glory. Green was another back to back final winner, taking charge at the European midweek-weekender winning finals at Arena Essex and Northampton. Grasser followed a few weeks later monopolising the meeting finals at both of the Semi-Final meetings. Looking at the National Points table there are a few notable absences, in particular Kane and Dodge who have kept themselves around the sharp end of the table challenging for the superstar grade or getting involved in the shootout respectively. Johno has amassed a healthy number of race wins this season but did not sneak a final win into the mix, although he is a driver hindered by less regular appearances lately. This year we seem to have a long list of final winners, and with little else to add in the way of championship winners, I hope we’re able to keep a good few drivers around after the allcomers race at the end of the meeting and get a respectable grid for this one! I’m sure Maverick would be pleased to see his name on the list of possible additional entrants as Whites and Yellows Champion, could he be tempted out of retirement for one more special appearance?
  14. I will be in for some practise on the 11th!
  15. At this Thursdays Birmingham meeting, the qualified drivers will compete for the Grand National Championship. Compared to the last few weeks of inherently dangerous battling with the post and wire tracks at Yarmouth (Tarmac Masters) and Belle Vue (Shootout Finale) some will be pleased to race at a safer track, not that I would expect the racing to be any less brutal! Drivers have amassed points from a maximum of 30 possible Grand National races over the course of this season. For each race, the drivers scores have been put through a multiplication system (white x2.5, yellow x2, blue x1.5 & red/ss x1). The grid will be formed from the first 22 available drivers on the day, with the highest points scorer on pole (no gaps). The race will be 20 laps in length, will run before the meeting and be non-point scoring. (A normal meeting format will follow). Grid based on top 22 drivers: 112 - 236 300 - 527 249 - 254 238 - 525 291 - 237 560 - 151 600 - 48 115 - 515 184 - 39 92 - 262 305 - 277 Reserves in order: 233, 315, 221, 33, 292, 3, 391, 338, 122, 107, 129, 65, 98, 517, 137, 516, 504, 172, 450, 285, 380, 255, 41, 341, 419, 437, 87, 31, 21, 8, 550, 16, 518, 520, 164, 495, 290, 488, 456, 330, 365, 227, 431, 152, 131, 125, 256, 37, 67, 90, 235, 231, 961 TomD secured the pole position a fortnight ago with a healthy lead in the points over DanSkin, the other half of the front row. The pair also lead the way in grand national wins this season with 6 and 5 respectively. Matty edged out Fasttrack at the last meeting to take the inside of row two, making it an all blue top affair. Stoxjack returns to racing, qualifying on the inside of row three, while on his outside Samwit has capitalised on the available multipliers to be the first yellow grade on the grid. In similar fashion, current white grade drivers Rickyljames and Big Al qualify, making the fifth and seventh rows respectively. Chevykiller and Grasser took the meeting finals at Birmingham so far this season, and the latter will qualify due to the suspension of some of the direct qualifiers. So undoubtedly these two drivers will start the race with some confidence and positive memories, although with both of them towards the rear of the field it will require a big effort to race to the front. From the whole Grand National Championship grid, looking at direct qualifiers, 6 of the 22 drivers qualify without having won a grand national race this season – Fasttrack despite this has qualified well, while Dodge, Lithgow, Bigal, Harmen and Southy also make the grid with this distinction. For TomD this will be his second attempt to retain the Grand National Championship for successive seasons having had an unsuccessful defence last year of his 2009 title, coming home second to Dazza! He could potentially be joined on the grid by a whole gaggle of former champions who are still (more or less) active racers: Dazza (2010), LeeK (2009), Daveyboy (2008) MoR (2006), Grasser (2005), and Travel (2001). Good luck to all participants!
  16. Well done Gary
