UKDirt F1 Stockcars - Birmingham - 8:30PM - 2 August 2012 World Championship Semi Final #2 As shown here, the Semi Final grids for 2012 have been confirmed. In the run to the 2012 World Championship TomD #112 topped the qualifying points, pipping DanSkin #236 by just 3 points, both being clear of the remaining drivers by over 100 points. Defending World Champion Mike #1 headed the pack followed by dode #151 and Johno #3. TomD picked the Kings Lynn Semi Final, which he went on to win last week and so the grid for the Birmingham Semi Final lines up as follows: DanSkin’s consistent performances over the qualifying rounds guaranteed him a pole position for one or the other of the Semi Finals – his best score coming at new addition Yarmouth in May this year which included a second place in the final, his only final win this season has been in defence of the British title at Coventry. Taking the remaining front row spot is defending World Champion Mike #1, his best score by far was picked up on the slippy stuff at Mildenhall with significantly lower scoring on tarmac than might have been expected. Recent troubles could hamper him, but no doubt he will be there and setting his sights on a good position for Skegness. Row two belongs to dodge #560 and LeeK #39, with the preferred inside position going to dodge - like DanSkin his best points haul came at Yarmouth in May and in fact the bulk of his scoring comes from the tarmac rounds. LeeK is one of only a few drivers to have raced every qualifying round and has picked up most of his points on the shale this season. Dutchmen Harmen #262 and Chevkiller #184 take row 3, both having scored most of their points on the tarmac. Harmen took the meeting final at Nutts Corner in April on his way to his best scoring, while Chevykiller had put in a similar performance (final and best points) at Birmingham earlier in the month. Returning driver Tinman #48 lines up alongside fast track #527 on row 4, both having scored well at the shale rounds. Tinman with a second position in the meeting final at Coventry in the first qualifying round of the season on his way to his best score and fast track coming away with a healthy haul from the final round at Belle Vue despite only managing a 10th place in the meeting final! Rows 5 and 6 include qualifying round final winners Marco #292 and MoR #137 (Mildenhall and Yarmouth respectively). With the exception of Marco, this group of drivers all had their best qualifying rounds on tarmac and scored in the high forties at those meetings - Kane #238 at Birmingham and Samwit #254 at Nutts Corner. Perhaps Kane will be the most pleased with this semi final draw having already picked up a few race wins at this track earlier in the year, however this group has the makings of an excellent mid pack battle! Further back we have the Northampton qualifying round meeting final winner Daveyboy #380 and Janharm #107 who scored heavily, with some wins, on the tarmac of Ipswich. No doubt both drivers will look to make quick progress through the pack. Newcomer Ricko #341 also joins towards the back of the field, along with travel #365 being the drivers to have qualified for this semi final from only 3 appearances. Good luck to everyone racing! Please note that as Drumbstick #41 was called to race in the Kings Lynn Semi Final the reserves list is now as follows: 290 41 391 515 131 233 21 150 164 90 129 16 31 419 550 495 450 124 126 255 518 8 29 87 456 This semi final looks likely to have a few non-starters requiring reserve drivers. Please please please book in by 7.30PM tomorrow as this will be the final cut off for arranging the Semi Final grid! Currently the following semi final drivers are NOT booked in to race: 292 380

UKDirt F1 Stockcars – Kings Lynn – 8:30PM – 26 July 2012 World Championship Semi Final #1 As shown here, the Semi Final grids for 2012 have been confirmed. In the run to the 2012 World Championship TomD #112 topped the qualifying points, pipping DanSkin #236 by just 3 points, both being clear of the remaining drivers by over 100 points. Defending World Champion Mike #1 headed the pack followed by dode #151 and Johno #3. TomD picked the Kings Lynn Semi Final and so the grid forms up as follows: TomD’s consistent performances over the qualifying rounds guaranteed him a pole position for one or the other of the Semi Finals – his best score coming at Sheffield in April this year which included a second place in the final, he also took the meeting final at the Belle Vue qualifying round earlier this month. Taking the remaining front row spot is dode #151 – having just returned to superstar grade he will be looking for a result on the road to replacing his old European roof with a nice shiney gold one. His best qualifying score came on the slippy stuff at Mildenhall, so perhaps this bodes well. Row two belongs to Johno #3 and stoxjack #249, the former finding his best scoring on tarmac this season while the latter has been more at home on shale picking up two heats and a grand national on his way to his best qualifying score at Kings Lynn earlier in the year. Another driver picking up more points on the tarmac holds the inside of row 3, green #115 however he did also pick up a few race wins at Kings Lynn. Outside of row 3 sits Spike #221, no doubt he will be very pleased with this semi final draw having taken 3 heats and the final at the Kings Lynn meeting back in May! Bailey #98 has made it all the way to row 4 in just 6 qualifying rounds and starts alongside the new European Champion Marten #291. Both drivers found their best scoring form at Ipswich at the end of June when Bailey took the meeting final with Marten finishing in third place. Rows 5 and 6 include the Coventry qualifying round final winner hoggy #92, as well as Mattyaspin #300 and Lithgow #600 who had healthy meetings last time at Kings Lynn scoring 21 and 46 points respectively. Southy #277 is also a part of this pack, he's a driver certainly looking more at home on the shale with heavy scoring at the Coventry and Belle Vue qualifying rounds. The mid-pack includes Sheffield qualifying round final winner jakiejnr #305 and towards the back of the grid we find the two drivers to have qualified for this Semi Final with the fewest number of meetings attended (3) - Timm #504 and dougieford #520. Timm had a profitable meeting at Coventry earlier this year while dougieford picked up most of his points at the June Northampton meeting. Good luck to everyone racing!

Just to clarify, I have adjusted the first post to reflect correct reserves list (i.e. not including people who haven't raced a wqr!) and it is now definitely in the correct order (points, best score, meetings att.).

World Final Meeting
-
Hi folks! As confirmed at this weeks meeting, the top WCQR points scorer TomD has picked the Kings Lynn semi final... So here at the grids! Reserves in order: 290 41 391 515 131 233 21 150 164 90 129 16 31 419 550 495 450 124 126 255 518 8 29 87 456 The Semi Final races are 20 laps, will run between the heats and meeting final, and are scored as a final for national points purposes. The top 10 finishers qualify for the World Final, with pole position determined by a coin toss between the Semi winners. Reserves will be used to make each semi final up to 20 cars if needed, from those available at the meeting. The Consolation Semi Final is open to all drivers who failed to qualify from their Semi Finals, then drivers who could not race their semi final, and then by drivers down the reserve list to make up a 20 car race. Top 4 finishers qualify.

UKDirt F1 Stockcars – Arena Essex – 8:30PM – 11 July 2012 European Championship Last Chance Qualification Tarmac Masters Qualifying Round 3 UKDirt F1 Stockcars – Northampton – 8:30PM -12 July 2012 European Championship This week is the season’s only double header of Wednesday and Thursday night racing for the F1s - contesting the 2012 UKDirt F1 Stockcars European Championship. The European Championship race is held before the normal meeting at Northampton on Thursday and is made up of the top 16 available national points scorers and the top 6 points scorers from the Wednesday meeting who have not already qualified today on national points position. The direct qualifiers for the European are: (top 16 available from this list) (booked in are bold) 112 TomD 236 DanSkin 1 Mike 151 dode 262 Harmen 560 Dodge 184 Chevykiller 249 stoxjack 238 Kane_M 115 michael green 3 Johno 39 LeeK 527 fast track 291 Marten 48 Tinman 137 MoR Reserves: 292, 277, 221, 254, 92, 98, 600, 300, 305, 525, 107, 380, 122, 41 And then from last chance qualifiers: (top 6 available from this list, unless already qualified by national points position) 600 277 285 305 33 221 reserves 237, 87, 391, 8, 122, 341, 517, 16, 255, 172, 330, 518, 227, 520 Defending champion dode #151 has been climbing the points charts in the last few weeks, moving up to 4th position in the national points and securing himself a front row start in the semi finals later this month. Last year he took a dominant win at Arena Essex and no doubt will be looking for a repeat this Thursday. We’ve already raced at Northampton twice this season – michael green #115 took the final back at the start of the season in March, while davey boy #380 was triumphant early in June. #115 has already secured his place on the grid, while #380 will depend upon a good showing on Wednesday to make it in. As it stands Marten #291 is sitting pretty as the lone yellow top and pole man, however it remains to be seen who will join the grid and potentially displace him from pole after the Wednesday meeting. Previous European Champions DanSkin #236 (2006) and LeeK #39 (2009) are already on the grid, while JK #16 (2010, 2009) and Corny #391 (2008) have recently returned to racing. JK #16 also has the opportunity to make himself the only three time UKDirt F1 Stockcar European Champion (currently being tied on two with Michael #2). So just to be clear, Wednesday is a normal meeting (and a Tarmac Masters round). Thursday is a normal meeting, with the European Championship as the first race. The European Championship is 25 laps, closed grid graded, highest national point scorers at back of grades, top 16 available national points scorers (as of today) plus top 6 points scorers in the Wednesday meeting who have not already qualified.
