Good and Bad news, I no longer need to pay out for a new hard drive, i managed to get the current one to work, It had lots of faults and curptions on it, i put it in another PC , went into BIOS and set it as a slave drive, and run a repare program on it, it also found a Virus, so i cleaned that up, i could see my files on the drive, but i couldn't copy them from it cause it was still too curpt. So i put the bad drive back in the orignal PC, pressed Ctrl & F11 at start up, entered the partition, and copyed a fresh copy of Windows over, I lost EVERYTHING, and had to re-install everything, every cloud has a silver lining though, when i re-installed Norton back onto my formated drive it didn't know it was on before, so it restarted my my years subscription! So if your anti virus runs out, just re-format your hard drive!! lol A lesson to everyone is Back Up all your important files on disk or external drive or somthing. Im after a SATA hard drive, no bigger than 200 GB, Im after performance, i wanna get one with 16 mb cache, Iv been looking at Western Digital drives (iv been told there're the best?) Iv searched loads, as i said i want one with 16mb cache, be good if it was 200GB or less, any ideas or advice from the pro's? Rikard

Hello, Iv been having computer problems latly, and i now need a new hard drive, im after a replacment for the current one i have, i need a "Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 160GB" or a later edition of it, It came in my Dell XPS last year, i had a look on the PC World website, but they only do their "HITACHI" hard drives, i looked on Ebay, they had some second hand ones but i need a new one (as i don't want to loose all my data again) If anyone can post up any links where i can find hard drives on the web, preferbly UK sites then i would be very gratful, as at the moment im on the old PC that is very slow and annoying me thanks for any help Rikard

no, its free, and my version i have never registered, you can ask for a regestration code but to be honest you don't need it, the chat thing may be a bit confusing, but if your stuck on anything as Chops said post it up here, and if your really stuck i can take you through it on msn same goes for anyone else thats new and finding it tricky to start Its that whenever i went on chat before a meeting in my trial period nopbody was ever in chat even 5 mins before start time. Try to get there a good 15 minutes before start time, if no one was there then you may have may have made a mistake, its easily done, If you want to test its working someone can go in and meet you in chat, that way wel know if there are any problems

errm, have you read the Urgent Message pop up in your last screen shot?!? also i can see youv got a nVidia G-Force 2, i used to have a G-Force 2 card and that struggled to run Batle field 1942!

Try more RAM, youv got 512 at the moment, Battle Field requires 512 RAM minium, so try getting some more, maby adding another 512 to bring the total up to 1024, that would make an improvment, but how much is debateable, and weather its worth the difference for the Price. If your looking at upgrading memory, be sure to check out this web site as its VERY useful Also its worth waiting for other people to relpy, and read a few different opions, there are a few people on here that play Battle Field 2 a lot, like Pedz, looking at his score hes played it for just a little while lol Rikard

I use 3D max to priview a skin, then you can see your result in 10 seconds rather than converting it and going into the game, Say your painting a Granada mk2, you have open the granada in 3D Max, You open up the .tga template, then if you make a change to the skin, you save it as anything, eg "Granny 2 skin" save it as a .bmp to the desktop, then go into Max and put the .bmp on the car, using "diffuse colour" under the maps roll out in the material editor (bring that up by pressing M) Then once the material is applied to the car, what changes you make while painting the car, save and over write the .bmp file on the desktop "Granny 2" then when it over writes it you go back to 3D Max and the new skin will be on the car, the whole process can be done in 10 seconds, then when your in max you can zoom, rotate and see if it looks good. Its a lot easier than doing all the mktex business and getting it in the game, but you do need 3D Max, thats how i do it anyway Rikard

errm, yours is different to mine then lol, when i do that it brings all the info about my graphics card, to see you processer and system RAM, go to the control pannel, if your using the "clasic view" double click on "system" thats the PC with the tick on the moniter, if your using the "catogory view" click performance and maintance --> then system, The system properties should then pop up, make sure the "Genral" tab is highlighted, then take a screen shot and post it up here for us, then i can say what i recomend
