Don't forget to factor in a bit of the latency factor Matty - until everyone's ping is zero there will always be an element of contact (and the effects thereof) being accentuated by this - you only have to see how the NZ lads' cars react to contact when hitting them to give a clear example.

BOOKINGS: UKDirt F1 2013 Season Prequel Meeting

Corny 391 (blue grade) - H217 Ron Kroonder please -
To be right at the sharp end in both racing and admin (and doing a top job in both btw as has been evident this year) takes a hell of an effort, and though I don't race/follow the other formulae, I can see that it's not only F1's you've shone in over the course of 2012 - superbly done, congratulations Dan and hope you enjoy the off-season!

Definitely GN2 Stumpy? I've watched the replay but it doesn't seem to match up to the description you gave there in terms of leader being taken out and so on? Didn't see any lap-down stuff for example other than an errant 237 at one point

Late booking for me please, Corny (391)

Hehe - I knew even when writing it that I'd be racing Yarmouth, hence the 'however soon that may be' It was still at a time of my choosing eh

Belatedly I must give a shout to the quality of the RM'ing and stewarding which is really top class at the moment - for example grids being pre-organised in the server for races where the grid is already known, really smooth. Thanks Fasttrack for RM'ing and Hooty for once again giving up your time to steward and all that goes with that, and Dan with the aforementioned grids Highly frustrating night for me racing-wise in the most part on what is probably my favourite track but, unbowed, I shall be back at a time of my choosing however soon that may be.

Despite having been somewhat wary prior to this evening's event, I can gladly report that I left it with an undoubted positive feeling. I had not raced Wimbledon since I think mid 2010, am I right in thinking the track has been modified since then? Certainly upon installing it tonight it seemed a lot more open in terms of space, bends not quite so tight as they used to be and so on. After, in the pre-meeting server, 250+ laps of acclimatisation, setup-experimentation, as well as a taster of my possible surge towards the position of Poet Laureate upon its re-assigning in 2019, onto the meeting itself. Well done to Mav for securing the Whites and Yellows championship first up. I managed to score in all of my races which I cannot be too disappointed with, even though perhaps Heat 2 was an opportunity missed in terms of not winning it - Evnos no wonder you were so eager to retake the lead from me if it was for your first ever win, I didn't realise that, so well done again! Racing in the vast majority of cases seemed respectful, a bit of bumper here and there but I didn't personally witness/suffer any OTT stuff, let's hope we continue in that vein. Hectic early laps in the Final, a late exchange with Mav who fought back for 6th place (and it paid off), well done to Tom for taking the win in the main race of the night and top scoring. Dan not far behind in the points-scoring stakes as has come to be expected, remarkable consistency of performance. Thanks Fasttrack for RM'ing, enjoyed the night, thanks to those stewarding also. Cheers, Corny

Very pleasant surprise Kev, thanks I posted on the results thread more out of hope than any type of expectation so to see you posting stats so soon after, well it shouldn't come as a surprise to me quite frankly having worked with you on this in the past, but just knowing you hadn't been directly involved for a while and so on. I would encourage anyone who's been racing a while to take advantage of Kev's offer for your driver stats. Hopefully the career stuff can be carried on i.e. overall races and Finals as I know as with real racing, as the years go by, people love seeing that and who is where. 35 down, I'll try for another tomorrow if I feel up to it!

Over the moon to win that Final tonight, I haven't been feeling exactly top of the world these past few days - the hard-living lifestyle finally catching up with me maybe - so didn't really feel like taking part tonight. But, in pre-meeting practice found that I was competetive, so thought why not have a go...car setup was then quite obviously not suited as I seemed to be spinning in the Heats and I never have a heavy right foot, so can't look in that direction for an excuse. Made some changes to springs and shockers for the Final, and it seemed to work, managed to keep it together, get past the cars in front and hold on for the win. Not sure precisely how many (F1 Final wins) that is since (sadly) Kev149's site is now offline but I think maybe around the 35 mark and given my first F1 Final win was in late August 2002, it's good to still be at least capable/enthusiastic enough over a decade later to still be doing it. As far as I know I am still top of the list on that score but it would be great if Kev could provide the basic info to keep the lists that matter up to date/ongoing and so on...? Thanks Dan, the stewards and Hooty who I know came in mid-meeting, I'm a happy man tonight, I know it's no big thing winning off the front of the blues but like I say given I've been feeling rough it does mean quite a lot to me, Cheers, Corny

Sorry but for an admin to be posting this is in my opinion irresponsible to say the least. 'We all know'? Er, no actually - in fact since I made a late season-start at the end of May I can say that the standards of driving in F1 have seemed the best they have been in all the time I have been racing the rFactor mod. You're wrong to put this message out in this way as though it is universally agreed, as if a newcomer/interested party was to visit the forum and read your post, they would be picking up an impression that the racing is pure carnage and that is far from the case. I would consider it only respectful for any issues/ideas concerning the mod itself to be channelled behind closed doors and in a way that would be constructive, rather than whipping up a furore on here when frankly I think you're basing it on your own recent personal experience and little else.

Sorry forgot to do it in time on the website - late booking please

Thanks to Fasttrack, DanSkin, Hooty and Grasser for the RM'ing and stewarding duties - two nights of racing which I found, overall, to be enjoyable. The standards of driving at least from the parts of the tracks I was on, seemed pretty good, as good as I can recall from all my time racing tarmac in this mod quite honestly, people generally having their heads screwed on, even if you do get the inevitable raising of tempo and frenzied scenes when packs of cars sometimes get bunched together, that's the 'nature of the beast' as it were. I may have been lucky in what I experienced in that respect although I'd like to think the way I drive goes some way to help matters, and hopefully some of the newer faces this year are getting more familiarised with my racing as I know it's always difficult when you don't know someone, and it takes a bit of time for a mutual trust to build up. Reasons to be positive anyway and looking forward to next time. Well done for Marten for taking the 2012 European Championship and to Green on the rather impressive feat of taking back-to-back Finals, on what was a competetive couple of nights' proceedings. Cheers
