Is it possible you may have registered the same nickname sometime in the past Jack? It doesn't matter how long ago it was but if you had, it is likely it would still be retained on the website database and could/would cause the type of error you describe.

This coming Wednesday at Northampton sees the kick-off of our second (and final) 2011 'double-header' - the European Championship - and as well as being the crucial final World Championship Qualifying round, also features Whites & Yellows and Premier League races. Noteworthy also is the fact it is the last chance for race practice at this season's World Final venue, with the 'big one' to be held at NIR on 15th September. Further build-up to the Euro' double-header will follow in the coming days, however the all-important message and reason for this post is to ensure everyone knows the start time for Wednesday night. This is 7:45PM. Bookings for Wednesday's meeting are open over at THE UK-DIRT SITE! Thanks, Corny

Did you get it to load just out've interest Ben? Been having the same problem myself tonight when trying to install and load it, but running in DX9 and on high (or even full) detail and textures hasn't got it working for me. Ramped the Gfx card detail and quality levels up to maximum as well and tried deleting/redownloading/reinstalling etc numerous times to no avail. I'm on Windows 7 (64-bit).
-
Not going to be able to race as I can't get the track to load at all. Thanks to those who tried to help and give advice but unfortunately I'm stumped and going to cut my losses for the night - don't honestly hold much hope of getting it to work even if I tried for the next 3 hours so 1hr+ spent is enough for now! Tried re-downloading, deleting, reinstalling multiple times, all gfx settings on max and DX9.

Late booking for me please

You've hit the nail on the head Mav with the word "penalised". Thats just it, nobody does get penalised through the proper channels, or at least thats how it seems to me. Without admin reviewing reported incidents & punishing / banning / awarding DP points as they seem fit, then you have a situation where people seemingly do what they want to gain revenge without any chance of a ban. Evening Matty, Firstly I would point you to the disciplinary thread which is sticky at the top of this F1 forum, starting at THIS POST specifically. As shown there, 3 drivers so far this year have received bans as well as others being given disciplinary points (and there have also been 'official warnings' to others). Just pointing out facts here in light of your potentially misleading statement there as regards 'nobody' getting penalised. Your complaint relating to the British Championship meeting was investigated fully. I can only apologise that you have not received a reply and will ensure you receive a PM separately relating to this. One of the most damaging lines of thought that could be prevalent would be that of 'there is no point complaining' - I can assure you and anyone else that there most certainly IS a point in doing so. Given the importance of this area I feel wider clarification and a general reminder would likely be of benefit, in addition to us making sure the PM process is made as clear as possible, so that everyone concerned is left in no doubt as to what they need to be doing in the event of needing to complain. Thanks, Corny

Server replays from tonight's races can be downloaded HERE. Will be having a watch at some stage myself but just for now to say well done on your first F1 Final win of 2011 Davey

CLICK HERE to download them Big Al. It won't be that your PC hasn't recorded them Al - rFactor only seems to store a certain amount of replays from the same track (not sure if it does it by number of replays or total memory used) before over-writing them with newer ones, that's why you will often find the earlier races missing, unless there have been say only 4 or 5 races in a meeting where you may be lucky. You can get around this by copying the race replays out've the folder mid-meeting etc into a backup folder for example (I do this), though the server replays are better quality if you are watching the other cars in a race other than yourself, due to the latency being cut in half and so on. You may also notice on your own replays that the further other cars are from you on the track, the less likely they are to be recorded properly on the replay. We always get the replays from the server anyway so there's no reason why they cannot always be made available through a link on here.

Don't worry about it Al, I haven't watched the replay of whichever race it was yet to see what you mean, though I will be doing so as a matter of course. I feel bad personally about the 1st/2nd lap of the GN - I slid into the very first bend of the race towards the fence then was collected by MoR who had seemingly done the same, I ended up on the fence and on my roof before the car righted itself, just as I started to pull forward to try to spin myself round (I was facing the wrong way) realised the leaders were into turn1, so at that point I stopped in my tracks and just sat still hoping these first cars would miss me and I'd have a chance to reverse out've the way. I was collected though and from that point I was pushed round on the fence, kept hold of the steering wheel to ensure my car stayed against the fence at least rather than spilling back over the track before finally getting to hit escape and get myself out've the race! So sorry for my part in that particular pile-up, it all happened so quickly there is very little else I could have done. Poor night for me, I was tired and didn't feel particularly up for it, maybe had the gearing wrong as although it was OK on an empty track it seemed slow on the uptake when in any traffic. Looking forward to being back on the shale this coming week

RESULTS: Kings Lynn - British Drivers Championship
Corny 391 replied to Johno3's topic in F1 (rFactor)
You weren't at fault Mav so no need for any apologies - it was a simple case of me having my eye on the rear of the car in front (Grasser) and under-compensating for the fact that I was taking a more acute line into the bend than normal, end result being a large whack on the marker tyre which caused some kind of catastrophic damage, not sure what it was but I do know it was a hell of a struggle to get it around the bends from then onwards! Really enjoyed the meeting though, knew it would be extremely hard for anyone to deny DanSkin pole position so to get outside front was as good as I could have expected, then around the first bend much as I had thought before the meeting we did survive it and get away at the front, with Grasser getting a good start from inside row5 to go third. DanSkin seemed to get out've shape on the second lap down the back straight and I gave him what would have to be described as a 'big one' into turn3, sending him to the armco and going through to lead. Then led a few laps with Dan still in touch right behind, was just trying to maintain a steady pace at this point with there being so long to go in the race, and as we approached the backmarkers Dan nudged me wide in 1/2 to lead again. Matty seemed to get half spun in turns1/2 and Dan gave him a nudge on his back end, this delayed me a bit and Grasser was now in touch behind. Fast forward a few laps and I was really starting to get comfortable, relaxing and looking forward to applying some pressure to Dan again, then bang, Daveyboy bounced off a marker tyre at the end of the home straight, Dan hit him full force, I hit Dan, Grasser hit me, and I got pinned behind Davey's car momentarily as he rolled back towards the armco! Now back to 3rd just recovering in time to keep Tom behind me and started to settle again and set about trying to get past Grasser - then made an error of judgement which Mav referred to, surprised my front inside wheel didn't come off completely in a way and that was race over apart from limping around to an eventual 10th and make sure I stayed out've the way as the top 3 lapped me! If it was a normal race I'd not have been taking the risk to end up hitting the tyre but I could see Dan getting himself a gap and needed to make a move on Grasser ASAP if I was to leave enough laps to catch Dan, alas, it didn't go to plan! I wanted Dan to win it if I couldn't, so I'm happy in that respect, well done on a fine performance all night And in terms of the meeting in general I think it was befitting of a British Championship, with fierce competition all the way through the Heats and a good element of suspense while we watched for the Final grid announcements. Thanks to Johno and all the stewards for the smooth running of the meeting, don't forget all the replays from the server are available through THIS THREAD, enabling you to pick out your own favourite viewpoints to spectate from around the track or on board with drivers. This was also the last meeting to count towards the 3rd re-grading of 2011 so look out for an announcement on those in the near future. Looking forward to Hednesford for a totally different style of racing and hopefully people will turn out in their numbers to grab some all-important WCQR points as the clock ticks ever closer to this year's Semi Finals. Thanks, Corny -

Southy, I've attached the results from the King's Lynn 24th March meeting (the only F1 meeting to have been run on version 1.1 of the track with the 'banked' bends and so on): Hope this helps, Thanks, Corny 24.03.2011_Kings_Lynn.txt

Not only would I like to see DanSkin win it but as you said in the preview, he should have a fantastic chance especially given the way he's been performing in recent weeks. I would expect grid positions in the Final to be more critical towards chances of success than they were two years ago in the Coventry British, or even the WF there last year for that matter - with the King's Lynn bends being quite a bit quicker I would expect there being a much higher potential for someone to really lead the way from the front. Of course on a personal note I'd not be complaining if my Tri-annual winning pattern were to be maintained (2005, 2008 in Heat...)! Mainly hoping for a really good night's racing and for the Final to be worthy of its stature and something that can be looked back on favourably in years to come.

DanSkin (236) deposes Cobbers (155) for the lead in the closing stages of the Grand Final Quite a problematic evening in terms of the server, including the necessary re-run of the Grand National after the initial attempt at it quickly descended into a chaos of warp. Thanks to people for sticking with it and to Hooty for giving his time and stewarding for the evening - much appreciated. It was a massively successful meeting for DanSkin, a Premier League win being followed up by a Heat and Final double (Dan's second Final of the season) then a double-points position in the GN, all adding up to a top-scoring 53 points. Cobbers certainly made Dan work for his Final win, having previously won two Heats, with Gary (131) also taking a Heat win on his debut and Tom D (1) rounding off the meeting with a GN triumph to tie with Cobbers on an impressive 49-point haul. Cobbers earns an instant upgrade to yellow having surpassed the '30 point' rule for white tops. Next week we have the second biggest single race of the season - the British Championship, at King's Lynn and we hope to see a good turnout for what should be a thrilling meeting on one of F1's very best shale tracks.
