Hello Aub, No problems if you want to do that yeah - it (the meeting in general) just won't get counted as an 'appearance' for grading purposes obviously if you don't appear in any points races, Thanks, Corny

Due to the fact that slow loading times are being experienced with the UK-Dirt website, please feel free to book in for tomorrow's Cowdenbeath meeting on this thread. We are at 2/3rd's distance in the World Qualifying Rounds for the 2011 Gold roof - with Round 9 tomorrow at Cowdenbeath, to be followed by Rounds 10-12 at Hednesford June 9th, Mildenhall June 30th and Northampton July 6th respectively, there is ample time for anyone not only to get themselves into contention for a Semi Final place, but to claim a competetive grid slot. Bookings: WHITE 84 bully jnr 130 blymn 199 Waqar 465 jedd YELLOW 172 spikejnr 285 Mav_Jnr 525 Mav* BLUE 164 Jarry 221 Spike 236 DanSkin RED 3 Johno 39 LeeK 262 Harmen 380 davey boy 391 Corny SUPERSTAR 137 MoR 151 dode 188 Aub 1 Tom D *provisional booking

Tom D has nowhere to go as Harmen's (262) car blocks his path The World Champ manages to scramble around the outside, but not before Aub is away down the back straight and into a race-winning lead Early stages of the Grand National Spike Jnr and Mav Jnr (285) enter turn 3, while their fathers can be seen not far behind in a tussle of their own Hooty (256) made his first appearance of 2011 Bully Jnr (84) had enjoyed a good spell leading the Final but led all the way to the chequered in the GN, his first UK-Dirt F1 league win

A small selection of pictures taken from last night's meeting... Blues & Reds race winner - Grasser (233) Drumbstick (41) took wins in Heats 1 and 4, seen here challenging Mav (525) and Heat 2 winner SpikeJnr (172) It was all-action at the end of Heat 4 as six Red/SS drivers all steamed into the last bend in with a shot at 3rd place Rolling lap of the evening's main event, the Grand Final Chaos early in the Grand Final caused by a track blockage down the home straight, decimated the chances of many Matty (300) gets airbourne into turn1, at the the wheel of a car rumoured to have been purchased from Aub (188)... After a heavy-duty race Aub (188) makes his move on lap 18 of the Final, edging leader Tom D (1) out towards a stricken car

Premier League R3: 8, 137, 315, 188, 290, 1, 3, 380 Most laps led: 8 Fastest lap: 290 Points after Round 3 50pts......Tom D (1) 25pts......MoR (137) 25pts......Tosh (8) 14pts......Corny (391) 14pts......Mike (315) 9pts........Aub (188) 9pts........Dazza (290) 7pts........Harmen (262) There were Premier League debuts at Sheffield for British Champion Dazza (290), Johno (3) and Daveyboy (380), who got in as a reserve for the absent Murf (561). Despite a first-lap spin, Dazza went on to a respectable 5th place and also recorded the fastest lap of the race to bag himself 5 bonus points. It was Tosh (8) who broke away to lead through the early carnage, and though it looked like MoR (137) may be poised to challenge, a second-lap tangle in turn four cost the Nuneaton man significant time as well as having an even greater impact on Tom, the World Champ being spun and finishing the race with zero points, having previously taken maximums in both of the first two rounds of the series. The 4th round comes in a little under three weeks time, Birmingham May 26th - plenty of time (and laps!) remain over the upcoming rounds for anyone to really stake their claim on the series, with this most recent showing at the Owlerton Stadium giving proof of just how fine the line between 'hero' and 'zero' is in the inaugural Premier League!

I've updated the THREAD I posted as a reminder - did not realise the download had been changed since THIS thread was posted announcing the track alterations. Incidentally I installed the track from the .rar file as per my initial link on the reminder thread and encounter no problems at all either when loading the track offline or when connecting to the (.45) server online Note to self - check the website before potentially posting any more threads regarding download links! Apologies for any inconvenience caused though I would still be interested to know if there is indeed any difference between the two files/tracks, as surely regardless of what is on the server the one in the .rar should have worked offline?
-
That certainly rings a bell with me Matty as I had that problem before with a couple of circuits I'd tried to install such as Melbourne, same type of error coming up and everything and track not loading, so fingers crossed you've pinpointed exactly what might be wrong with Big Al's install. Also I did not know that Buxton had to/was recommended to be run in DX9 - could this explain why I have experienced seemingly quite sluggish frame rates when running in DX7? (Never measured the frame rate on it but it's not difficult to realise is it when it's slow)
-
Jakie just to ask are you referring to the first meeting of the F1 season at Birmingham?
-
Really enjoyed the meeting - good to see Daveyboy, Grasser, Mav Jnr, Lars making their first 2011 appearances - and well done to Tom on becoming the first back-to-back Final winner of the year in F1. It is great to really be able to open the throttle up around this the biggest shale track on the calendar and I'm already looking forward to the second meeting there at the end of August. After just running out've laps in pursuit of DanSkin in Heat 1, I managed to get my first win from red top in the rFactor F1 mod in Heat 2, and from the back of the reds at that so a bit of a personal milestone there. Things did not go as smoothly in my next 3 races but still had some enjoyable dices in those, such as with Tosh towards the end of the GN as we closely contested what was at that point 8th place. Cheers Johno and all, Corny

To prevent anyone from potentially wasting time practicing on an old track version, can I take this opportunity to remind you that a new version of the Buxton track has been released recently. If you do not yet have it, click HERE to download it and install ready for next week's World Qualifying Round. Thanks, Corny

World and National Points champion Tom D (1) took a mammoth points haul away from tonight's Skegness meeting, with a Heat and Final double then GN-handicap 3rd place amounting to 69 points in total, the highest amount scored so far in the 2011 season. LiamB (90), in only his second UK-Dirt F1 meeting, followed up a win in the Blues & Reds race with further success in Heat 1 and the Grand National, as well as 2nd place in the Final and this all adds up to an impressive 50 points. Mike (315) was the other race winner on the night, taking Heat 3 in what was at times a hectic affair on one of F1's tightest and most taxing StockCar tracks. Results: B&R: 90, 151, 221, 391 Heat 1: 90, 188, 1, 151, 3, 39, 515, 391, 8, 199, 221, 465, 57 (dnf 315) Heat 2: 1, 221, 39, 151, 3, 315, 391, 90, 199, 188, 8, 465, 84, 57 (dnf 515) Heat 3: 315, 188, 1, 90, 151, 39, 221, 84, 3, 8, 515, 199, 57 (dnf 465, 391) Final: 1, 90, 221, 151, 39, 188, 8, 391, 3, 515, 84, 315, 57, 199, 465 GN: 90, 3, 1*, 391, 84, 39, 151, 221, 515, 315, 188, 199 (dnf 57, 8, 465) Points: 69pts......Tom D (1) 50pts......LiamB (90) 38pts......dode (151) 35pts......LeeK (39) 34pts......Spike (221) 28pts......Johno (3) 27pts......Aub (188) 22pts......Corny (391) 16pts......Mike (315) 12pts......Tosh (8) 12pts......Big Al (515) 11pts......bullyjnr (84) 2pts........Waqar (199) 0pts........jedd (465) 0pts........Speed (57) Thanks to all who raced - next week is the Dutch Championship at the vast field track of Sexbierum in Holland - a track where unlike Skegness you can really get your foot down and open up these 650bhp V8 engines! Book in at ukdirt.co.uk Cheers, Corny

Skegness' first UK-Dirt F1 meeting of 2011 hosts the first round of the all-new Blues & Reds series, which is open to all non-Premier League-seeded blue and red graded drivers, completing a set of three different tiers of additional series for F1 racers to demonstrate and improve their skills over and above the regular meeting format, along with the Whites & Yellows and Premier League. Dates and tracks for this series are: 14th April - Skegness 11th May - Coventry 9th June - Hednesford 30th June - Mildenhall 14th July - Sheffield 4th August - Nutts Corner 11th August - Bradford (S) 8th September - Arena Essex 13th October - Wimbledon 20th October - Belle Vue The series is being generously sponsored by veteran UK-Dirt racer Travel (365) - with the overall winner having their full 2012 server contribution fee paid, while 2nd and 3rd placed finishers will each receive £5 towards their 2012 fee. The points for the series will be accumulated in the same way as the Whites & Yellows, in the 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 format. With the meeting being Tarmac Masters Round 2, it will be 3 Heats each, followed by the Final and Grand National. Harmen (262) leads the TM series after the opening round on 81 points with the multiplication system in place, however as he is currently serving a ban the door is open for others to top the table after this, the second of the eight rounds in the 2011 TM series. In the National Points Dode's (151) lead looks a little fragile, as the newly-upgraded SuperStar managed only 12 points from his first meeting at the grade last week around Belle Vue, by far his worst score from the six 2011 meetings contested in F1 thus far. He now sits on 208 points, only 16 ahead of Aub (188) and 24 ahead of Tom D (1), both of whom look to have the opportunity to top the chart should Skegness go sufficiently in their favour. With Dode never having raced above blue grade in F1 before, the pressure is on him to prove he can cut it from the back and in such established top-rank company right from the green flag. Dode became the only driver so far in 2011 to win more than one Final a fortnight ago at Ipswich, adding that main event success to his season-opening Birmingham win. Aub, the Northampton Final winner a month ago, won a Skegness Final last season on the UK Open Wednesday and so has proven pedigree around this almost circular racing platform, venue of the thrilling 2010 British Championship. Matty (300) finished second in the Ipswich Final two weeks ago, but went one better last time around at Belle Vue after a downgrade to yellow, making it a Heat and Final double after his earlier victory in the first Heat, and a third win in total for the evening taking the Whites & Yellows race into account. Though he is yet to appear on the booking list, this meeting would present him with a better than fair chance of adding to his win tally from close to the front of the grid. His fellow mucker from the yellow grade Big Al (515) is booked, and though he will not have to undergo the rigours of any Whites & Yellows race this time, he too should keep his points total ticking over nicely one would think, after a 4th place in last week's Final and a series of dogged drives so far in '11. MoR (137) recorded his first win of the season in Belle Vue's Heat 2 last week, going on to a plentiful points score of 41 for the meeting, contributed to by 2nd-placed finishes in both Heat 1 and the Final as well as another points placing in the GN - form that is more in keeping with that shown by him in recent times unlike his relatively quiet start to the season. Should he race he will once again be returning to the scene of his 2010 UK Open win, and also where he missed out on a British Championship win only through the brilliance of Dazza (290) last September. Another red top who tasted success last time was Johno (3) who had returned from a two-week absence - by the end of the night he was passing the chequered first in the GN, his second race win of the season going towards a 35-point meeting points total, some 13 points better than his previous season best of 22, achieved at NIR prior to his break. Liam (90) made his UK-Dirt F1 debut starting from the blue grade at the Manchester venue, seemed to be going steadily, and is booked in once again. Two potential debut drivers for Skegness are Speed (57) and shane thepain (114), though with the latter having been spotted in meetings with about the same frequency as Shergar this season when he has booked for the formula, it is fair to say it would be a surprise to see him make it onto the tarmac in earnest. Skegness is a track that, much the same as any other, can produce fine racing when treated with the necessary amount of respect - fingers crossed we are in for a quality meeting here, in keeping with the majority of what we have seen so far in the 2011 season. Bookings are open on the UK-Dirt website until 6pm tomorrow (Thursday), with late bookings being available on this forum thereafter. Good luck, Thanks, Corny

I said similar on Thursday night but I'll say again there never seems a dull race around this track, plenty of action, plenty of bumper though I wasn't involved in anything over the top, without a doubt the race I most enjoyed was Heat 2 chasing MoR through the field right to the front then holding off Tom D last bend for 2nd. Skegness could hardly be much different in terms of the track characteristics but I hope for a good turnout and similarly good quality racing
