  1. When i started Slotstox 8 years ago i had to choose a number on the spot, as 515 was taken (lol) i used 137, as my birthday is on 13/7. Stuck since then really....
  2. Or you could just rename the skin painting to section to skin painting and rendering forum, as thats what it is anyway, no need to start a new forum imo. Also, if you felt inclined too kev, maybe a small note at the top of the page about uploading files etc, everyone has a different view on so it may be worth reminding people this
  3. I use a combination of AVG 7.1 professional (though AVG Free is good aswell) and Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall. Dead quick and easy to confiure and also to turn off when racing, pretty cheap (about 30 quid for for a years subscription to updates) which is so little, considering the fact i havent incurred a single virus in a year and half of using them and very little spyware.
  4. I've haven't had any PMs off you, so don't know where that got too, but i wouldnt be the one to ask anyway, its more a general admin thing
  5. As i've told you on msn, perfect skin mate, i know you've put a hell of a lot of time into it and it definately shows, be very very proud of it
  6. Hi Mate First of all, if you didn't know who made it, then you should've posted on here and somebody would let you know, but i understand alot of people won't have heard of it as it hasnt been out for long. Thanks for the apoligy mate, like Alec said, takes a big man, apoligy accepted mate and also consider this 'permission' to render the car just dont redistribute it, lol. Thanks mate, MoR
  7. I didn't really post here for an argument, but once again its more a case of being misunderstood than me being stuck up my arse? Let me ask you this Muns, what have i ever done to you to deserve a comment like 'MoR is stuck up his arse'...... i would rather you refrained from such a phrase, and use something along the lines 'MoR is slightly miffed'. So, why do i ask for people to get permission before the rendering the models? Well, everyone has a different view on this, we know Dragons, 90% of people seem to get the jist of mine and everyone knows FBF don't mind at all, fair play, thats his decision, he's made a truckload of amazing models, spent hours of his time on them, and thats his decision. Just like the fact i spend hours of my time, so i expect to have some sort of look in to how my models are used. Again my decision. Sure these models don't have money attached to them, but they certainly have my time, my hard work and most of all my enjoyment attached. There's nothing more i love than to see my models painted up in everybodies different colours, really is the icing on the cake and something i look forward too during and after modelling. I personally don't see whats wrong with asking people to spend two minutes sending me a PM or a message over msn just to say 'can i have permission to crack your model and render it?/can you send me the 3DS's to render it?'. Something i feel any model maker is entitled to ask. And 90% of people do seem to be fine with it, and take 2 minutes to do it, so i don't see what some peoples problems are? Just manners to me. But you seem to have strayed away from this thread quite abit Munster, we're not talking about rendering, i saw this thread the evening before i replied and saw the rendered Ogden, and didn't reply, as like i say i'm not too bothered, its just bad manners and its nice to be asked. However, the next day i saw a link containing the ogden.car and wasn't happy about it, and stressed my views about it and got the link removed. I also took the oppotunity to remind him about my sig. I made the Ogden for UKDirt, and don't expect it to be taken out of the game and transfered over some crap file distributing network. If people want it, they can download UKDirtF1, cause thats where my 'loyalties' lie. Not too much to ask is it? Cheers MoR PS - hopefully this thread dies now, and no more posts having to be 'filtered by the forum'
  8. Excuse me, but you have no right to go around distributing the ogden.car file to anyone, it is only available from UKDirtF1 and should not be redistributed to anybody, at least not without my permission, which you have not even had the decency to ask for to just render the car. Despite what people seem to think, not everything on the internet is free for thier taking, yes i've released the Ogden in a 'free' download, but the fact you've not even had the decency to ask about permission before redistributing is just plain bad manners. This thread also made me laugh, you asked for comments and took complete offence to the first bad one. Cheers MoR PS - the answer is no
  9. Happy Birthday Matey

Looks nice samson great work, you keep improving with every paintjob, keep it up. Just a little suggestion, don't feel inclined to take it or owt, but maybe give the numbers a thicker black outline or a black shadow, as the numbers blend in with the white canvas abit too much and thus makes them not as clear as they could be. Just a thought, well done again mate. Cheers MoR

Your best paintjob yet Rollcage, very very tidy, you should be extremely proud of it. Hope you can eliminate those warpy troubles from thursday and join us again for the rest of this season. Cheers MoR
  13. Good Luck Spike, tis a big shame to see you go. Cheers MoR
  14. Hi Chevy has asked me to post this. He has been having problems connecting to servers, he keeps getting chucked out. Tonight however, i think we were granted with a possible clue to what the problem is. Chevy was in chat under the name 'chevy11' when another name appeared called 'chevy11-7'. Shortly after chevy11 disapeared and then did chevy11-7. After this Chevy was able to reconnect. This happened multiple times over the night, i saw it three times in the last number each time was increasing...... i saw chevy11-7, chevy11-12 and chevy11-14. Not sure if this is a clue to his problem as this is the first time this double name thing has happened. I don't know anything about stuff like this, but my head says that there could be some sort of conflict with ip address bits n bobs when two exact copies are in there, so it is spitting him out? Hope you lot can help him. Cheers MoR
  15. Shocked me when i switched on GMTV this morning to hear this. Steve seemed (from his programs) a generally nice man, never short of a smile and loved his job so passionately. My thoughts go out to his family and friends, a very very sad loss. RIP Steve Irwin
  16. I could be wrong, I don't really know much about texel, but i think the metal plating/fence was only fitted in recent years, and wasn't there when the track was created for heat. I might be wrong but that seems to be what i remember!
  17. To be honest I agree with Sam in a respect, I think its good to take advantage of what rfactor has to offer, and the chance to create more detailed models is something i think should definately be captialised on. I think the screenshots you've posted there Andy, look fabulous, top notch. Dragon's models are superb, the best in heat, and have utilised all that he can to make these as good as they can get in heat But the fact of the matter is, there is so much missing that can now be added for rfactor models. I have rebuilt the db515 for rfactor, though have not touched it for a while after concentrating on a few other projects. With this, i rebuilt the rollcage so the tubing didn't look 'square' like the original did when converted to rfactor, offsetted the car, much like a real life car, and made it quite abit wider. Also there is lots of detail missing, which has now been added, such as the welds on the bumpers and nerf rails, proper suspensions rather than tubes, suspensions links, the engine..... the list goes on and on. I'm not saying what you have posted is bad or anything, and I hope you understand that, and Dragon, its not a go at your models, cause if you look at my heat models, they are based around yours in regards what detail I have included, how many polys i used on certain pieces and proportions in some areas. It's just, when i compare an old screenshot that Hooty first took when he got my db515 in rfactor, compared to how it looks now, and then to how good somebody elses purpose built f1 looks when he's spent longer than any of us have working on it, its obvious why we are raving about purpose built models. Looking forward to maybe getting help from you in the near future Andy, your offer is much appreciated, i think i say that for all who are working on rfactor.
  18. Regarding physics, believe me, its dead hard to drive, but you never thought a stock car would be easy to drive did you? But its also worth remember that the physics we're using at the moment are just for testing purposes, and there's tweeks being made here and there I'm sure (i haven't touched much to do with rfactor for a while) so the ones i describe at the momet are probably far from what we eventually use. Regarding keys Sparky, no chance lol........ but i'm doing ok with a gamepad here, but to appreciate the full realism rfactor has to offer, then you will want to get yourself a wheel
  19. You'll regret saying that when you see the F1 Stock Cars that are in game at the moment The rfactor graphics engine puts heat to shame by far, the amount of things you can do with it is unbelievable, you could spend days just working on what the reflections off a wheel look like! Here are one or two advantage that rfactor offers: - Over triple the amount of polys in a model, in other words, we've been able to add much more detail to the models, and it really makes one hell of a difference. - A superb physics engine which allows real life values to be entered, and its really realstic, so you really get the cars feeling like they should do. - Sideways shale racing Thats to name a few. There really are too many to list. Cheers MoR
  20. Really nice Kruiz, really close to the real thing, superb effort well done mate, and don't worry about those renders, its looks superb in the screenshots Great to see you getting the hang of things from previous real life skins, this one is certainly BH2005 material! Congrats mate, I hope your real proud of it
  21. Happy Birthday Mate, have a good one!
  22. I think whats hard for alot of new people to understand because they don't understand the processes involved in making a model for heat, is the amount of time that it takes. Modelling with 3DS Max is very hard if you are going to do the job properly, and the model is just half of the work, compared to getting it all ready for game/getting all the textures sorted. I have not yet took the leap to model a track because i know there's alot to learn and time is something im short of. However, this applies to cars aswell; if/when i make a track i can assure you it will only be one that i take an immediate interest in. It takes such a long time, and if you have no interest in what your model, then it wont be enjoyable and you won't put your heart into it. My gut feeling is that the track Kollum will never be made unless someone picks it up who has a big interest in the track, or you yourself spend some time to learn how to model. Hope this explains why your not getting the response you was hoping for.
  23. Thank you all for the happy birthdays on here and on MSN, much appreciated. I had a great day Cheers MoR
  24. i see on fixture list tracks called scunthorpe, leicster and NEC any ideas where these can be found? At the time of this website then UKDirt was running on DTRSC (Dirt Track Sracing Sprint Cars) so some tracks were available for that game which have never been created for heat. Sorry. Great Find Cider!
  25. Happy Birthday Si
