Happy Birthday Grasser

Thanks Kev, superb work

Hi Mate There is no drivers text available for F1s with all the drivers in, as a team we've just decided its unnessesary, as the mod is used for online only, and theres a great mod (BH2005) that does all you want for offline racing. Hope this helps. Cheers MoR

The guy who painted your F1! Lol.

Hi Mate Have you downloaded all the ukdirt updates? 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 (1.3 incldues the db515 chassis). What is your problem, 'having none of it' and 'doesn't seem to pick it up' arent really the sort of information which are going to get you answers. Cheers MoR

Hi Might not be a fixable problem, but thought I'd warn you of this Kev, not sure if im the only one its happening to but its been doing it the last three days or so, every other time i click on something on the forum. Sometimes i have to wait 10 minutes or so before i can view the forum again. Attatchment below. Cheers MoR

Thats most likely to be a design not a font, you may get fonts reasonabley close though, but they won't look to that quality. Try the usual sites, www.dafont.com or do a search on google, then trawl through the fonts. Thats the best way.

I'm with Dragon here, always been polite to me, helped me tons over the past 3 years ive been here and esspecially the last few months with modelling. I'm sure Dragon didn't do render when he was 13, probably because the best piece of technology about then was an atari, and I bet he kicked ass at space invaders. The thing is Sparky, i want to see you do a faultless model. there are things that needed to be done for a model to be as accurate as possible in game. I know the db515 has some dodgey shape in places, and is abit more offset in real life, but the important thing is to get the main shape right, and portray the car. If people can instally recognise the car, without it having a real life skin on it, then it has been a success. I hope I have achieved this with the db515 and both the witts chassis, but thats for everyone else to decide. And as far as I'm concerned, the RCE looks exactly how it should. Without treading over old ground, you still don't really have anything to your name, for you to be slagging other peoples models off. I hope Dragon is first at picking out little minor details on any chassis you produce. And back to the point, top skin Sim, your skills have really improved in a short space of time and I'm very impressed Just my point of view Cheers MoR

S-C.... F1's are probably the hardest formula on ukdirt handling wise, and take some getting used to. But believe me, get over this first hurdle and you won't regret it. Forgive me for judging you before i know you, by stereotyping you, but I've read on Stoxnet you have liked the sport for a long time, and big fans like yourself tend to come into ukdirt and struggle to get to grips with things, as they don't come from a gaming background, where we all have finely tuned thumbs! Sorry if you do play alot of games, thats just an observation thats often made. I struggled (and sometimes still do) when I started with F1s so i spent 3 or 4 months racing F2s to get used to the online experience, then went into F1s, made some friends who taught me things about setups, and sent me a few to try out (i wouldn't recommend posting for setups though, ask people privately when you now them well enough). So i'd recommend not giving in completely, keep trying with the F1s but also race some F2s, and bangers are always a good start as that allows you to make mistakes without getting into too much trouble for it (though bangers can be a confusing mod to install with so many classes). Good luck matey, hope all goes well. Cheers MoR

You need to make sure you only have foreground colour turned on, so you need to turn the background colour off. To do this..... [attachmentid=5017] Once you've done this, draw the curve again and it should appear with just your foreground colour. Cheers MoR
-
Hope this helps, follow the numbered help... [attachmentid=4985] [attachmentid=4986] From there, now select the text tool and hover it over your line, and the cursor should change from an A to an A with a curved line beneath it. Click as soon as it changes and then the text will bend around the line. For more complicated signs, like text bending around a line and changing size and proportion, you need to do it manually letter by letter. Cheers MoR

Hi As Grasser pointed out on the forum, (and i know how confusing things are to start with, so not being funny) you are not allowed to race a real life replica in the UKDirt F1 league. However, if you want the same colours then thats fine (i use colours similar to that of Chris Bonner) as long as it does not look like a Dave Willis skin, if that makes sense. So you may want to refine your skin request. Any example of making a skin not like the real thing is to change what sponsers you want on the car. Hope this helps, and welcome to the league. Cheers MoR

You could always post a screen grab of your f1 folder if you like matey? Might help us solve the problem quicker than i a reinstall, as there must be a drivers text if the novice cars work fine.
-
If your missing the drivers text file, then the installation may have gone wrong damo, and it might be worth installing again. The skinpacks do not add a drivers text file, there will be one when you have downloaded the mod, as it will contain the driver details for the novice cars. Hope this helps Cheers MoR

Paint Shop pro 7 , help needed to add decal/numbers
MoR137 replied to swerve's topic in Skin Painting
Nice bit of help mart, but thats photoshop i believe. In PSP7, the text tool is an A, and is on the tool bar on the left hand side of the screen. Select it, then click where you want the text to be and a menu will appear where you can type your text, change font, colours and size. -
Lovely renders Mark, really great to see my work with other peoples skins, makes the 2 months making the db515 worth while, and the 4 weeks doing the witts and wittst just as worthwhile. Thanks to anyone who has opted for it as thier chassis. Great stuff Mark!

After talking to Radduz in the flesh last night, i'm gonna do it chaps

May seem like a silly question, so sorry if it offends you in anyway, but are you using the cockpit view? As i believe it only works in the cockpit view?

Hi All i was trying to do was give a little bit of advice, i can assure you my head is very far away from arse and firmly on my shoulders, from experience i've appreciated any advice i have been given whilst learning the various things i've done. From the many things Dragon (for examples sake) has posted on the forum, advice with painting skins have all helped me, some i remember are tips with the little sparkles on the writing (them not all being the same angle and size for example) and advice about how far things should be from the sides of panels etc. This advice has been invaluable to me and has also increased how much i enjoy painting, as the results are much more how I desire them to be. All i am saying is, i thought people would appreciate it if i also passed on advice like this. Some people do, some people don't. I don't like being judged wrongly, I've never been big headed, full of it, whatever you would like to call it, one thing i've always had is a creative side, and the aspiration to make it as good as i believe i can. Everything takes a hell of a lot of learning, and modelling wise, what James and Dragon gave in regards time and patience in helping me, is also something i would like to give back to someone else wherever possible. And its the same with skinpainting. When i post, i don't believe i am the best, or any of that crap, i'm just trying to help. If i come across abit funny, then thats the disadavntage of being stuck behind a computer reading a few words i'm afraid. Sorry if you took it the wrong way chaps

Top chap, cheers, nice one

Ok Sparky my bad there, but the real lfie colours and aerofoil instantly said real life skin to me, I apoligise, but don't be so snotty about it ('its not a real life skin but thanks anyway' would've been nice). Glad to see you appreciated the advice too. And don't you challenge me about that permission 'crap' either, i said i wouldn't comment on it, i by no means said you were wrong in this case, so read it twice before you post. Don't worry Sparky, i'll make sure i don't post anymore comments like 'nice work' as you obviously don't appreciate it. Next time i post a sparky bash post eh? Pah, try to be a little bit nice, with abit of contructive critisism and what do you get? ext time i'll just remember your 'sparky' n just grill you about the new cowide
-
Oh christ, hi mitch. I thought the 'contructive critisism' bit at the bottom would prevent a post like this, but again, like many other times i have to explain myself once again. First of all, i'd like to say, nothing has ever gone to my head Mitch, if you'd have met me in real life you would know that. I have never said i am the best skin painter, i have never said my skins are 100% and never said they are wonderful. I've had my fair share of constructive critisism like this overtime, esspecially recently with modelling, but ask anyone who gave me it and find out whether i took it the right or wrong way. People helped me do what i do, so why shouldn't I try to help people aswell if i feel that they would want it or appreciate it. Your putting words into my mouth. However, i've painted alot of real life skins now, and i do know what i'm talking about, if you want your skins to look like the real things its sometimes the BIG things that matter, and to me the checks and randall logo are the defining thing on that paintjob, and not something which should simplily be overlooked or rushed. I rush some things on my skins because i know that they are barely noticable unless analysed closer. But ever big thing i've made sure i spend that alittle bit longer, and i know i get the results i crave then. Sparky, hope you don't take it that way, just as constructive critisism
