Without wanting to get in2 a different sort of thread, the beauty of HEAT is that it's really catered for all types of playerbility and levels so that it doesn't really matter if you are on keys, a pad or wheel - i don't think lap times really change that much. Obviously, if your looking to go into rfactor then perhaps spend your cash on a wheel or at the very least a pad with analogue sticks to control the power. As your an F2 man Sam, then as far as i'm aware some drivers have used: Leek is on keys for HEAT and has a wheel for rf Corny used to be on a joystick contoller, he certainly was in 2005 when he cleared up. Fozz was on a pad i think when he won a bucket load of titles in 2006.

I used to have a saxo 1.1 a few years ago. To be honest, i quite liked it......until the accelerator cable snapped and had a few problems with a couple of bits and pieces on it! As it's really a left hand build car but with the cables just stretched from the right hand side to the left hand part of the engine, i'd suggest changing them for a slightly thicker one than the bit of cheesewire that they use!

Absolute disgrace that BriSCA f2 have let off that idiot with a shortened ban. When/if he races again, and I really hope he doesn't, every race and every title he's involved with will have the crowds shouting cheat - there will always be that doubt.

This thread is going absolutely no-where. Stig - There are free leagues available which use nascar heat and the variations/add on's to change them to bangers/f1's etc. I'm sure if you used a search engine then you will be able to locate them - ukdirt isn't going to promote other leagues when this is the best place to race them. Your posts are quite confusing as they seem to talk about various aspects of hosting but are tangled all together hence why the responses you've had aren't specific either. Although i've never raced in a free league, i'd prefer to pay to have a decent server for an ageing game to minimise the warp issues that dogged us in 2007. If it's bangers your interested in then I believe Knobby is looking at 22+ cars for every heat next week - this would be in comparison to approx 12-15 in a free league and those 12-15 would probably be fairly jumpy anyway......... Not much of a decision to make.
