But i thought rfactor was about "driver ability" and not much to do with setups at all? I'm in agreement with the setups issue as its very rare for me to dish my F2 setups out after i spend 2 hours on a friday night and 4 hours on a Sunday night in jolt tweaking mine for the Monday nights meeting........ BUT that why i suggest an initial setup to be posted after each meeting for a few weeks only just so that everyone can start on a relative par WITHOUT spinning round every other corner. I'm not suggesting that it goes on all season long.

I could be totally wrong, as b4 my time, but when ukdirt went from DTRSC (?) to Nascar heat as the base game, didn't the winners from the meeting final have to post there final winning setup onto the old forum so that everyone could download it to use? Seemingly in the cross over period from heat to rfactor could it be considered again. Perhaps just for the 1st few weeks of the winter series which is currently going on and then stopped when the full season kicks in or when a new track is released and raced on for the 1st time-at least that way everyone will have a setup to use for that new season.

That's pretty spanking.

Speak for yourself Nick, I was shouting at the TV for the Argies to bury the jocks last week!

Happy biffaday bro.

You'll have to be a bit more patient i think lads. Various rumours going round won't really help and it'll make for a much better surprise IF and WHEN new chassis are released.

'Ave it!!! Top day out i thought, well worth the 150 sheets. It's done via www.incarace.co.uk and they also do something similar but with loons at Brum which looks like contact is allowed (not sure how much though) If you want hire our Mum for the rediculous noise then please, just take her...No charge! I think a few on here have done this such as Bathy, Parky and i no Budge has got his voucher to give it a go....maybe Mart and Spike could follow you in there cars!!

Just to clarify the skegness thingy, when the f2 admin team put together the fixture list for 2006 it was suggested that we give skeggy a go in an effort to use it in the uk open as per the real life F2 championship (albeit on shale rather than tar). Bathy did contact the person who made it (apologies, name eludes me at the mo) but they didn't have the files anymore to do anything else to it, but did gave there express permission for us to use the unfinished version if we wanted to. The team did a couple of private tests of it and it seemd to go quite well with 5 of us racing it but when we tried to do a public test at it in the off season it wasn't very popular so for that and a few different reasons we decided against using it in a meeting. I believe it was left on the downloads so that people could have access to another track for there own personal enjoyment.

Nope, Hutch is right that i live in a box. Unfortunately I cannot move my seat back as it's chained and bolted to the floor as the other patients with more mental health problems than me, have been known to go crackers when they don't get the correct tablets. Not sure i see the point in buying a wheel without pedals. Surely the whole point is to be able to control how much power you are putting down out of the bends rather than an "on or off" scenario that anyone with a pad uses at the moment. Still seems the only way forward for me personally is to buy a pad/joystick with some variety of throttle control option.

Sorry lads, but after many weeks of testing i really feel at a disadvantage not having a wheel and pedals. It's just 2 hard as more often that not when i'm on a half decent lap i put the power down and around i go. If i put the power down later than others around me are doing then i'm nearly a second a lap off the pace....call me a glory boy if you want but that ain't for me. If anything when i do go in the server, unlike many that race in ukdirt, i feel that i merely get in the way so i just pull off the racing line exactly the same as i did when i 1st started in this league in 2004. I'm not a "gamer" like some, but i'm a stock car fan hence why i play this. I'm in a situation where i just don't have the room to have a wheel with pedals next 2 my pc so it isn't for want of trying. I did actually purchase one but that ended up getting sold straight away due to the above. The graphics are top notch , the tracks are superb , the scoreboard with my number always at the bottom of it is just a kick in the nads though every time i go past it but it's a fantastic feature.....IMO the game is just 2 hard i'm afraid for someone who hasn't got a wheel with pedals.....using the analogue sticks is probably the last option that i can try but i have trialled them in the past back in 2004 but couldn't get on with them either!

Sad and stupid

It all comes down to personal opinion. Your opinion is that, as an example, Chris Moyles isn't family entertainment whereas the bosses of radio 1 and the millions of listeners do class him as him "acceptable". I persoanlly think he's what radio 1 have needed for some time, but that's a bit OT. With anything, people's opinions vary quite drastically. I believe Stoxnet's forum doesn't let you even post some quite "nominal" words, which is purely down to the owners of that site's opinion of what to establish as a swear word, whereas Kev149's filter on this forum is obviously a bit less strict as such.

I think you need to be a touch more realistic about the day and age that we live in. Driving to work most mornings you hear the words "crap" and "FILTERED" used on radio one by chris moyles, plus plenty of "double entenders" aswell. Always chuckle at mark and lard a few years ago in the afternoon with their "i'm not gay like but....." series. Best one was the i'm not gay like but i pack fudge in a fudge packing factory ..... etc etc. I assume this isn't aimed at a family orientated audience either?

OT: Erik posts on Jenny's account, Murph posts on eriks account which is locked (?), jenny doesn't really post at all. No chance of anyone actually hitting that log out button and logging back in under their real name? Kendo posting in kendo's account...or is it?

Absolutely fantastic vids. Love watching the in car footage from around the tracks.

Depends what you look like!!!

You mean like what that TRUE sportsman did at last years event in the F1's? I think the overseas chaps could be in with a shout. Let's face it, chances are NI901 Thompson and H24 Peeters will be row 3 (?) so there in with a great chance IMO. Sworder based on form this year at Arena should win it but surely Andy Ford and Simmo will know this aswell....could it be a case of fence sworder at the 1st opportunity b4 he gives it back!

Nascar heat and windows vista do not mix apparently. You need to download nascar heat essentials via the ukdirt website which in effect replaces the disc (as i understand it). From memory it's the slidey menu thingy then guides.......installation.....then nascar heat essentials.

Thanx for the few suggestions that have been put on this thread. Ultimately IMO it's down to personal preference.....i've used a pad for a many years so maybe the saying of old dog and new tricks comes to mind, not that i'm old or a dog for that matter! Wheel is now sold, with the money going towards a pad with some variety of throttle control, similar to the one that MoR posted up not so long ago.

For sale: Saitek R220 steering wheel with pedals (pix below) I bought it brand new from pcworld about a month ago purely with a view to using it for rfactor but, quite honestly, i've tried it a couple of times and i just can't get on with it at all probably because i've used a pad for ages! Altogether it's been used for about an hour so it's as close to brand new without actually being so. It cost me £30 plus £8 postage and packing as per it's listing here: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/product.php?sku=2..._Froogle_search I've got no idea if it's a good wheel or not but the same model is used by Parky in ukdirt so it can't be that bad!!! I'm quite open to offers as the money will be going towards a new pad with some sort of throttle control as i currently suck as rfactor!! It can be collected at a real life meeting aswell. If your interested then pm me or post here. [attachmentid=18507] [attachmentid=18508]
