  11. I think i'm right in saying if you copy your f1 ui.res file and replace the empty f2 one with it, it should be ok
  12. Welcome back JB The F2 mod hasn't changed other than a few updates with new cars over the past couple of years - all of the skin packs on the site are upto date although due to a couple of rule changes we do generally release a small skin pack most weeks mainly due to if a white, yellow or blue wins a final you automatically go up a grade. If you wanted to race from now then you'll need the packs from THIS post owards plus the skin packs on the ukdirt site. The F1's have had a fresh install so you'd need to start that from scatch again. There's also been a few new tracks released such as Kings Lynn New, Taunton and Mildenhall has had the wall adjusted (there's other new tracks as well but i think that's it for f1's and f2's). Warton has just been released as well although as of yet, to my knowledge, it's not been tested online. Bathboy has just adjusted you on the ukdirt site to show that you are a yellow in the F2's so you'll need to upload a new skin as soon as possible as the old one i have is a blue roofed randall06. Good to see you back mate
  13. My cheap shots are much cheaper than that. The point in your entire question to which has been answered is purely down to what people see as kamikaze moves.... IMO kamikaze manouvres need to be judged on an individual basis to which the admin teams look at - If we had rules to every given effect or scenario then the rules page would be bigger than Prydie's little black book (if you don't know Prydie then it's quite a big book) You posted the question, I answered with my take on things to which you disagree and now i disagree with you again.... this could go on for a long time. Ultimately, we ask that people don't blatantly ruin other people's races outside of what would be deemed fair (what is fair and what is not leads back to the non exhaustive list) I have ruined people's races by fencing them or putting them into a parked car in what i deem to be a fair way although should that person complain then I would be eligible to banned as much as anyone else.
  14. That's the biggest load of drivel i've ever read in my life - on this forum that takes some beating as well! You have complained in the F1's and it is being investigated so don't give me the nothing has been done line because other people have lives and will get back to your several complaints in due course. Kamikaze driving is what each mod's admin team deem to be that - it's not down to you to decide, it's the admin teams collective experience in online racing that will distinguish what is and what isn't acceptable. UKDIRT has the kamikaze rule in force so as not to totally guff up every race - clearly that wouldn't be acceptable but people that don't brake going into a bend is not kamikaze style - you'll find that most people hit then brake which IS like real life. Feel free to disagree with every move you like in the F2's - send them into me and i will look at them, but i think you understand the response that you will get back. There are several rules in place in ukdirt which give the admin teams the ability to award penalties to those whom we feel take things too far - the kamikaze driving is one of them but irrespective of your feelings, it's the admin teams that decide on what is too far and what isn't. I admit that some people's driving is at times borderline with there hits but the fact remains that kamikaze style driving is a follow in or right turning taking people to the fence and that is what we act against. If your definition of kamikaze driving is different to my take on it then perhaps you should run a mod - it won't be too hard as there won't be many people doing it! This rule has been in place since at least 2004 when i joined and probably since 2000/1 when ukdirt started - no-one else seems to have had a problem with it and i'd suggest that's at least 500 members if not more.
  15. 1st and foremost this thread will not turn into a driving standards one, there's been plenty of others in the past. What one person's take on kamikaze style driving is different to others. There's is a complaints procedure in place for each mod to which you should be aware of that having read the rules prior to racing in ukdirt, so if you think that you have had your race ruined by someone's kamikaze style then make sure you save the replay and complain to the approriate admin team members. The F2 mod's admin members choose to view the replays themselves watching out for various wrong doing's to which we act upon with or without a complaint from the drivers in question. Obviously this isn't a perfect scenario where we can view every replay from everyone's view but hopefully the really annoying problems of lap downing and follow ins that were, IMO, beginning to creap in during 2006 and early 2007 has been highlighted to an extent that it's quite an unusual occurance these days. Let's not forget that F1's and F2's are contact formula's and both sets of admin team's do view a lot of real life meets where plenty of contact is used. I've been at NIR today where i saw some no brakes, flat out attacks from several drivers including Bradbury886 launching Sworder152 into a parked car in the fence..... and was at Brum at the end of last year to see Stu Smith Jnr launch FWJ into several cars with a near enough follow in. - these were deemed to be acceptable. IMO kamikaze style driving which isn't acceptable was seen in the consolation semi Final with the now infamous Neachell vs Mad Murray incident to which if something similar happened online then each admin team would act if the appropriate complaint was put in as per the rules OR in the instance of F2's, if the admin team saw the alleged offence. From an F2 point of view, if you look at this thread HERE then you will see how many people the F2 admin team have acted against since 2006 which i do beleive is rather alot more than how many BriSCA have acted against in the same time. Edit - Many people see me as a "rodder" and i openly admit to having some words with people in the past about "hitting me" but to me that's more about racecraft as such rather than getting hit as i generally like to see a red or s/s "train" going round instead of hammering each other for 15th place ! There's always people in real life and online that if they are on your bumper they will hit you irrespective of what position it's for and what lap it's on - it's upto you to learn those people to know who to avoid and how to pass them - that's the racecraft....
  16. The only way he won't win it will be if he does a bucket load of F1 meetings. Polley was 2nd to him last year and he's sitting out the 1st month of racing although if it rains for the whole year non stop then he might do well again, Sworder will always crash out too much in the course of a season, Kitson will rent out his cars so will miss a few meets, Batten's got health issues, Burgoyne is quick enough but does he travel that much and timmy for gold has got a family so seems to be concentrating on a focus for gold. Even if it's close come late summer then he'll just race at 8 cowdie meetings on the trot against 11 other cars. Big zero at Kings Lynn though was brilliant to watch
  17. What can i say....the guy is a legend . Absolute top class on Saturday night at Kings Lynn [attachmentid=23453]
  18. Happy birthday u old dog!
  19. With all due respect Scrapman I think most of the the points you are making are pointless. The time the later meeting will finish won't be much later than UKDIRT generally has been finishing over the past few years anyway so it doesn't really matter which one finishes at 10.30pm. It's not about admin members who go to real life racing - in fact it wasn't even discussed in any way about which admin members will be about and who won't be. It was felt that the majority or certainly a good percentage of RACERS irrespective of their status or role wouldn't be able to race on a sunday when the real life season's begin - not exactly giving the racers of the league the best choice is it? Sorry guys, as i said in my earlier post, NO option is ideal - the option that will be used is one that the admin team feel will give as many people the option of racing in one or both mods should they choose and that means an alternating start time each Thursday for fairness to each mod.
  20. I feel quite sorry for the F1 admin team regarding this but in addition, as an admin member for a different mod to which is being moddled for rFactor then it's quite a daunting time given the negativity of some. The admin team as a whole were faced with a very difficult decision about the options available to the F1's for 2008, and as most posts on this thread show, no option would be suitable for everyone. IMO, 2008 will be a transistional year for the F1's but rFactor is the future and we cannot ignore the fact the at some point in that future, HEAT will probably not run online either at all or without huge warp issues to which we all saw at some point last year. In an effort to please as many people as possible and also to reduce the "which mod races at what time" debate then it seemed the sensible thing to do to have a rotating start time. Once again, it won't please everyone but it does came back to the no option would be suitable for everyone scenario. It's no secret that i'm not the biggest lover of rFactor but i'd urge everyone to give the F1 season 2008 a go be it whichever you want to race in-that's the whole point in what the admin teams have done in this case - the options are there for people to race. If you can't make it because of work or other commitments then unfortunately so be it . The admin members who have made this decision won't always be able to race, something that we shouldn't forget either, but they've tried to make the best out of the situation given a very even result in the recent poll.
  21. When you register for any of the leagues the database will only allow you to pick a number that isn't currently in use. I'm sure Counter will be in touch via email in the next few days although I can't stress enough that he's having some issues with his back which means he struggles to sit for any length of time. Coupled with the fact that it will be the busiest time for him as ukdirt finance chap due to the renewals, it may take some time. MC is the ukdirt webmaster so any specific queries about the database or if you've made a mistake with registering numbers should be referred to him.
  22. I'm not really sure what help you need then? If you've sent payment then Counter will update things over the next few days. Bear in mind he's struggling with his back and has been for a while. Anything specific?
