chris Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 tis a long wait till febuary so i decided to get gtr from www.pcfun.de,i orderd the game on 13th dec and the game came this mornin 16th dec,the game is german but can be patched and all the menus,loading screens pit sounds can be translated to english cost about 35 quid for the game then 10 quid to transport from germany and to post well worth it if any of u want to order from pcfun.de u need to register with a user name and email addy the site is in german but all the text can be translated by using http://babelfish.altavista.com/ or any other site that can change text from german to english,only takes a few mins to apply the patches and other things to make the game english these files r on http://www.m4driving.it/files/33,1.html still gota try multiplayer yet but on reading a few forums it is ment to be very good

This v2.0 demo again features the Spa-Francorchamps circuit (now at dusk) drivable in arcade, semi-professional and simulation modes in the Saleen (GT class) and Ferrari 360 (NGT class) cars. also international gtr release date been put back to early march

About 2 hrs after i got it home, i had a phone call from step-daughter to ask if we had any spare non-football or wrestling games to trade in, as Game were offering GT4 for 99p with 4 trades................. still...... 2 copies of the game for the family for £31 cant be too bad heres to the long winter nights that GT4 SHOULD have been released for......lmao best wishes ......... JohnMid Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 Well, I spoke too soon, and it looks like I won't be playing GTR any time soon. The game flatly refuses to do anything past checking the disk. The mouse cursor pauses for a bit, then it's as if I never even clicked on the icon. Every "solution" I've read about so far seems to involve pulling out half of the computer from the case, and there's no way I'm monkeying around like that for the sake of one game, however good. Also, GT4 hasn't come yet, so I can't even console myself (ho ho) with that. Good job the ukdirt season is about to get underway.

I had problems with the 2nd demo after having the 1st 1 installed, and ended up having to uninstall the 1st 1, deleting the GTR folder, and remove anything that looked like it belonged to the game in the registry. Done this before I installed the full version and it worked perfect. Haven't had much time to really get into it as I'm too busy with skins at the mo, but one thing that's kinda puting me off it is the way the front of the car seems to bobble up and down when driving in the in-car and bonnet views, it gets kinda distracting. Is there any way to turn this off? (I doubt it).

It's especially nice that it doesn't even give any message that something's wrong, which would at least be a start. I'm going to try again tonight, and I'm going to remove my firewall and virus checking software. After that, the gtr disc gets "filed".

I wonder if the caterham is much different to a 67 F1 car, I've done a few laps at the ring in one of those I might be able to give GTR another go at the weekend, as I'll hopefully be pulling the computer apart and putting in the 6800le graphics card my cousin is giving me.
