  1. 2? where do you live? About 400 yards from you Kevin A spaniards stones throw as some would say Not so much the inner wall though it is a pain The real downfall started as you say when the layout was changed. Large sections of the inside of the corners were removed in order to make the track more attractive to the National Hot Rods (Came up once and said thank's but no thank's) and the Brisca F1s (Still come up once a year and are very welcome at that but for me are more of a noise spectacle round Cowdenbeath and look a lot better at Knockhill the following day). So for one extra formula visiting once a year the F2 and Saloon racing has suffered ever since You might be right Stu but nothing ventured nothing gained i say as the 2lrs are dying on their elbows up here.
  2. I'll be making the trip as well, all 2 miles of it I hope it's as good as tonight's saloon racing when a whole 11 saloons bothered to turn up . One of them even clipped the wall at one stage
  3. My latest. Thank's to MOR for the render and Scrapman for the skins originally
  4. I'll defo have one but i need some kind hearted soul to do me a render 1st.
  5. You'd think after Diggy losing two 2lr WFs in the scrutineering bay the Smith family penny would have dropped by now
  6. The much hyped Saturday night thunder series finals took place tonight for the F2s and 2lr Saloons with an astonishing 14 cars taking to the track for each race. The F2 final was surprisingly won by #281 Jim Harris after #79 Moodie had struggled and ultimatly failed despite a last bend lunge to pass a car that he normally leaves for dead before lap 1 is out most weeks #79 Moodie was suddenly back on his usual pace again to win both heats and his 100th final at a stroll and then also took the GN with a massive slice of help from the race steward who decided that a yellow flag stoppage was required for two cars that had tangled together but had come to a halt safely in the home straight lay-by thus enabling #79 to go from a 3/4 of a lap down 4th place to a right on the tail of the 1st three 4th place. the race was a foregone conclusion from then on The 2lr saloon £1000 pound winner was British Champ #207 Darren Bradford who lead home World Champ #402 Shaun Webster after the Scots had finished removing each other. The following 2 heats which were not bad went to #618 and #17 before #71 won an instantly forgettable final #768 Archie Mason easily won the Prostox Scottish Championship in a meeting that as usual ended up one rule for the have's and another rule for the have not's Anyone know the 1300 Saloon world final result from Swaffham by the way. I decided last minute not to go and do Cowdenbeath instead. Silly me. :EDIT: 1300 Saloons Wf 1st. 511 Jody Bryant 2nd.191 Aaron Morris 3rd. 392 Julian Smith
  7. Oi You ain't got time to think Scraps. Have you got me an ariel for the astra yet or been up the loft hunting for those magazines Seriously i have had people ask me (usually when they stop laughing ) what all this sitting in front of a computer with a steering wheel in front of me on a Thursday is all about. Rather than direct them to the uk dirt site my standard answer is come round one night and i'll show you. Therefore i agree that the website could be more appealing to those new to the world of online stock car racing.
  8. Yeah i go on there now and again Trav. Just never bothered to register or post. Hmm. It says on there #79 still has 1 final to go to reach 100 but i could have sworn skeet (on the roving mike this weekend) announced it was 100 today. And he did do a fair amount of do-nuts for what was a run of the mill K/Hill meeting.
  9. No problem mate. You are actually in the unique position of getting the results before the chequered flag drops most races the racing is usually so dull. By the way the reason you only get the top 5 is that i can't text quick enough to give you the top ten
  10. Ditto mate. Just noticed this on Stoxnet. Get well soon Bill
  11. I know who she is. I had a feeling she'd be in it. (Can't figure out what car she's parked on though ) But do my eyes deceive me. No Sam Holland on the list. Best get down to eastbourne way asap and get some pics. If you'd seen her in her chequered bikini at the Ipswich weekend you'd know it makes sense.
  12. Don't send any to the Cowdie track shop for sale. If the time it takes Short Circuit to reach there is the yardstick we'll be onto July by the time they arrive P.S c'mon give us a 1 month preview. Otherwise how do we know it's not 12 pics of the woman at the gate at Ipswich that dishes out the pass out's
  13. What has happened to the meeting results/reports being posted on here. With the exception of the SSC Scottish last week there have been no Cowdenbeath results posted on here since the 14th of August and English meeting reports have been few and far between as well. For the record # 79 Gordon Moodie won his 100th F2 final at an unusually wet Knockhill this afternoon at an absolute canter after none of the other drivers put in any sort of challenge despite being in good positions to do so. Fair play btw. I'm no fan but even i admit 100 finals is a good achievement He'd probably have won the final last night as well had he not run into someone elses accident on the pit bend. Nice to see 8 visiting drivers last night and i think 6 of them stayed for today. The stock rod orc champ was won by 29 David Philp after what to my mind was some dubious stewarding decisions in favour of the home drivers. Outlaw Hot rod world cup was won after about 45 mins and a few thousand ££££s of panel damage by #7 Ian Mcguigan. (Can we change these to the Spedeworth/NI 2ltr spec asap please GMP as this formula is a dead duck that serves only to deny the Minis/Prostox/Stock Rods track time and create gridlock at the pie shop ) Saloons Crimmond v GMP thingy this afternoon was ok. Top marks go to #71 Gordon Alexander who must get 1 or 2 of the Crimmond drivers to keep he spun them so many times. Cheers
  14. Missed this post up till now. £10 from me as well. Plz pm me name and address to send cheque to Tugs. :EDIT: Doubled for a win from me as well.
  15. Congratulations mate. And remember, It's never to early to call your solicitor.
  16. Foxhall and Cowdenbeath up till 1986
  17. Big one nine? You've finally reached 10 then Have a good one HAcK
  18. Like all the above posts i remember Stuart as a man who would help others without a thought for himself. I also don't remember him having a bad word to say about anyone. Just a friendly big guy basically. When i raced 1/12ths with Stuart some years ago he was rarely at the sharp end of the results, but he never complained and was quite content to be taking part. A attitude that did him proud and that many, (myself included) would to well to take heed of. STUART #63
  19. It just about sums 2ltr Saloons up for me. The phrase flogging a dead horse springs to mind. The only decent meeting up here in ages and it ends in farce. You're not allowed to x-drill the cam, thus improving lubrication and preventing possible engine damage and thus reducing potential costs, but you are allowed to machine the head as it is "unpolicable" to outlaw it. How it is unpolicable is beyond me. Surely if it is machined other than it was when it left ford's factory then it is beyond the rules I mean no disrespect to the drivers and teams whos effort and expence is unquestionable, but the formula just hasn't got it anymore. 1300s anytime Please
  20. Has that ever happened before that there wasnt an English Winner of any of the Rod Worlds (Nationals, 2Ltrs or Stock-rods?) 27401[/snapback] Certainly has Andy. As recently as 2002. NHR 942 Davy McCall 2Ltr 970 John Murray SR 77 Alan Connelly All from NI
