  1. Shame a big race is decided like this, especially when there is no deliberate intention to cheat. Fair play to Purdie though. He used his bumper all weekend and does indeed deserve a major title after all these years. Best wishs to Soaps from me as well. It was a dull one he took.
  2. Black Jacket behind Pedz is ex online F1 and NHR racer Barney (52) Also just out of shot is BB. Guess i was away at the al-fresco toilet but you've got a nice angle of my jacket hanging over the barrier where i'm usually stood P.S The guy at the back with his hand on his face who made a once in a blue moon appearance last night is actually the man who kicked off the peach invasion at Ipswich in 1990
  3. 38 Now. Seems i can get a crunched up bit of paper set up better than my F1
  4. 34. Guess i need to get out more often
  5. Just back from Englandshire so a day late. Hope you had a good one and got some nice pressies. (esp videos )
  6. I was at that meeting and it is one of the hardest and scariest impacts i've seen in many years. (Trav was there and said basically the same and he sees a lot more racing than me) My thought's are with Simon and his family and here's hoping he recovers quickly from his injuries.
  7. Ht 1 167, 111, 886, 393, 254 Ht 2 642, 717, 613, 430, 890 Cons 667, 676, 612, 226, 509 Final 667, 393, 886, 38, 111 Results from Trav who said the final was "superb"
  8. F2 Ht 1 79, 647, 82 Ht 2 318, 647, 79 Final 79, 318, 281 GN 647, 773, 281 Stock Rods Ht 1 78, 17, 338 Ht 2 17, 647, 612 Ht 3 338, 131, 647 Final 131, 647, 84 Not the worst of meetings tonight again. Can't remember the banger winners, sorry but the DD was pretty good for only having 6 cars. I suppose this is a result of the drivers being asked to restrain a bit on the early contact this year and make the cars last a bit longer than heat 1. You can't blame anyone for not DDing a car that is perfectly ok for another meeting One of the biggest Stock Rod incidents i've seen in a while when 232 was pushed by at least 2 other cars head first into one of the big tyres which sent him vertically upwards before landing on his side on the other side of the tyre. No wonder he looked a bit stiff when he got out. Only blackmark from me tonight is to GMP for still charging my mates wife £5 quid to get in despite there being only the F2gn, the Stock rod final and the DD to go.
  9. It could be me as well i suppose, lol i've been called worse . I wouldn't say i "slag off" the racing. I just give my opinion of what i have paid to watch, which just so happens to be quite poor most weeks. Unlike Scrappy i still go most weeks so more often that not i make comment on the racing. Maybe it would be better if we all live in the ideal world of positive reports only and make this a happy, all is good type forum. But i don't think everthing in the garden is rosy and i'm not going to lie and say otherwise. Personally i think the "certain muppet who shall not be named" is Hack and Sparky just forgot that he had named him 12 words earlier P.S Sparky If one of your "some people who are bringing memorable bits into the racing" is Prostock/Banger 152 then sorry, but like him or not sooner rather than later one of his "Memorable bits" is going to hurt someone.
  10. Yep. F2s were pretty poor. No more than they were at Skeg last week mind you, the only difference being that there were less of them being poor tonight. Saloons were better tonight in numbers and action but it still spoils it for me that almost every incident is immediately followed by a yellow flag. Was i the only one surprised that Prostock No 152 re-appeared for the allcomers race after taking the huff at being spun out in the final and hitting a stationary car after the reds, a stationary car that contained a driver with no helmet or harness on i might add. It might not have been at high speed but i'd have thought that would be an absolute no-no . Not the first time a blind eye has been turned to his antics mind you. With any luck he might have picked on the wrong people this time
  11. I never made it down the street on Friday for a change. Just propped up the bar at the campsite then fell my bed where i stayed for 11 hrs Biggest disappointment for me was the racing. Will do T In The Park next year instead
  12. 24.586 secs. TIP: The blue shapes move in the same pattern every time. After a few goes it is possible to memorise them until they get really fast.
  13. <<<< because she's a honey of course
  14. I echo all of the above sentiments and sympathies. RIP
  15. Great weekend again with the Nationals, Supers and especially the 1300 saloons stealing the show although the sight of 70 bangers rolling out of the pits was something else, even though the race was not as hectic as i'd expected. Well done to Keith Martin on finally winning the world . If it had gone the full 75 laps i think Phil Spinks would have been close again. I never met anyone from here due to my stubborness to move more than 5 feet from my cool bag on the Saturday and my being unable to even move 5 feet on the Sunday so apologies for my ignorance. Minime should have won at least a couple of races but was done on the last bend in one and was put to the back for ever so slightly jumping a restart in another (overtook the pace car on turn 3 ) Great stuff as usual, All booked up for 2006
  16. Yes spectators can stay at the Showground. We stayed there for a few years before the lure of a comfartable bar got too much and we moved to Orwell Meadows, finding that many other drivers/teams stop there as well. Hope too speak to some of you that are going.
  17. Leaving tomorrow teatime and stopping the night halfway down the road. We're lording it in our backstraight marquee again this year but alcohol permitting i'll try and get out and about at some point over the weekend. Are you staying at Orwell Meadows campsite Spudspeed? You (or at least your car) were next to us in 2002 and you (or one of your team) gave us a crate of beer when you were leaving on the Sunday after you'd won the Budweiser 500 I'll go some way to repaying the favour if i see you over the weekend.
  18. I'll probably be in there at some stage.
  19. Happy Birthday BB
  20. Fair enough Hack, you like him and he did well and truly dominate the meeting but to write "who cares" in the 2nd 3rd places is pretty disrespectful to the other drivers who put in the time and effort to race knowing that they are probably only racing for the minor places anyway. Or would you rather just see 79 plodding round on his own every week
  21. Very Good
  22. Jack: "Scuse me mate, Will you tell this clown this is not the way to sodding Amarillo"
  23. Ditto Mav. Never in bed before 2am and superb racing with hardly a follow in in sight. I learnt a lot in there as well. Big Al, Jok, Dragon and Mac were others i remember with regular late night servers. Scrapman and Barney had been on at me about the game all through 2001 and when i got my pc early 2002 Scrappy quickly installed installed it for me I was nightshift for a while and was scheduled to make my debut at Cowdenbeath in June, however that night my dial-up connection decided not to play ball for the first time so i had to wait a week and made my debut at NIR in the Euro where i qualified on pole and finished 2nd behind all conquering Jok (79). Before the end of my first month i'd won Finals a Bradford and Newtongrange which sent me up to blue for month 2, and that with the exception of 1 meeting at yellow last year is where i have stayed for 3 years. Shifts have hampered my appearances lately but i'm in a new job now where shifts are not on the agenda at the moment so i'm hoping to do a lot more meetings from now on. Apart from the odd outing in a rod and a charity F2 meeting i've stuck to F1s. After practicing getting the 1 to go round i don't have time race anything else. My only gripe is the lack of F1 racing online compared to those days mentioned away back at the start of this post but i suppose the other formulas have to get their time too. I've met many many great people through this online adventure. If someone told me 4 years ago that 1 day i'd drive down to Ipswich on my own in October and meet up with a dozen or so other people when i get there i'd have laughed, but that's what happened last October and on other occasions as well. Thanks again to all involed in making this possible. You know who you are
  24. Craparama. I'm not a fan and i don't know if he cheated or not but i do think, A. His ban was too severe B. He should have been allowed to race under appeal C. The world final would have been a better race with him in rather than out. Shame common sense was not applied as usual
  25. NHR is dead on it's feet if cars like the tigra and 206cc are the future The cars are supposed to be saloon/hatchback bodied. Not baby pick up bodied. As was mentioned on another forum. Ain't the 206cc going to look good with it's wide wheels, fancy panels and luggage bars running along the roof. If the new breed of hatchbacks are too wide for the rules then change the rules. Don't leave the drivers no option than to race these things. No disrespect they've made a good job of them. They just don't look right. A hairdressers car? I doubt if any self respecting hairdresser would be seen dead in one
