  1. Hello Guys, Here are the movers and shakers after the second grading period. These grades are to take effect for Thursdays UK Open Championship meeting. Up to Superstar 136, 290 Up to Red 318, 39 Down to Red 137 Up to Blue 291 Down to Blue 315 Down to White 164 Congratulations to all those drivers that have been promoted. Comisserations to those that have been down graded. Cheers Johno
  2. Thank you very much to kruiz for running the meeting. You did a superb job despite not being able to race. Well done to MoR for taking the meeting final. Cant wait to see the replay and see who I need to have a word with for letting you win Again an imporved night for me. I felt more on the pace. The final was disappointing, becasue I didnt race it!! lol!! I just need to concentrate on not spinning now, and I should start to see some results. Anyway, thansk to everyone who raced. Next week is the first big meeting of the season, so make sure you are all there!!! Cheers Johno
  3. I could be in - depending if I can catch up on all the downloads in time! Do I need V1.1 installed too? Yes you do LSF - hope yu can do it in time.
  4. Until 7pm as I am feeling nice
  5. RULE CHANGE After noticing that the pole man of each grade appears to win majority of the races, especially the last four finals, the F1 Admin Team have decided to change the rules slightly when it comes to gridding the final. The Grand Final will now be gridded grades within grades according to the average points chart for each surface. This will mean that the driver with the highest average in their grade, will start at the back of the grade. This is effectively what we did last year in F1, and we believe that it will be a success in rfactor. The points chart used, as stated above, will be the average surface points charts, which can be found on Kev's site by clicking on the links to the right. (Shale and Tarmac) Whilst these tables are updated regularly, in the event that they are not 100% up to date, I will calculate it and attach the spreadsheet to the MI so you can check your position, and to if I have gridded you correctly. PLEASE NOTE: Should you win a race, then you start at the back of your grade for every other race except the final (eg if you win heat 1, you start at the back of your grade for the second heat and the grand national. The final is the only race where you may not start at the back of your grade). If there are any problems, or I have not explained this very well, then please post here, and I will reply to your query tomorrow, or perhaps a member of the admin team will spot it and hopefully clear up any query you may have.
  6. BRADFORD SHALE - THURSDAY 19TH MAY - 7:30PM After a couple of weeks chasing those vital world championship qualifying points, its time for a break from them, and a move back onto the shale of Bradford. Bradford produced a cracking meeting early on in the season, and I would expect the same to ahppen again, with LeeK #39 no doubt looking to take his forth final win of the season, and his second at the West Yorkshire track. One points championship that has not be mentioned thus far is the whites and yellows championship. We are now onto round 4 of the series, with all points scored in the meeting counting towards the points charts. Marky #18 currently leads the championship, but with him, and second place Jimmy #259 cureently at the blue grade, their is a oppotunity for the next three in the list, Johno #3, Vegas #202 and Marten #291 to try and catch up. A full list can be found on Kev's site by clicking here. 9 cars are currently booked in, with four of these being whites or yellows, and whilst these drivers may not be challenging for the gold, it still could be a classic points championship. I would expect the bookings to rise closer to the 20 mark, as last weeks attendance was very good, with a few missing, so make sure you get yourself booked in. So, with that exciting change, we will see who will take the final at Bradford this week, and if it is in fact the guy that starts on pole of their grade, plus, we will be keeping our eyes on those lower grade drivers as they battle for their whites and yellows points. Cheers Johno
  7. Thanks very much to MoR for running the meeting, and running the meeting so quickly, I was back to camp so quick the kids were still up Well doen to LeeK for taking his third final of the season. I think I helped him a little bit by wipingout a few cars early on, which was not my intention. Personally, things were going better, as I was not as far off the pace as I have been in recent weeks. That can only be good for my future. However, I still have those moments where I just dont concentrate, and end up spinning. They need to be solved!!! Cheers Johno
  8. Whilst rFactor F1 has made a good impact on UK Dirt, and appears to have a solid foundation of which we can build on, the next step is to try and entice more drivers to try out the game. Baring this is mind, we have made a couple of changes to the rules. NOVICE SKINS TO BE ALLOWED IN MEETINGS: Novice skins will now be permitted in rfactor F1 meetings. This will mean that should you wish to sample an rfactor meeting, you may use a novice skin to do so. After two meetings, should you find you have enjoyed the experience, Kruiz #136, has kindly offered to do anyone a basic skin, so a PM his way and I am sure he would be happy to help. This means that should you wish to race a third meeting, we are looking for you to be in your own skin by then. PRE GRADING DIRVERS: We will now be pre grading any driver that has not already raced rfactor. This means that if you raced heat before, there is a very good chance you will not be starting at your heat grade. All you need to do is state your intent to race, by PM to myself or a member of the admin team, and we will discuss your grade, and let you know. We appreciate this is effectively a new formula, hence the change. FINALLY......A COUPLE OF FIXTURE CHANGES. Just a quick reminder that due to Skegness not quite being ready, the UK Open has been swapped with the Ipswich world championship qualifying round. The new dates are as follows: IPSWICH WQR3 - 22nd May 2008 SKEGNESS - UK OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP - 5th June 2008 Furthermore, it is unlikely that Buxton is going to be ready for its first fixture of the season, therefore the Bradford Tarmac meeting scheduled for August will be brought forward and given world championship qualifying status, with Buxton having is first meeting in august. The dates are as follows: BRADFORD TARMAC – WQR 6/W+Y 5 – 19th June 2008 BUXTON - W+Y 10 – 28th August 2008 The fixture list flyer indicates these changes, and the UK Dirt website will indicate this change in due course (when I get back from my school outing). Cheers Johno
  9. I wish that would ahve an effect!! I need to stop spinning first
  10. Forgot to mention, congratulations to Matty #300. Scored over 30 points in the meeting meaning he is automatically upgraded to yellow. Congratulations.
  11. Pleased to hear it
  12. Hello Mr Beef, I am afraid I am going to have to disagree with you here on a few minor details. (1) Not one person said that you were having problems, we were however told by many that you were missing. (2) We did actually reset the server, and Dan also went back into chat to see if you were there. Can I also add, that I was in chat all night (as I use two computers when racing rfactor), and you could have come in here and told me you were having problems, or even appeared in there once they were sorted out to let me know you cant get in. This happened with Matty #300 in either the heat or the final, and I restarted the race for him and as lkong as we dont get mutiple restarts, I will restart it if I know there is a problem for anyone. When everyone was asked to stay in the server, and someone disappears at the end of the race (actually after the race had finished) with out a word, its hard for us to know the reasons why. Therefore we went to race as we told everyone we would, but we then restarted it and Dan went back to chat to look for you. Whilst I appreciate your disappointment, I am sure you can appreciate that we have to try and get through the early meetings as quick as we can. Last night was a big night for Heat F1 with them having their first major title, and we wanted to make sure that everything was ready and sorted, and we were hoping to allow people a bit of time for practice for that meeting. I am pleased to say we achieved this, and the same principle will be applied for when it is rfactors turn to hold thier first title. Finally, I hope this does not discourage you, or anyone else from racing rfactor F1, as the racing was sensational last night. I was one of the many doubters about this league at first, and I can now honestly say, that despite being very poor at it, I am really really enjoying it, and I hope many more people will give it ago, and who knows, maybe even like it as much as I do. Perhaps when all is said and done, better communication would have solved this problem. Cheers Johno
  13. Hello Guys, As I announced in chat, the date of the rfactor UK Open will be changed. Unfortunately, Skegness is not quite ready. It is not far away, therefore we are postponing it until 5TH JUNE 2008. We understand that you maybe a little disappointed, but having seen pictures of the track, it is sensational and deserves this title. This will mean that next week, Ipswich world qualifying round will be run, with it effectively becomig a straight swap. Too sum up........ IPSWICH WQR3 - 22nd May 2008 SKEGNESS - UK OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP - 5th June 2008 Cheers Johno
  14. Evening Guys, Sorry they are a little late. I ahve been racingthe Heat UK Open of course, and then had to sort out one or two problems. Onto the meeting, and I thought the racing was really good. When I was not spinning, I was having some really good battles with people, and for once I was hitting people and they were going where they were meant too Looking at the results, and it was a final win for DB #318. Drove a solid race from pole blue, which seems the position to be in at the minute. Elsewhere, there were good heat wins for Marten #291, DanSkin #236 and Hutch #331. Kruixx #136 took the final race of the night, the grand national, on his way to being the top points scorer of the meeting. Also...... There are to be a few little changes to be announced that will hopefully benefit rfactor F1, so please look out for these over the weekend. Also, I will not be here next week (turning up to race on thursday night) as I will be camping with the school, so if there are any problems can you please direct them at either DANSKIN, or another memeber of the admin team. Thanks to everyone that raced tonight, and made it a entertaining meeting. Personally, I am really starting to get into this, I just need to learn to stop spinning!!!! Cheers Johno

  16. bookings now closed. Just Grasser added, 18 cars, two thirds format.
  17. I am willing to accept late booking up until 7pm. Dont forget, world qualifying points up for grabs, and Dazza not booked in, so a good chance for it to all close up at the top. Grasser #233
  18. Hello Guys, After a break from scoring world championship qualifying points, Hednesford still produced some classic rfactor F1 action. All you need to do is look on the results thread and you can see what I mean. But this week, it is back to the shale and back to scoring those world championship qualifying point at Belle Vue. The first meeting of the season was at Belle Vue and was a classic, with Kruiz coming through to take the final win an Hutch top scoring over the meeting. Looking down the world qualifying points chart, and after a cracking Kings Lynn meeting, Dazza #290 has got himself a healthy lead. Thre is no doubt that he will be looking to imrove on this lead, which of course will give him a choice of semi final venue come those all important races. Hutch #331 was another driver to rise up the chart though, and he will be looking to try and reel in Dazza. As it stands at the minute, only 20 people have scored world championship qualifying points, but I expect that number to rise. Either way, the more points you get. the higher up the semi final grids you get, and in rfactor, it is a big advanatge to be as close to the front as possible. The full world championship qualifying points chart can be foun by clicking here Moving onto look at the booking list, and as it stands, there is no Hutch #331 or Dazza #290. One would expect that they are leaving booking in till the last minute, but if not, there is a good chance for people to catch them up in the world championship qualifying points chart, and the national points chart. 14 drivers are currently booked in, although this may well reach nearer the 20 mark. Belle Vue produced a classic meeting first time out, and to be honest, I would expect nothing less from this classic track. But in order to experience it, you have to be a part of it, so get yourslef booked in for part 1 in a classic night of F1 racing. Cheers Johno
  19. Evening Guys, Late bookings / cancelations are to be posted here. MoR is your race manager tonight and says that he is happy to keep bookings open until the start of the meeting. Cheers Johno
  20. Grade changes made on the UK Dirt sight. Remmeber, these come into play this week therefore you need to make sure that you have the right colour roof and start at the right grade. With the UK Dirt website being up to date now - check there if unsure. Cheers Johno
  21. I think I can officially confirm that not one of them tyres move - I think I managed to try the whole lot on thursday night, and that is after the first meeting there when I only hit one!!
  22. We actually tried to set this up last night (granted a bit last minute) and I went in a tested it in the server very quickly (think only LeeK was in there) and we couldnt get it to work. I do know that Dan has this set up, and I will look into getting mine set up as well properly as well.
  23. Thanks very much Dan for running the meeting for us. You did a superb job, and I am sure it wont be the last. Congratulations to Dazza on a truly dominant performance tonight. Was faster than anyone else and results rerally showed that tonight. Ok, so I suppose you want to know what happened at the start of the final........ Well it's quite simple, as I typed 'gogogogogogogogogo' I caught the return button which meant that half of the people went and half didnt go (me included). I infact didnt realise until people started passing me on the first turn to which I did my usual and promptly spun. I do apologise to anyone that it inconvenienced, but at the minute we have to have someone who is racing taking care of the stewarding at the same time as racing. Until the race numbers increase, this is likely the way that we will have to go. I have been doing this since the start of the season, and this is the first time I have made a mistake, although that is no excuse. Before you ask me why I didn't restart it, I wasnt sure how to reset a race in the rfactor server, and had not become the admin within the server either. I can assure you this is being rectified to make sure this doesnt happen again (with there being multiple admin members in furture races), and we are looking into a possible solution to the stewarding problem. Anyway, my night was not too good. I think I hit about ten tyres and spun about 6 times so in the end I gave up a little and retired. O well, there is always Hednesford next week........ o thats right, I didnt make it round the first bend without spinning last time there Cheers Johno
  24. Hello DB, They go on the points for grading period two. It's the same in real life. The grading period ended before Kings Lynn, so therefore them points go onto the next grading period. Hope that helps. Cheers Johno
