Evening guys, Thanks very much to everyone that raced tonight, and Kev for stewarding the meeting. A big well done to Jarry for taking tonights final, and joint top scoring with Matthew. In doing so, Jarry gets promoted to yellow under the above 30 points rule, so a big well done to him. BIRMINGHAM – WQR 7 – THURSDAY 3RD JULY 2008 After returning to the shale of Kings Lynn last week, this week we return to the tarmac of Birmingham, and once again chase those valuable world championship qualifying points. The last meeting at Birmingham was the first meeting this season on the tarmac, and with 21 cars in attendance, it was an absolute classic. Dominant driver on the day was Sybe #315 who took both his heats and the final, and he has since followed this up with another final win just last week at Kings Lynn. Other race winners on the day included DB #318 with a heat win, and Dazza #290 with the Grand National win. When it came to the points, Sybe was the top scorer, but it was Matthew #413 and Hutch #331 that were second and third. Looking down the world championship qualifying point’s chart, 28 people have taken part with 26 people scoring at least a point. Top of the tree at the minute is Dazza #290. He has a 42 pint lead over LeeK #39 who sits in second place. Hutch #331 and Kruiz #136 are just a further one point back, with Mathew #413 a further two points back. This means that second to fifth is split by only 3 points as they battle for front row semi final spots. Unfortunately, neither Hutch nor Kruiz are likely to improve on their point’s total. A full list of the World Qualifying point’s can be found by clicking here. Currently 15 cars are booked in, and I would expect this to rise to nearer 20. However, this is a superb opportunity for those that have not tried rfactor before to not only have a race and see what they think about it, but also have a good chance to qualify for a semi final and therefore possibly do battle for the first ever UK Dirt rFactor F1 World Championship. There is no doubt that Birmingham is a superb track for tarmac rfactor F1 racing, and as he get to the business end of the qualifiers, there are many people that would love to be higher up the grid, and that can only help to add to the classic racing that rfactor has already seen. Cheers Johno

Thanks first of all to DanSkin for running the meeting for me, and to Kev for stewarding all the races. Thanks to everyone that raced tonight, and congratualtions to Sybe on taking the final win. Well done also on becoming top scorer along with Dazza, who seems to really have a liking for Kins Lynn. Personally, it was a cracking night for me. I have never scored so many points in my life!! Probably wont do the same feat this year. However, I must say it was slightly disappointing to only see 12 cars booked in. Now I know that some people are not happy about the split times, but that clearly aint the problem as far as this season has gone as we normally have between 16 and 20. I did wonder if it was because there was nothing major to play for? Another reason is that a lot of the rtegulars were away today - perhaps holidays or just people being busy? Anyway, what I am asking, is for some constructive input into how to improve this league, or perhaps reasons why, this particular meeting suffered? And befre anyone mentions changing day, or changing start times, the answer is no, as the league has worked pretty well until now. And just a small reminder, we have relaxed the skin rules (plus another slight rule change to be announced over the weekend for those already with skins in the game), so if you fancy coming and giving it a try, there isno need o submit a skin until you are confident you want to race. So come and join us and give us ago, as some of the racing this season has been epic!! Before I sign off, and let you go off into a debate (which I can only hope is a constructive one), I will accpet that I am a little to blame. I was writing previews every week, and trying to build a bit of suspense into the meetings, and these have just stopped. For my part, I will make sure each week, each league has a preview (I will start taking my laptop to work and writing them again). Also, over the next couple of weeks, you should see some meeting reviews appearing onthe Kev149.com, as I get my behind into gear and write them. Anyway, please make this thred a constrictive one, or else I will close it. Cheers Johno

Evening again guys, Thanls to everyone that raced tonight, and congratualtions to all those that scored world championship qualifying points. In Answer to your question Mav - your in a semi final!! Anyway, well done to Tosh #8 on taking the final. It was apparently a very good battle between himself and DanSkin, but a clever move by Tosh got him the win. DanSkin #236 did take two heat wins on the night though, with Vegas #202 taking the other. The Grand National went the way of LeeK #39, but by all accounts Ironmac was robbed of the win. SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIP – KNOCKHILL- THURSDAY 12TH JUNE 7:30pm START TIME With the first championship still fresh in our memories from last week, it is time to move onto the second championship meeting of the season; the Scottish Championship. This rFactor F1 meeting has the receipt to be a classic, with a new venue to UK Dirt, and this also being the one and only visit we make to the Scottish track. This preview will tell you everything you need to know about this hotly anticipated meeting. CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY This championship has been around since 2001, but 2008 will be the first season that the championship will move from Cowdenbeath. Just like its real life counterpart, the winner of the Scottish title is the driver that wins the meeting final. It wasn’t until the last two years, that this title didn’t seem to favour the top guys in the sport. BB #38, who was then #622 (2001), Jok #79 (2002), Hack #258 (2003), Rebel #77 (2004) and Corny #391 (2005) have all taken the title. It wasn’t until 2006 that a lower grade driver won the title, and this was Cabs #226. Last year had no fewer than 11 yellow grade drivers in the race, and it was one of these yellow drivers that won the race; Grant #321. THE TRACK Knockhill is a unique track for the F1’s, in that it is the only track that we use that is a tri-oval. The hairpin is so tight that with the gravel trap on the outside, there is bound to be action there. But turns two and three can be just as tricky, as you bounce across the huge bumps. TTake into consideration the tyres places on the inside of all the corners, and this is one difficult test. There is no doubt that the winner of the final will deserve to be crowned the Scottish Champion 2008. STARTING PROCEDURE Due to the nature of the track, and of course it not being a tri oval, there will be a slightly different lining up position for each grade. Please see the diagram below. Go will be called anywhere from the whites being in the middle of the straight inbetween turns 2 and 3, and the exit of turn 3. 20MPH is still the limit on the rolling lap though. MEETING FORMAT Going on car numbers averaging around 20 this season, we will probably run a two thirds format with the heats, and then run an all in final, and all in Grand National. In the event that there are more than 24 cars, then I am afraid the grid will be capped at 24 for the final, with two grand nationals after. THE CONTENDERS Fresh from his UK Open Championship victory at Skegness this past week, Dazza #290 must surely start the meeting as favourite. With Hutch #331 banned for this meeting, Dazza not only has the opportunity to add another title to his collection, but also the opportunity to close the gap in the National Points. Much will depend on how he adapts to this unique venue, and whether he can make the transition from red to superstar successfully, as it will not be a closed grid formation this week. At superstar, alongside Dazza, should be Kruiz #136. Kruiz was gutted to miss the UK Open Championship meeting last week, and would desperately love to add to his Dutch Open title from last season. He has been near the front all season, and I would expect nothing less come tomorrow’s meeting. He has taken a final win this season, although this came on the shale of Belle Vue. Elsewhere, MoR #137 has to be another driver to watch. He has already taken two finals this season, and his desperate to add to the Grand National Championship that he won in 2006. The only problem is that his two final wins came on the shale. However, a recent down grading to red may well aid him in his quest for a second UK Dirt F1 title. Sticking with the red grade, and there is a driver that already has three final wins to his name this season; LeeK #39. LeeK has surprisingly never won a UK Dirt F1 title, and would dearly love to do so to add to his collection in other UK Dirt formulas. The only problem is that all of his finals wins came from the blue grade, and although these wins have come on both surfaces, he has struggled from the red grade. This is a guy not to be ruled out however. So what about some of the other drivers? Well last week Marten #291 came so close to taking the UK Open title, and could be a major treat again from his blue grade. Jimmy #259 was on the pace last week, and already has a tarmac final win to his name. Jimmy comes from the blue grade, as does Dutch driver Sybe #315, who is another driver that has a tarmac final to his name. Moving further down the grid, we have DanSkin #236, who was another driver that picked up from last week, and should he manage to escape from the pack of yellows, he may well be impossible to catch. Due to nobody really being 100% sure how drivers are going to get on around this unique track, it is possible that there is a driver out there that has not been mentioned that will pick up the title. This certainly is a hard race to call. FINALLY This meeting has all the ingredients to be one of the best meetings of the season. Not only is the Scottish Championship up for grabs, but so are those valuable world championship qualifying points. Add to the fact that this is another new track to UK Dirt, and it is not the standard oval that we would use, and it is one very exciting prospect! Cheers Johno P.S Sorry it is a little later than first advertised.

Thank you very much Kev for running the meeting and stewarding the races for us. Also, Thank you very much to Grasser for the kind sponsorship of the event. We will need an address off you Dazza (PM) and will arrange the details of it with you. And well done to Dazza for beconing the 2008 UK Open Champion. Personally, it was the Best meeting I have had on rfactor. After losing my temper in Heat 1, I calmed down and in heat 3 got a well earned third place. In the UK Open, got in toruble early on in all the carnage (please note I didnt cause it for once ) but then just managed to avoid the trouble and picked up sixth, all be it one lap down. Grad National was my best race of the night initially, as I was doing rather well untl got stuck a little in some carnage, and then tried to sneak up the inside of Matthew and round I went. I was going to pull off until I realised that I was the only one that could finish tenth so thought I better finish the lap lol. Anyway, it was great to see some new names in there. Mart #435, Lee #531, and also Spike returned. I would be interested to here how you guys found your first meetings, or return in Spikes case. Fianlly, next week sees the Scottish Championship. Expect a preview of some sort on here by the back end of the weekend. Cheers Johno

Its no good booking out of the UK Dirt website at half past 7. We take the list straight off there at 6, hence the bookings close at 6. In future you need to cancel on this thread. Cheers Johno

O thaks for letting us know - I wasnt sure so put the name from the site

Late booking / cancelations should be posted here guys. Spike I have acknoledged your provisional late booking. NOTE TO KEV AND MAGICMAN #531: Magicman #531, you will start the meeting at blue, based on your experience in other leagues. Also you have two messers strikes, so should you change your mind, then you will need to let someone know. Cheers Johno

Superb preview as always Kev. And fancy Al being a previous winner on this track I must say, I have been in the server a fair bit of time (still slow) but I really enjoy racing at Skegness and it should produce some classic racing. We really have had some good races using this track. Personally, Dan may be hard to catch if he can get away. Otherwise, I have a sneaky feeling that MoR will win. Anyway, get yourselves booked in for what is set to be an absolute classic. Who is going to win the first championship in the full rfactor season? Cheers Johno

Thanks very much for doing this Drumb, and I do hope we get to see you on track soon. 22 downlaods, hopefully, this will mean a few more for the UK Open on Thursday..... Novice skins are allowed, if you want to give the awesome Skegness track a try, and its the UK Open too!!

Hapopy Birthday - you kept that quiet when I seen you yesterday!! lol!!
