  1. Hello Guys, Tonight we will be running 2 heats and a final, and if time allows, possibly a grand national. All the races will be all in of course, and dont forget, if you wish to join in, you are free to use a novice skin. Anyway, meeting starts at 8:30, so 8:25pm in chat guys for more details. Cheers Johno
  2. Inbetween Hot Rod races Gary.
  3. Your white Harold - and I think this is a good time to try another rfactor meeting for you - were it isnt too crowded. Cheers Johno
  4. I would be curious to know if they strip down engines after these championships too. I read somewhere that they didnt for the Scottish, and I would have thought that for the semi finals they didnt either, as they sure got it done quick to enable them out for the meeting final if they did. As for the Dutch, Iam not sure, but again he was allowed to race again later in the meeting - so can they really do this that quickly? EDIT - Sorry only read half of the replies..... lol. I was only going on what my dad had told me regarding the engines. I assume he knows what he is talking about as he has been a ford mechanic all his life and used to work on Andy Morris' F2's as well. That was pre 1997 though, so he maybe wrong!! I regards to their being no measurements, I read something on ftooz that quoted the rule book. Basically its a standard part that a company use that the F2's have been told to use, and hence has no stirct measurements in the rule book. This guy then did some research into the parts, and I am sure it said something about 28mm and 36mm. So I am therefore assuming that it was something different to these kind of measurements. If I have the time tomorrow, and I will find the post in that long thread and put it on here. At the end of the day, no matter wheather he did it knowingly or not, he has been found to have an ilegal part on his car which is obviously deemed to give him an advantage. Whether it be 10horse power or 0.5 horse power, .3 tenths of a second or 3 hundreths of a second, it is still deemed to give him an advantage, it therefore against the rules, thus illegal, and thus the title was rightfully taken off of him. You have to remember though, a lot of this is actually speculation, and guess work. N one is ever going to agree when the full facts are not known. Cheers Johno
  5. I was speaking to my dad and 1mm bigger can make all the difference when it comes to the carb. He says it can give you as much as 10 horse power more. I said in chat that it is strange that he could go 3 tenths of a second faster than anyone at Taunton the last month. Thats a huge amount when you look at the size of the track, and take into account the time of the lap. Bradbury, Goldin, Farrell, no one could get even close. Are you telling me thats down to driver skill and set up, when people race there week in week out and are classed as superstars and cant touch him? u look at the rest and there is hardly a tenth of a second between them. You look at F1 and you can see that there is never a huge amount of difference between them. I think at the end of the day, the right decision has been made, and to be honest, cant see anyway that he can appeal it either. It a shame in one respect though, as he really is a nice guy to talk to, and even though he didnt know me, spent a good ten minutes chatting too me in the bar about racing at Cowdy / Knockhill in the F1 and the differences between the two. 6. Hello Guys, Here is the preview for the 2008 RFACTOR F1 CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD. This should hopefully tell you everything that you need to know about the World Final. I will try and confirm the grid nearer to the day, as there are a few bans floating around, plus I need to see who books in. In order to read this preview, you will need Microsoft Powerpoint 2007. It has to be 2007 version, or it will not work. If you do not have the 2007 version, then you can download the Microsoft Powerpoint viewer by clicking here. I would like to say a few thanks you's as always. Firstly Grasser for doing 90% of the graphical work, and Jarry for finishing it off with a cracking front cover. Thanks very much to Kev for the history, and also proof reading the whole document. Finally, thanks to everyone that took part by giving their thoughts on the event. All your thoughts are included, and 99% of the time, in your own words. Well that's it - all that is left for me to say is may the best man win on Thursday. Hope you enjpoy reading it. Cheers Johno RFACTOR_WORLD_FINAL_main_press.zip
  7. Preview will be delayed 24 hours. Iam not quite happy with my bits yet. Sorry Johno
  8. Hoping to have the preview out tomorrow night, if not it will be Monday. So if you would like to share your thoughts on the event with us, then please feel free to do so. Cheers Johno
  9. Hutch and Dazza, Apologies that I did not make this clear. As it was not announced on the official fixture list, it will not be included in the national points chase. It will be something that we discuss over the winter though in out admin team meetings, with a view to next season. Cheers Johno
  10. Johno - 3 booking in - help if I added that bit lol
  11. Hello guys, Next week is of course another double header which will see rfactor F1 and rfactor Hot Rods come together for two epic meetings. First of all, us F1's join the Hot Rods for their first championship meeting of the season. It's a huge night for the Hot Rods with it being their first meetign of their new season, moving over to the new mod, and of course the fact that it is the National championship for them. F1's are happy to join them in what could be described as a pre world final face off. Will any of the world finalists try and fire out one final message before the big night? The meeting will see F1's have two heats and a final. If time allows, there maybe a Grand National. If we have numbers in the twenties like we have recently, it could be an epic night of racing, espcially when you add the Hot Rods into the mix too. Thursday of course sees the biggest night in the Rfactor F1 calendar, with the 2008 CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD up for grabs. Hot Rods will be here to support us, and with the World Final being the first race of the night, it could be a great chance for you to try the Hot Rod in a meeting with no pressure on the outcome,. Anyway.....this is the booking thread for the Wednesday night meeting. World final bookings are to be done on the UK Dirt site. So to clarify... WEDNESDAY (HEDNESFORD) BOOK IN ON THIS THREAD. THURSDAY (IPSWICH - WORLD FINAL) BOOK IN ON THE WEBSITE

  16. Hello Guys, Just a couple of questions this year. (1) What do you think are your chances in the big race? (2) If you dont win the big race, who do you think will? Answers need to be with me by next Wednesday midnight (either by PM on the forum, email: johno_no_3@hotmail.co.uk, or over msn) Please take part - should take you about 2 minutes to do, but adds so much to the content of the World Final Preview. Cheers Johno
  17. Stick at it Davey - and practice with all those aids off!! One of the threads that disappeared with the hacker was the thread about setting up the wheel. Here is the picture that Hutch sent me on how to set up my wheel (perhaps people may add theirs so that others have different options?) Thanks to Hutch for the help with setting up my wheel. Cheers Johno

  20. Apologies for that Marky. Not sure what I was thinking at the time. Especially after I had put you on the world final graphic just a little bit before I could put it down to tiredness, but its more likely to be stupidness!! Cheers Johno
  21. Can you not see I am planning well in advance? EDIT: Poster is now correct - thanks for pointing that out MrBeef - important to be accurate as wouldnt want people turning up at Ipswich in the Monday . Apologies to Chevy - I forgot to save the poster in powerpoint so have had to do a sort of bodge job. Sorry about that.
  22. Hello Guys, I have finally finished the F1 section of the website, with the final thing being that the news page is up to date. In terms of RFactor the following is on the news page...... - Kings Lynn Semi Final Review - European Championship Review - Skegness Semi Final Review *pictures added* - World Final grid confirmed - just click news to see that graphic rather than just heat news *new* - Bradford Shale meeting information - sponsorship from Chevy #11 *new* Keep an eye on the UK Dirt news pages for more F1 information. Cheers Johno
  23. CLUTCH START CLASSIC INFORMATION This event is thanks to our very kind Sponsor STAURT CURRALL (CHEVY), who has kindly said that the winner of the meeting final will be given A REAL LIFE BriSCA F1 CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD TICKET, which will take place at Ipswich on Saturday 20th September. It is a general admission ticket worth £25. Chevy asked that the final be a clutch start race, but after discussions with the F1 Admin Team, it was decided to bring back a event that was top of most peoples fixture lists, both real life and online; THE CLUTCH START CLASSIC. It will be run slightly different to what was the norm though. It will be run as follows: Heat Races: Drivers line up 2-a-breast in their normal grade, but instead of it being a rolling start, it will be a clutch start. The Grand Final: Drivers line up 2-a-breast in their normal grade. The grades will then be asked to move directly behind the grade in front of them. Instead of a rolling start, it will be a clutch start. Grand National Races: Drivers line up 2-a-breast in their normal grade, but instead of it being a rolling start, it will be a clutch start. As stated above, the winner of the Clutch Start Classic Grand Final will receive a BriSCA F1 World Final ticket thanks to Chevy. The F1 Admin Team would like to extend their sincere thanks to Chevy for such kind sponsorship of the event, and look forward to what should be a very successful event. CONSOLATION SEMI FINAL INFORMATION The consolation semi final will be run over 20 laps, and will be the first race of the night. No points will be awarded for this race. The race will include the drivers that failed to qualify for the World Final via the Semi Final at either Kings Lynn or Skegness. These drivers will be in Group A. For this year only, drivers that did not take up their place on the Semi Final grid, will be allowed to take part in the Consolation Semi Final. These drivers will be in Group B. In order to make it fair to those drivers in Group A, they will start 1 grade distance ahead of those drivers in Group B. The reason for this is that those drivers in Group B would not normally be allowed to race as they did not take up their place on the grid. Therefore, the following drivers are eligible for the Consolation Semi Final: Group A Tosh #8 DanSkin #236 The Green Genie #298 Matty #300 Earache #492 Mav #525 Group B RyanD #128 Kruiz #136 Kev #149 Jarry #164 Tinman #248 Sybe #315 Matthewb #413 Big Al #515 Both Groups will be formed based on the National Points Chart, with the lowest points scorer on the front of their respective group. The TOP 4 drivers over the line will qualify for the 2008 Rfactor F1 Championship of the World which will take place at Ipswich on Thursday 18th September. SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? With the all important Consolation Semi Final, the resurrection of the Clutch Start Classic, and the opportunity to win a BriSCA F1 World Final Ticket, the question is why have you not booked yourself in yet? THANKS VERY MUCH TO CHEVY FOR HIS VERY KIND SPONSORSHIP OF THIS EVENT
  24. Thanks very much Mav for running the meeting. Sorry to hear about your internet problems. Thanks also to Kev for stewarding. Well done to Marten on winning the final. It was good to be able to watch a good fair battle between you and Sybe. I just couldnt quite get up with you both!! Personally, a good meeting for me. I thought the racing was very good, and the finish to the grand national was superb. Sybe was of course unlucky not to win, but it was an epic finish. Anyway thanks once again. Expect a very big announcement to come your way tomorrow, along with the consoaltion semi final details. I was hoping to do them tonight but there is a lot to do therefore it will have to wait until tomorrow. Cheers Johno
