  1. Hello Guys, In order to download this, you first of all need to delete Baarlo V1.0. To do that, you need to do the following: C:\Program Files\rFactor\GameData\Locations - Delete your folder from here. Anyway, click here to dowload the track. Thanks very much to MADCOWIE for the latest version of the track. Cheers Johno
  2. How about 507 for tar and 407 for shale? I will put you donw for these skins - seems like a superb idea looking at your name Cheers Johno

Ta for the information Hutch. Just doing the exe file for all those that cant get on rfactor central, but you may wish to download it from there. Thanks very much to MADCOWIE for the track - I have heard it produces some superb racing so I am looking forward to hearing about it tomorrow evening. Anyway, will be available in about 11.38 seconds. Cheers Johno
  4. I will update the list tomorrow, as I am on the way out. It has always been a first come first served basis. Its something that we have done since year dot. Everyone knew there was going to be a winter series, it was just a case of waiting for the mod to be released, and then sorting out dates that dont clash with anything. Take last year - the same system was used, and no one complained. What has changed in 12 months? There have been some good suggestions above, and they are either time consuming and ake a lot of work, or require everyone to be involved, or need everyone to confirm they are racing / not racing, which as someone has already said, some people dont read the forum everyday, or week anyway. Can I also remind you what I said earlier - if we did not do it this way - you miss a weeks racing, or depending which way you wanted to do it, 2 weeks racing. And I am sure the bottom line is that we all want to race. I am honestly starting to wonder if I should of just left it as the off season tbh, and then waited for the new season. I have never knew we were going to offend or disappoint so many people. Johno
  5. Ta sir
  6. Hello Wrighty, Can you pick another skin sir/ Matthew had choose it above you, but I was not here to update the list. Cheers Johno
  7. I will try and help out with a couple of queries that have come on here. I am afraid it is the way it has been done for years now, and to be honest, Kruiz has covered the reasons why, with the main one being the fact that I can't get you all online at a certain time to decide on skins (plus that would be a mighty scramble). In an ideal world, there are better ways, For example, Hutch's idea is a good one, but unfortunately it is very difficult to do, and very hard to track people down to see if they want to race. There are 3 aims for the winter series in my eyes.... (1) Keep people interested in rfactor, and at the end of the day, the winter is quite a long one and those winter nights are boring. (2) To have abit of fun. You may get the oppotunity to drive a skin that you would not normally do. Gives you chance to try some of the others out. (3) And perhaps the main one for me, is to try and encourage new drivers to give it ago before the season starts properly, in an atmosphere which is generally quite relaxed and friendly. At the end of the day, the winter series is aimed to achieve all those things, and be different to the main season, and one of the biggest ways that it is differet is to use the main skins. Other things to consider are that I wanted to the series to start at a decent time, and if we didn't start this week, then it was effectively a meeting lost, therefore one less round. People always want to change their skins again, plus new people dont have skins in the game, and you can be left with a lot of novice skins, so again the real life skins is just an easier way to do it. In regards Admin getting their cars they want... your probably right, especially in my case as I was the first one, but when your running a series, and run he mod all thoughout the year, shouldn't you be allowed a little perk? I mean we do pay server fees exactly the same as you guys so it is quite nice for us. That said, if anyone is particularly desperate to have the Harrison chassis, then I dont particularly mind thinking about it, and as Drumbstick has said above, he is happy to give up his chassis too.... so we can't be bad guys after all In regards using diferent versions of the cars, I cant see a problem with it, as long as they are different coloured roofs. I dont see as it makes a huge difference, as long as we dont end up with 20 Andy Smiths!!! Anyway, hope that helps a bit. Cheers Johno P.S List will be updated later tonight.
  8. Hello Guys, This is the thread to register your skins guys. You will need 1 shale skin, and 1 tarmac skin. You do not have to have the same driver if you do not want to. The only skin that will be reserved is the Rob Speak skins as DB is of course his mechanic. Every other skin is on a first come first served basis. I will update the list as the registrations start to come in. 9. UK DIRT RFACTOR F1 WINTER THUNDER SERIES Hello Guys, With the season starting a little later than Heat, the new Rfactor V1.2 being released thanks to UKSOM, coupled with the fact that Madcowie has created some superb tracks that we are yet to use in the league, I have decided that we require a winter series. The winter series will be run over 5 meetings, using the real life F1 skins in the new version of the mod (version 1.2). So in order to take part in the series, you will need to register for a skin. The dates for the series are as follows: Thursday 11th December 2008 Baarlo Short Thursday 18th December 2008 Sheffield Thursday 1st January 2009 NEC * For all those people that get bored like me and have just recovered by the evening. Wednesday 7th January 2009 Buxton Wednesday 14th January 2009 Cowdenbeath ***UK DIRT F1 AND HOT RODS SPECTACULAR*** Hot Rods British Championship Double Header F1 Winter Thunder Series Finale Wednesday 4th February 2009 Northampton Thursday 5th February 2009 Winter Thunder Series Finale Northampton All meetings will start at 8:30pm and will be run in accordance with the UK Dirt rules, which can be found on the UK Dirt site, by clicking League information > rules > league rules > Rfactor F1. Meeting Format: - W+Y’s race - Blues Red’s and S/S Race - Heat 1 - Heat 2 - Heat 3 (depending on numbers) - Final - GN (Closed grid, grades within grades) This will hopefully give everyone a bit of variety, and also give people the chance to sample the different type of races within UK Dirt. The format will change for the double header where we support the Hot Rods, but will include a series finale. Defending champion for both the points and title race is Drumbstick #41. Can he kick start his season once again, or will the World and National Points champion Hutch stamp his authority all over UK Dirt again before the season starts. Add to that the lines of Dazza, Kruiz, Matthew B and you have the receipt for a great pre-season warm up series. So what are you waiting for – get your real life skin registered, and wait for the winter series to commence. And if you have not already downloaded the new update, then this is the perfect reason to do so!! Cheers Johno
  10. Hello, After a very long Admin meeting, a decision has been made regarding the 2009 season. First of all, as with 2008, both F1 mods will run primarily on a Thursday night, with the odd outing on a Wednesday night. Taking each League individually in terms of League start times and meeting start times, the decision is as follows: Heat The season will start in January and finish on the first Thursday of October. The start time for Heat will be 9:30pm, with the aim of the meeting being completed in just over an hour, as was the norm in 2008. Rfactor The season will start in March and finish in November. The start time for Rfactor will be 8pm. * Where meetings are solus, the usual 8:30pm start time will apply. In terms of the Heat league, full information will be available next weekend. This will include new information about next year, skin pack announcements, and also the fact that I am going to re-do the shale numbers, due to the fact that they are a litte old and out of date now. But that will all be available next weekend. In terms of Rfactor, I am looking at the possibility of running approximately 5 meetings in the winter. One before Christmas, one in between Christmas and New Year, and then 3 in the new year before the season starts early March. Actual dates and time will be released at a later date, and will depend on the date of the upcoming update. There is also a possibilty that we will support the Hot Rods for their British Championship meeting, but again this will come at a later date. I do hope that you are looking forward to the new season just as much as we are. Further details for each league will be announced in the near future. Cheers F1 Admin Team
  11. Keep them coming guys... This is a superb UK Dirt tradition, and always finishes off the season very nicely I think. I would expect to at least ve reaching 20, but would llike to get over 20. Cheers Johno
  12. Just a quick reminder - this thread will be closed on Wednesday. Our admin meeting is on Thursday, and we hope to discuss any issues raised then.
  13. Some good points starting to come out now
  14. This is not what this thread is about. Points have been made, and they will be taken into account, but unfortunately at UK Dirt it is not as simple as saying scrap heat. There are plenty of people that want to race Heat still, and these people need to be catered for as well. Start times are under discussion as we speak, with 3 possibilities open to us. I have tried my best to answer any questions thrown my way, but we have to cater for everyone and not just the Rfactor crowd. The suggestion thread clearly states that we should not be arguing with other peoples point of view, and if anything offer constructive feedback. Like I said earlier on, any problems regarding start time, please feel free to PM me and I will answer any queries, but please leave this to sensible suggestions on how to imrpove the racing, and thus the league. This thread will be locked over night to make sure that it does not turn into a slangging match thread. Cheers Johno
  15. I think you saying tighten up on disciplinary, but could you expand on that to help us out a little bit when it comes to discussing it at the Admin meeting. Cheers Johno
  16. In order to run it on another night, we would effectively need a 8 day week, asthe same arguement applies to last year, and thats why should another mod risk losing drivers in order to accomodate an F1 league? In regards splitting the leagues and having them effectively go 'agaisnt each other', the stats show that there is a core group of drivers that race in both leagues. This can be as high as double figures, and thus weakening both leagues. The split times will not be a problem next season, as they will be set in stone, and not swapped around each and every week. Believe me, we are trying to cover every angle in order to make this work for everyone. We are still a pretty big community, and therefore we have to try and accomodate everyone. EDIT: Can we please keep this to running Rfactor next year, and thus how to improve the Rfactor league rather than who should be having what time and what day. I am promise you, we are discussing all ideas, and nexts years season, for both leagues should be better then last year, if we can get all our new initiatives into place. This means though that we still want some of your ideas and your thoughts. So please tell us.... What worked for you last year? What didnt work for you last year? Is there something that has potential and needs to be twisted a bit? Do you yourselves have any new ideas? Cheers Johno
  17. Initially at the start of last season, this was the case, but there is doubt that there are planty of people that still want to race Heat. However, we do learn, and we have learnt lessons from last season, and we will be using static times or both leagues. Right now those times are being discussed, between the admin team, with an announcement looking to be reached by the end of the month, pretty much after we have our admin meeting on the 27th of November. I want to stray away fromt his debate though on this thread please because this is about moving the Rfactor league forward, and not what we should do with Heat. However, I know this is a subject that you are all keen on, so if there is anything that you want to know, then please feel free to PM me and I will of course answer your questions. Cheers Johno
  18. Just reminding people about this thread. Feel free to post any ideas, just like AllStar has done, and we will discuss it at our AGM.
  19. Hello All, First of all, thank to Hot Rods for having us, and to the drivers that turned up to race. Not quite the amount on the booking list, but it was still good fun and an enjoyable evening. Next year, it is likely that this kin of meeting will be for points, but thats for another thread on anotherday Onto the meeting, and the final was a classic I thought. With 5 to go, any one of 4 drivers could win, but the experiene of red grade driver Ironmac came through, and he took his first final win of the season!! It was a superb race, and I apolgise to lee for sticking him into a parked car on the last bend - however, it ewas well worth it for 2nd!! hehe!! Anyway, the results are as follows: Results: Heat 1: 288 500 531 188 3 488 8 11 112 380 Heat 2: 8 288 531 112 380 3 500 496 136 221 A-Final: 288 3 531 112 39 488 496 500 8 492 GN 1: 112 288 3 488 492 496 Anyway, dont forget the suggestion thread to get your ideas in for the upcoming season, and if I dont see you before, I hope to seeyou all, and then some more, for the 2009 season. Cheers Johno
  20. List u[pdated guys, and pleased to see we have healthy numbers. Fell free to add to the list if you wish, as with it being an out of season meeting, we will run all in, and not have a specific final grid, just race winners to the back, and a bit of common sense.
  21. I know this is perhaps cutting it a bit fine, but could we have all suggestions in by the 26th of Noember. We are having an admin meeting on the 27th, and therefore would like to discuss your thoughts and opinions.
  22. My apologies - so I did. Have corrected it now
  23. List updated guys - I will definately run a meeting. Keep them coming though
  24. I will definately run it if we get 14/15. I will be racing Hot Rods anyway that evening, so therefore if there is enough for a F1 meeting, I am happy to run it, and race in it. Cheers Johno
  25. Just merged the 2 thank you topics :thumbs_up;
