Thursday October 30th 2008, sees the conclusion to the Grand National Championship, to be held at Sheffield, a new shale track to rFactor but still with those annoying post & wire fences!!! Although only 7 drivers from the grid are currently booked in on the UK Dirt Website, a new track should make things very even and setup time is going to be paramount! Grand National Championship 2008 Laps 21 (TBC) / Race Manager - Maverick / Start Time 9:00pm Polesitter - JOHNO #3 - Points 202.5 Johno's four Grand National wins this season has seen him charge up to the No.1 slot, so no stranger to leading races. Been very solid from his yellow grade, and has compounded some good results since moving upto blue. Could easily get the jump at the start and never be caught, but backmarkers could be his downfall. I expect a strong showing from Johno, as this has been his only real chance of Silverware from a one off race. Outside Row 1 - MARTEN #291 - Points 172.5 Scored points from three grades this season, showing how consistant he is and how able he is to race from red. Unfortunate not to be on the grid for the World Final, so like Johno has a real good chance of winning this trophy. Likely to stay in touch with Johno in the early laps, but may fade if Johno is consistant. Marten may take a gamble and use the bumper early on, but with 22 other cars following it may cause a huge car park and throw the race wide open!!!! Inside Row 2 - MATTY #300 - Points 164.5 Not shy in using the bumper, which often causes him problems, so he may be best advised to hold off on the opening laps, then go for it. I don't think Matty will have the speed or the luck to stay in touch for a top three finish, especially if warp gets the better of him, but can easily have a say in who does come 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Outside Row 2 - DAZZA #290 - Points 160 Scored all his points from red/SS, so certainly knows how to drive. How prepared he is for a new track, I am not sure, but I expect him to still be competitive even if his setup isn't truly honed in. He loves shale and his recent performances show that he definately has the talent to win this, but with his nemesis starting one row behind, he may find himself in the wires before crossing the line!!!! Inside Row 3 - HUTCH #331 - Points 157 Can win this race with his eyes shut!! He will be the best prepared on this new track, as he won't want to risk embarressment Odds on for the win, but I thought that for the British and look what happened. Will certainly take some stopping if he has a clear run, but if Dazza isn't kissing the wires early on, expect a battle to the flag. Outside Row 3 - MARKY #18 - Points 149 White, Yellow but mostly blue is where Marky has scored points from. A regular blue grade who will find the early laps hard going, but if survives the first few laps could hold his position till the end of the race. Track inexperience may be a problem. Inside Row 4 - VEGAS #202 - Points 148.5 Blue grade now but a regular yellow roof this season, very consistant and great to race against. Will he put the bumper in first bend??? Doubt it lol Vegas will try and race, but with higher grade drivers on the following rows, may find it difficult too. Top ten finish would be his goal, and a decent drive he could obtain it. Outside Row 4 - JIMMY #259 - Points 143.5 Tarmac is his preferred surface, but if he gets plenty of track time could spring a surprise and make a challenge. He'll have to keep an eye out behind him, but generally isn't afraid of mixing it, so even if he loses places, he will be confident of regaining them. Top three an outside chance, more likely top seven. Inside Row 5 - IRONMAC #288 - Points 138 Mistakes deriving from overdriving often causes Iron problems, yet despite them is having a good first season. Will expect him to do well, but if a tit for tat battle ensues then Iron may well find himself falling back. Decent race however will net him a top ten finish. Outside Row 5 - KRUIZ #136 - Points 127 Definate Superstar material, can be at home on either surface. Definately put money on him being top five, if not higher!! Kruiz will have the setup and will go for it from the word GO. If he makes up ground in the early laps could well be in for a shout at the flag, but he may want to forget the big bumper especially as he starts next to Iron!!!! Inside Row 6 - LEEK #39 - Points 120 Lee is no stranger to Championships, and will approach this one no different. Will want to get a good start, but being in the middle of drivers who are not afraid of using the bumper, this might be a problem. Lee may struggle, but is capable if he gets a clear run. Top ten possible, but may end up on the wrong side and drop down the order. Outside Row 6 - TOMD #112 - Points 116.5 Has the most bent front bumper in the mod, but often its use is to Tom's benefit. Not shy at getting stuck in, but I fear in this race it will end in disaster. Not fully consistant, may find it hard to keep in touch with the front runners, but will give 110% trying. If drivers fall by the wayside, then a top ten finish is possible. Inside Row 7 - SYBE #315 - Points 115 Over eagerness has caught Sybe out on occassions, but with a steady drive could well get into the top 5. Is competent on both surfaces, so Sheffield should hold no problems for Sybe. Not afraid to use the bumper, but overusage could see him relegated out of the top ten. What kind of drive will he choose?? Outside Row 7 - MR.BEEF #286 - Points 103 Raced most of the season from red. Beef has been with it all season, but recent bad results have seen a drop to blue. He has made the grade pay for him in Grand Nationals, and row 7 is a great achievement. Lack of knowledge at Sheffield and his race pace will go against him, but if he gets some breaks could find himself with a shot at 10th. More likely though to be outside the top 10 which is a shame. Inside Row 8 - WALKER #74 - Points 96.5 Another yellow top who drives well, but come meeting time just doesn't get the breaks with his internet!!! Has done really well since joining UK Dirt ranks, using his experience from Sim-Stox has helped him be there or there abouts come the flag. Maybe a driver who already has a setup for Sheffield, therefore has an advantage, but it will take more than that to move up the grid to a top ten slot even if his internet holds out!! Outside Row 8 - MATTHEWB #413 - Points 93 Not raced often, but can win finals nevertheless. May well resort to the bumper to progress but could find it hard going. May well spring a surprise and turn up !!! Should he turn up then the charge will be on! Inside Row 9 - DB #318 - Points 91 Missing of late, so not sure if he will show. Has been red all season, goes well until hit; then he snaps and starts driving a bulldozer, blitzing all in his path. If this happens early on then drivers beware!!! Could easily drive a great race and get to top 7, but more likely will be enrolled in the mid pack scramble. Outside Row 9 - ALLSTAR #500 - Points 88 Still getting to grips with rFactor, but doing ok. Has plenty more to give and could well be a star of the future. Being row 9, Allstar would be happy just to grid, and be happier to finish well, so there will be no expectations nor heroics just pure enjoyment to be out there. Inside Row 10 - DANSKIN #236 - Points 86.5 Danskin - The one lap wonder!!!! Can't see him progressing much beyond the first lap, as his engine will overheat or tyre burst or not enough fuel If Dan has had time to get a setup, he may well be able to get through the havoc of the mid pack to a top ten place. If not he will enjoy watching from the infield waiting to change the lap files for the next race!!!! Outside Row 10 - MOR #137 - Points 84 Would surely been higher up the grid, if MOR raced more often. Nevertheless if he is tempted out for a crack at this championship, he may well be challenging for a top 3 finish, even from the back as he has the ability to get his head down and drive like his hero, FWJ. Inside Row 11 - GREENGENIE #298 - Points 66 Also missing of late, so not sure if he will show. Not seen much of GG this season, and will be surprised if he shows, as internet problems have caused GG grief. Sheffield could prove to be a bad track for GG, unless he has been able to practice, but even then I doubt he will get a rhythm to get a finish. Outside Row 11 - MAVERICK #525 - Points 64 Prefers tarmac to the slippery stuff, where most if not all his GN points have come from, and from white grade too. Still trying to improve and will practice shale in the close season, but for this race will give his best shot at finishing. Hopefully will not influence the race by being a backmarker in the wrong place. Inside Row 12 - TOSH #8 - Points 63.5 Fully expect Tosh to move up the grid and quickly. Hopefully on his travels no-one upsets him as he really enjoys to "race" and gets good vibes when it happens. Often though an opponents error catches Tosh out and he losses his rhythm and composure. Surely should finish in top ten. Outside Row 12 - GRASSER #233 - Points 55 Prefers shale, but yet to find consistancy that would maintain him a true red grade. Won't set the race on fire, but will progress as other fall by the wayside. Top ten would be a good result for Grasser, who doesn't force his race, letting it unfold before him. Reserves in order :- 531 Lee, 41 Drumstick, 11 Chevy, 123 Dubstar, 188 Aub, 380 Daveyboy, 488 Fat Dave, 221 Spike, 515 Big Al, 248 Tinman So there you have it, a grid with the potential of many talents, but whose will shine through???. I hope to see all the drivers book in for this race, and forfill this grid as much as possible, but obviously drivers will move up a grid slot if any drivers are absent, and reserves will fill out the back rows. GET YOURSELF BOOKED IN BY 6PM on THURSDAY 30th OCTOBER 2008, NO LATE BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE GN GRID, drivers who require a late booking will be seeded into a different heat. I will post up the grid in the MI as it will be run as a heat. COME ON WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR - GET BOOKED IN NOW!!!!
-
Well Done Chevy on your Final win Didn't have a good night, mainly because I just did not get the track time prior to the meeting, hence why I was still racing round whilst everyone was arguing about Lee531!!! In rFactor, I try to be stubborn and keep people behind me as its more difficult than heat to do a massive hit and having now watched my replays, I did that to Allstar and Marky, who had to work at it to get by me and I enjoyed that challenge. It is a shame Kruiz that you hit Marky at that point as I was just starting to hope for a points finish (was 4th at the time) and in an instant it was gone. Coming out of the spin in 14th, I knew my race was run.
-
Well, was it sexy or was it beriumy ?? lol From my point of view, alot better than I expected, but the races are just a few laps too long for me to get decent results, but nevertheless I scored my best ever on shale, so gotta be pleased with that! Congratulations to Johno (3), who took the meeting final, but had to settle for runner up in the meeting points. That honour went to Kruiz (136) all the way from the back of the grid, claiming an impressive 2 heat wins, 2nd in final and 3rd in GN. A few distraught mumblings after the final, please if you have any queries or concerns, get in touch with the Admin guys so that we can review the problems and see if there is a resolution. I appreciate that it has happened and results won't change, but we have to build for the future and take preventative measures wherever possible. Thanks guys. Was it really the same Aub that won the British Championship, that only hours before wanted to know if I was racing as I was the only one he could keep up with at present!!!!! If that was true I wished I had of raced, it could have been my championship!!!! Well Done m8 And from what I hear, its great to see Hutch accepting the "Payback" and moving on - credit to you m8

Matthew, If this was confined to UK Dirt (ie Forum & Databases), then putting in perspective - no it doesn't really matter. All it is doing is stopping alot of people enjoying what they do on each day of the week. Admin would come and go, but UK Dirt would continue, having issued what it needed to, to prevent the situation occurring again. Unfortunately, the individual / individuals, who I am sure are known due to Johno's actions, have infiltrated areas outside of UK Dirt, ie Hotmail accounts, which DOES REALLY MATTER, as these are personal to the individual concerned. No matter what happens within UK Dirt, this "Hacking" of hotmail & other accounts has to be stopped or where will it end. So if criminal proceedings are the way forward to stop this then so be it. Even if the individual / individuals are under age, then parents will be accountable. This goes for the person whom allegidally hacked the "Plonk" forum. It is a criminal offence. It is a great shame that it has come to this, as it has harmed various areas. But it is certainly making Drivers/Admin stop and think whether they want to leave themselves open to this, hence why resignations are occurring, not because they are guilty of wrongdoing. ADMIN - STAY UNITED, CONTINUE FOR THE MAJORITY AND LET THE POLICE/SOLICITORS SORT THE MINORITY.

QUOTE :- "i will still be here im not gonna let a few tits spoil my fun!" ANSWER :- "The only way it would spoil your fun is if they are attached to a female (of the human kind!!)!!!!" If you still don't get it........................... A women would entice you away from your fun, if it's fun she wanted!!!!!

i will still be here im not gonna let a few tits spoil my fun! Jon Muz - People just do not realise what "committment" it takes to run one meeting, let alone the whole UK Dirt community. I, in my time, have committed alot of time (as have many others no longer involved) to aid the running of UK Dirt, but gave it up because it didn't warrent the time I was putting in, for the crap given back. I recently gave up the F2 website because it is no longer worth my time keeping it updated, due to the "uncaringness" of the UK Dirt community. In my eyes, there are too many people who just want to "destroy" or "abuse" what UK Dirt is about, and not "Enjoy" it the way it has evolved. If we all turned up, had a laugh in chat, raced with respect but to each own personality, congratulated or "Booooooo'd" the winner and accept that racing incidents occur, then I am sure it would be the greatest enjoyment for Admin to run and will willingly dedicate their time too keeping UK Dirt alive. But alas it isn't, and I can only see the trust disappearing from all quarters of UK Dirt, and no-one will want to look after the community. I don't know what the short term or long term answer is, but if more Admin members leave, who by the way have all been loyal, trustworthy & objective, then UK Dirt will deteriate and will die. You may say that there are plenty of people who will fill their shoes if they left, but I will think you will find that the "Mature" UK Dirters will not want the hassle, nor want to be thrown in without any experienced Admin members to guide them. This sadly leaves the "Immature" bunch who would not inspire me one bit to take part in anything that they organised, and I for one wouldn't trust them with the finances and hence would not sign up to re-join. It is sole destroying to think that certain individuals would go so far to rectify what they believed to be a wrong. If it was real life would the "Hackers" hack into police computers to try and blackmail them over a guilty verdict if they thought it unfair??? If you didn't like the treatment you were getting, why didn't you put a case forward "with evidence" and if that then failed either publicly announce what was going on and let the members decide if Admin were in error. If the members agreed with you, Admin heads would have rolled, but if the members agreed with Admin, then you had two choices, leave or put it behind you and continue. I have had many run in's with Admin, even when I was an Admin member, but looking back I can see how objective and fair they were, even when I was adament that I was right. I am still here (booooooo they say) and a 2nd tier admin member too. None of this is relevant now, as it has come this far, it is damaging to us all, and the way to recover is for the current members to "rally" round the current Admin members to continue with the good work that they do, and hope that those that have left/leaving are inspired enough to take back their positions and make this the best leagues in the country. A little appreciation goes a long way - well it does for me Aub - The only way it would spoil your fun is if they are attached to a female (of the human kind!!)!!!!
-
Agree with the above, you have been immense within UK Dirt MC (and I don't mean your height either!! ) I hope that in the remaining months the "True" UK Dirters can rally round and oust these "Hackers" and normality can resume with you at the helm. If not, all the best m8, and thanks for everything (and thats alot) you have done for UK Dirt.
-
Could Johno not decide who he wanted to suggest as a winner so he nicked Marten's reply Good stuff all round though - Lets hope the racing is as good as the build up!!
-
I believe it to be tarmac. (Ipswich is tarmac in real life, but with a shale inner surface)
-
Who qualified from the Consi Semi, as the result isn't shown above ???
-
Disappointed. Thats all I can say about tonight's meeting. Maybe has something to do with the fact my internet keeps going down, being wiped out in every race, seeing unsavoury incidents of drivers who should know better and just being downrite grumpy tonight. Well Done to Marten #291 for taking the meeting Final and being top scorer of the night. Tonight ends the Grading Period, so look out for any movements soon. Next week is the Consi Semi at Bradford Shale, Start time 9pm. Details will be posted soon. Evening Guys, Tonight we are on the hard stuff at Birmingham Wheels, and with an all in format, we should be in for thrills and spills tonight - especially as I am starting from yellow tonight!!!! I would tip Walker to win both heats and GN, whilst the Yellows & Blues fight amongst themselves, slowing the Reds and Superstars enough to make racewins hard to come by. The Final however with those extra laps, could tell, but if Walker can be consistant and avoid the backmarkers from hell but hearts of gold (mainly me and Chevy!) then he may hang on - We shall see. FORMAT :- 14 cars all in FINAL GRID Whites 11 74 Yellows 525 300 3 202 Blues 315 291 112 259 Reds 233 8 Superstars 290... B I G G A P .... 331 All the best, see you all in chat at 7:30pm

Hi Al, Be Jubilant again m8, as I am sure the GN result will stand with full points, when everything is updated. You deserve the "Point(s)" as you got better as the meetings went on, and hope you did enjoy the double meeting.
-
Sorry forgot to add - Euro Replay Nice pictures MOR - one to treasure for me European_2008_NIR.zip
-
With starting at the front - which I am enjoying ;-) - I don't tend to see the "naff" driving thats been mentioned. I just try and get away, hoping not to be caught. This happened last night and to actually get round the first corner of the Euro, without losing it, was amazing, and to actually be in 2nd place for quite a while was just exceptional. Everytime I watch the replay I kick myself for making one small error, which lost me the 6th place I had with four laps to go, but having said that I am extremely pleased with finishing the race in 11th, especially as it was a closed grid and 25 laps long. As for the remaining meeting, I would have loved to have won my heat, but again 3 laps to go I was caught and rather than balls it up with a daft move I settled for the third place. Final was yet another high - to drop to 8th and then fight back to 4th and keep it was exhilerating - I was shaking on the last lap hoping that Grasser didn't get through!!! Talking of Grasser, I apologise for the contact in the GN, I wanted to try and see if I could use the bumper (as I couldn't afford to score anymore points!!), but hit the side of your car rather than the back bumper. Fortunately it didn't loose us anything in the end, but I will just have to practice more as when I get upgraded I may need to rely on correct hits to get anywhere! Well Done to Walker won won a race but as it was his birthday I will forgive him !!! We had some good laps up there at the front, all fair and challenging. Also WD to Jimmy, fast over the two days, but mighty heavy with the bumper at times!!! Congrats on your two final wins, but I am glad you are now blue as I can have abit more of a breathing space!!!! Well Done to Hutch for Euro win and to all those spirited drives from drivers from the back. Will I venture onto the shale next week - We shall see!!
-
Long may it draw you in - need any advantage I can get!!!! My problem is that the centre green draws me in - especially backwards

I had no problems on install & I think it's a great track - Brilliant MOR I took the car for a drive right round the outside of the track and its exceptional. As for driving on the track I used my Skegness setup and lengthened the gears, I also looked at the other elements like damper, bump, stagger and thought "What the hell do they mean???" so I left them alone and took to the track - now doing 14.0's at best - Any Good???? (although I find offline considerably different to online!) I am sure the reds will be doing 13.4's come thursday. Oh and at one point I managed to do a Stuart Smith Jnr, by hitting the armco/tyres on the inside and flying through the air. I wasn't concussed either but I felt pretty stupid doing it!!!
