  1. Ben has politely asked me not to race tonight to give him the best chance of a win! Good Luck to all, may a deserving driver take the title
  2. As you say mistakes happen - I can see where your priorities lie tho lol
  3. My evening seemed to run along last years lines, so at least I am consistent! Three rubbish races, two decent races, towards the back of the grid, drop to the back, stayed out of trouble, worked my way up to top ten, then get dumped out of the race, finished 14th - Disappointed! It would be nice to get some good fortune to actually finish in the top ten when I manage to get there, but that's racing! Not watched any of the replays as yet, so cannot comment on things as I usually do, but two things stood out. 1) My fourth heat - The start was diabolical! Blues predicted the start so sped up right to my bumper, the whites virtually stopped as the "Go" didn't come, so when we were fully bunched and on the home straight the "Go" was given. Should have been restarted This annoyed me badly and I ended up taking it out on Walker #363 during the race which I am truly sorry for. 2) After being wronged by Wardieee last week (No apology received btw!), I did for a brief second think of righting that wrong in the British. Obviously I didn't, so Congratulations Wardieee, first of many this season I feel. PS : Harold #599, work with the rest of the yellows, be patient in your driving then results will come your way! You push too hard and end up going into the bends deeper and deeper losing time and allowing the others to catch up. Your a good driver, but just have to be more relaxed around other cars. Shame you didn't make the British tho.
  4. GOOD LUCK BEN - Not racing tonight, lost enthusiasm after Thursday night, can't stand the track, and just think I would cause more harm than good!!!!!!!!!
  5. There is a big difference in going from blue and going from yellow especially if your pace does not increase. If this is the case, then your approach has to change to how you can survive the early laps then put in some consistent laps and hope that slower cars don't hinder your progress. That's how I wanted my night to go! Looking back at the racing last night, It was enjoyable because to me when you are at a flat out track, the sense of speed and precision is amazing, fighting wheel to wheel with others around you. However, when those around you either messed up or take you out, you know your race is ended as its just too much to catch that time back up again, and that's frustrating. My first heat, I was hindered by an error in front, lost time and positions but then had a great duel with Ryan for 8th place. Second heat, I survived the early mayhem and was sat in 4th following Hoggy who wasn't getting away, when one look at the lap charts and a bloody big tyre jumped out at me! Down to 9th I went. Final was a great race, hanging in there when it was all going on around me, but sadly I had my back wheel snagged and round I went. Fought hard to get back into the top ten, but threw it away on the last lap by clipping a tyre AGAIN! Grand National was a tense race, made a break and was away. I held 4th for a long time, watching in my mirrors as Wardy and LeeK had a battle behind me which kept them occupied. Pleased to have survived and cross the line in 4th. So 12 points was had, whereas I predicted 20 before the meeting, so all in all disappointing on that front, but a good nights racing overall I thought.
  6. I now know why I steer clear of tarmac racing - I just don't enjoy it! Its a lot of hard work just for things to go easily wrong, and as for making the tyres last, well........ First three heats I was taken out, spun into the fence, and four heat I went one better - I was rolled into the fence!! Fifth heat managed to keep it facing forward for the whole race, but was planted a couple of times on route. So 6 points and B Final, was my reward for three consecutive nights practicing over 1000 laps (Yes that's how crap I am on tarmac!!) Was promoted to the A Final, due to a dropout so it was all or nothing race. I thought I was in a bad starting position for a closed grid, but when the go was called some luck came my way (although others won't see it that way as it should have been restarted - but for me thankfully it wasn't) Nevertheless I still had to complete another 21 laps and to finish 7th was excellent for me as I was struggling to maintain consistent laps. Well Done HGR, I didn't want to ruin it for us both, so I stayed behind. Well Done Simmo, back to back final wins Maybe some other whites could take a leaf out of HGR's new book!
  7. Same as me on Monday. I had to uninstall the updates and re-install the original installation for Logitech. Wheel doesn't work with the Windows 10 update for Logitech Gaming. I have the file but it is too large to upload here - I will try facebook.
  8. Many thanks to Grasser for assisting me in getting my wheel working again due to a Windows 10 update for Logitech Gaming System not being compatible. Managed to get out on track for Heat 2 and with no practice found the going tough and scraped a top ten place - Un Point as the French would say. Consi race I was more fluent and took the lead early on only for an errant novice to be in the wrong place for me and I spun. Still came home 3rd (Not a problem in a 5 car race! lol) Sat on turn 2 waiting for the final to be gridded thinking I would be pole blue, completely forgetting it was a Championship meeting and consequently found myself on the back row due to 3rd in Consi. Having made a mistake early on I worked my way from 23rd to 9th and challenging Ben and Hoggy, only to come off the bend to find DanW facing the wrong way against the fence. I had no chance to avoid him, and bang went my wheel - end of race. Real shame as I am sure I would have held on to a top ten finish. Grid seemed closer in the GN and the reds were on us on the first lap. I fell victim of mistake in identity and was out of the race on lap 2, no way back from there. So would it have been better not to race - nah! Enjoyed what I did, shame it didn't yield any results but that's how it goes sometimes. Well Done Jake on taking the Championship and Barker had an easy run from yellow to take highest point scorer
  9. Very Sorry Guys, but I can't come out to play My PC has updated a "Logitech Gaming Software" update to version 8.something. Now my wheel settings have disappeared and it won't let re-calibrate it. I have tried uninstalling the update but the profiler is still blocked to changes. Not sure what to do, and certainly wont be able to resolve it in 20 mins before start time sorry
  10. Superb pictures Wardieee - Captures the last bend of the final very well. Note to self : "Stick with what you have, don't go for what you can't have!" Thank you
  11. Your welcome for the hit to put you facing the right way after your car moved down the track to wipe me out of 5th down to 9th. Thanks to Dan and Stumpy for the meeting, was decent for Sheffield, even better if the final hadnt gone wrong last corner. I gathered someone may have come a cropper as I turned my car, thought it would have been Ben though!! Really Sorry LeeK, never wish to take people out of places
  12. Although only being able to practice from 6pm when our internet connection was re-established, I held no ambitions as to how the meeting would go. I was just glad to be back racing and it was shale at least W&Y : Had a lucky break and was able to consolidate 2nd place - Good start to the evening. HEAT 1 : Had another lucky break and led from lap 2, with Stinjeman behind. He didn't catch me and was comfortable leading. 2 lap board was shown, then it all went wrong - Ricky was across the track and didn't move. I tried to go underneath but clipped his bumper which as luck would have it bounced me into a tyre! By the time I got going again I was last all bar Ricky - So thanks for that Ricky! HEAT 2 : No luck in this one as my back end was taken very early on causing cars to scatter everywhere - apologies to those I affected. So still NUL points. HEAT 3 : A good race only losing out places in the last few laps but with ThomasK spinning on last lap I took a happy 4th and hoped it got me into the final. A FINAL : Great race - Luck was on my side at the start and I led the way. Something happened behind as there was only Simpson behind me. I hate leading races, would rather follow someone so I succumbed with 3 to go and Simpson was through. I stayed with him and decided I would have a go as I have never won an A Final before so lined my car up on the last bend. Once I realised I had put all four wheels on the infield I decided to back out of the hit. I braked hard and thankfully missed Simmo (I am sure I would have been docked for corner cutting and Simmo would have been annoyed if I ended his race like that had I connected) but ended up spinning myself! I awaited the other cars to hit me and drop me down the places but non did (other than those pushing me the right way), only two cars passed me before I got going again and finished 4th - super happy with that! GN : Again got a break and led until about 3 to go when Wardieee passed me, but this time settled for 2nd - Again well happy with my drive. So had I won heat 1 and settled for 2nd in the final I could have been top scorer on the night, but no matter I enjoyed the racing despite leading three races and winning none! yet I was happy with my performance See you in two weeks at Kings Lynn (Unless I can get the tarcar to go round Nutts Corner ) Well Done Simmo for the final win and Wardieee for top scoring
  13. No Virgin Media - Major cable renewal going on in the area.
  14. Our internet has just returned this evening after being out since May 4th!!!
  15. My Heats went well and was amazed to see 4th in Heat 1 and then to obtain 6th in heat 2 was brill. Sadly it went downhill from there Final I hit the stranded 411 Car and the subsequent collision with the fence flatten my right front tyre. Not knowing this at the time I tried to continue but ended up hitting the tyre in the melee and flattened my left front tyre! Out of the race and disappointed. Grand National I was doing ok and holding my own got to 6th but I was taken out of the race, not sure if it was deliberate I wait to see. WD Twisty you scored well, nice to see Didn't race Ben in the Heats or GN, and was out of the final early, so he topped scored - Coincidence!! lol I was please to keep up with Hoggy in practice, which gave me confidence but he was only sandbagging until the meeting! WD Hoggy - Looking good for World Final Hoping to keep red next month and have another shot at improving as blue is the bruiser grade
  16. An interesting and informative reply Lloydy. - Thank you. To clarify, In no way am I insinuating that anyone on Admin was or is bias towards any other driver. I am pleased to read that you have taken the time to PM Dan (Assuming you are not calling him a cry baby in private! ) Your incident with Tsjalle I am sure would be considered "Stock Car Racing" as it was on the last lap and was just unfortunate it didn't end well, but its the effect of drivers doing this on "any" lap that I think may well be the issue. Hopefully your conversation with Dan will clear the matter up and we can look forward to taking to the tracks once more.
  17. STUMPY My post is not cryptic at all, in fact the person I was referring too answered my post and he knows it is in jest! As for me complaining about the drivers concerned its not really a viable option as in reality all they are guilty of to me is "Unsportsmanlike Behavior" and that might be pushing it. They are just being forceful in their driving, bordering on SSC/Banger racing, but they are not breaking any rules that I am aware of. I admit I don't like it and therefore sympathize with others who are on the end of it, as I said in my post, and because I don't like it I am choosing when I wish to race. If I read that it is improving then I race more often - Simples. (If Ben will allow me too ) So Stumpy, when things go wrong for you and you are criticized then who posts a "crying" thread? For example : "http://www.ukdirtforum.com/index.php?showtopic=41516" And I remember you voicing your strong annoyance about drivers in F2's some years back - Did you complain or did you just stop racing? Stopped racing because of it I believe. We are all entitled to voice our opinion, some voice it, some don't but how we react to it is what counts, and your reaction doesn't help. Admin could look at Dan's situation, get the facts and then advise accordingly, not call him a moaner and a crier or a spoilt brat - Had we said this to you in the attached thread you would have been lost to UK Dirt forever. Now either Admin will do nothing, or they could talk to Dan, get the facts and see if he has a case. If he does, act on it, if he doesn't then advise Dan why and Dan can then decide if he wishes to continue racing or not. If people are not happy and post as such, should it be ignored or made fun of just because it is not a complaint? LLOYDY I have seen posts from you complaining how "Stupid" drivers are. Do you "Complain" to Admin?? You said your bit on the forum, of which no-one slated you for saying it and you moved on to your next meeting. When drivers have a good meeting all seems well, but have a bad meeting and drivers are looking for answers as to why. Having no complaints doesn't mean that all is well - How many drivers just don't race rather than complain? Is this why numbers are down and we now have all in finals (mainly F2's)? It could be a reason, and left unresolved means fewer and fewer drivers will race as time goes by. Just speculation I know. I would be interested to see if I spent my races constantly just spinning red tops & Superstars out - If I can catch them that is! (Spinning cars out is not against the rules that I am aware of), a) What their reaction would be (I am sure I would be buried illegally and often) and b) What Admin would do. (I could be kicked or warned about my future conduct) - and all this without a complaint! Cos lets face it, it's an all different story when it happens to you!
  18. Everytime I race a meeting a certain driver suffers, so I'm not racing at present, to give them space to do their magic on track. Even in practice this driver practices spinning me to get me out of the way! However it's working as they have won a final and top point scored in my absence - it cannot be a coincidence Sympathise with you Dan, it's the one thing I don't miss with not racing - the got to get past at all costs or hey group of cars lets pile in!
  19. All that effort for 4 points!!! Slowly sliding back down the table! Hard work but felt I kept up, got spun in three races but battled back just finishing outside the points each time. If I hadn't of been spun the points tally may have justified the effort lol Good meeting, thanks to Kane & Stumpy
  20. I haven't tried the RallyCross since it came out as the game kept crashing, so I stuck just to the rallying (Which I wasn't very good at - couldn't set the car up very well). Dependent on when you would be racing, would depend on whether I can give it a go, as racing three times a week and a bit more for practice, my missus wouldn't be too chuffed
  21. Not sure what to say about this meeting. I seem to be able to lap quick enough from yellow and have worked on my consistency in lap times, but none of that matters if you cannot handle traffic. I think I have to toughen up more now to get anywhere, but this will cause my driving to go back to erratic and unstable! I am happy to follow cars, to the flag if necessary but last night no other yellow (with exception of Ricky) was happy to follow me. As soon as I passed them I was belted next bend, which lost me time and track position. Maybe it's just me not them, but working together at the beginning of the race (especially how the grade gaps have seemed to shrunk when the Go is called) surely gives us a better chance of a good finish? So all three heats and the W&Y's had the same pattern as stated above, very frustrating, as my best was an 8th and first reserve for the A Final. The three car B Final was a hoot - Managed to win that one as Ricky ballsed up with one lap to go. In the GN, fortune struck as although the same pattern did occur as in the heats, this time I was able to gather it up again as the blues were squabbling and falling back quite some way. I just followed the yellow top to the flag without putting in a challenge as I was happy to get 3rd and didn't want to loose it unnecessarily challenging for 2nd. Well done to all the winners, no idea who they were as I was too far back to see! PS Ben please leave me alone on track, your stalking of me is just not healthy for you or me
  22. Well my first ever time as a red roof in rFactor and its just a different league back there! Decided to let the two superstars go in my first heat, so I could see if I could just keep up; wasn't expecting to get in the places so take it as it comes scenario. After one lap I was facing the wrong way, thanks to being spun out by a Superstar! A racing incident but now well and truly last - Great Start!!! lol Managed to gain 10th after a couple of whites spun out during the race - So a point scored in my first race as red - RESULT!!! Second heat, I made a tweak and was more comfortable and just kept battling away to a great 8th place. The final was daunting - 25 cars - I was pole red, so a lot of fast drivers behind and a lot of drivers in front who could potentially cause havoc on this tight track. I started off well holding my own in the hussle and bussle only to come off turn 4 and just see a wall of cars!! I closed my eyes and kept my foot in and to my sheer amazement I was the first car that came out of the pile up AND I had all four wheels attached!! I went from 19th to 7th or something like that! Now all I had to do was keep it going and miss the carnage all around the track. Come the flag I had only lost one further place to a fast red so to finish 8th out of 25 from red was truly a miracle in itself, and well chuffed Grand National should have been split into two races - can't find the logic of running it all in after the hectic Final that several complained about. I didn't think I would be lucky twice in a meeting to go from 20th to a top ten finish and I was proved right, although I did get to 7th at one point. So 10 points from red - I only thought I could score 10-15 points per meeting from yellow, and only scored 4 points from my one appearance at blue, so my expectation from red was don't score zero!! Not a bad start, but with two fast tarmac tracks coming up and a tight tricky shale track, I fear that I will be back to my expectation but while I am here - Let's give it a go!!! Thanks to Admin for the meeting (GN withstanding) and to all the winners - they were hard fought!
