Thanks for all the work you put in Kev

It would be a nice addition if Grannys had that type of front strut/coil-over! lol

The problem may be at BT not your pc.

The models look good in the pics, I'll try to catch both of you on msn about whether they could be made part of uk-dirt. Cheers NickM

£4.80 for a shell? if so thats very good, they used to be alot more than that. I'm from Maldon in Essex, as far as I know my nearest tracks are Ipswich and Basildon, bit too far to travel really. I used to race RC cars at a track in Maldon but it was non contact.
-
looks great fun, shame there isn't a track a little closer to me, looks like it cost's a bit in shells if they are still the sort of price they used to be.

The damage on the bangers in heat is modelled unless you have vert damage enabled (which u shouldn't for online play) The damage in those screen shots is vert damage calculated by the game engine.
-
The rFactor physics engine is far superior to Nascar heat The graphics engine is far superior to Nascar heat The online play is claimed to be brilliant ( this is something we plan to test once we have a fully working car and track) Rfactor is fully moddable and it doesn't need a super quick pc especially for the sort of tracks we use in the uk-dirt league, so most people would not need to upgrade. At the moment me and a few others are just testing for suitability, it may turn out to be no good, but at least we've tried.

why?? we are ukdirt we use nascar heat as our base game, rfactor is good but what about modding it at least with heat we have a game that we understand, would the model builders be able to create the standards of models we have come to expect, would the game play be as true as it is now?? can we just thank our luck someone invented heat before we look to far in the future and ask for members to upgrade graphic cards and systems etc. nascar heat and its mods will run for ages yet, a lot of people have bent over backwards to make ukdirt work, before saying " wot a great game rfactor is lets change" at least have the good manners to praise the creaters of ukdirt and nascar heat for their creations. i am sure with time we will have to move on, but i am also sure it wont just be because a game is better than heat. some people will never be satisfied. I think you need to calm down! Where in Mitch's post did he say that he didn't appreciate the work done on the nascar heat mod? As it happens me and a couple of other people are looking at whether rFactor could be a heat replacement, IMO, though heat is a great game it is way behind the times now and for this league to continue to grow it/we have to eventually move with the times, that in no way means that anything done before is unapreciated. Here's a couple of very early screen shots, theres alot to learn about this game and alot of new things to understand but we are getting there slowly. If you feel you could help us, see my signature. For those of you that are Formula 1 fans and don't already use the live timing available on www.formula1.com I recomend trying it, it enhances the whole experience no end.

Ok I'll rename it 'show us the view from an upstairs window'
-
No snow here, in fact the sun is shining, you could start a new trend here called 'show us your back garden'

Yeah thats the one Mitch, I went to the pits to take a look at the car and just couldn't believe the tiny gap between the drivers side bulkhead and the seat, luckily the steering wheel had gone to the right away from the driver.
-
Here's the pic that Munster sent me before from T-bone mag. It's a shame it's not colour but you can still see it was a big hit, the pasenger side bulkhead is against the roll cage, Wolfy climbed out completely unhurt. [attachmentid=5181]

Anyone else tried the newly released Lienz track for rFactor? It's totally blown my socks off! If you haven't tried it or you haven't got rfactor you are missing out! there's a few screen shots in this thread but to get a true feeling of it, you need to race it.
-
Vince Wolf being followed in by 2 Gladiators at Mildo in the 90's rates as one of the biggest crashes I've seen at that track, Munster sent me a black n white pic of it before from T-bone mag, but I can't seen to find it at the mo, anyone else remember it?, I bet Trash does.

You don't have to have the brazil plugin, I don't use it for my renders, if I get time and if nobody else does it before me, I'll try to write a quick explaination of what settings to use.
-
How about instead of wasting so much time arguing the pro's and con's of what makes a good render and what doesn't and what makes a good model and what doesn't (which quite frankly are both down to individual opinion and could be argued until the end of time) Spend that time writing a little tutorial on how to do these things or even post a scene on here that people can use, it could include the model, the correct wheels a decent floor and be set up so that all someone needs to do is apply their skin and click render, that way you get perfect renders every time

Yeah that really was some hit, in fact that whole meeting rates as one of the best I've seen.

I have an Advent 7017 (PCWorld), it's ok for playing Ukdirt Bangers but it struggles a bit with the higher poly F1's if you have a decent number of cars visible, I'd say it's about the minimum spec you are gonna get away with really especially the video card, here's the spec... CPU Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz (Northwood) Memory 512 MB DDR SODIMM Screen 15" TFT (Native Res.1024x768) Video Card ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 64MB DDR Sound Card SiS 7012 audio chipset Netword Card SiS 900 integrated fast ethernet Hope that helps.

Can't disagree with that.

I always thought 'proper' door plates bolted right through both door skins not just 1!

A woman bent over in front of me once and I saw her knickers, does that count?!
