As Sparky says, the more boxy the car, the easier it is to model, a car with a boot will be easier than an estate type as you then dont have to model the inside of the boot area which can sometimes be tricky to get looking right. It's probably a good idea to model a car that we all ready have a template for, for your 1st model, that way you don't have the problem of making a template too, get that modelled, mapped and in game and you will have learn't an awful lot, your next model will be much much easier. Sparky, thats looking good, well done PS. This months PC Format magazine has a basic explanation of modelling a car and getting it in games such as rFactor and GTA San Andreas, could be worth a read, it's a great magazine anyway

you've extruded in the correct direction but you need to only select the edges that 'need' to be extruded ie: the edges around the outside of the shape, the edges that will make the bonnet, boot, roof, rear panels, floor etc. Also, the edges that will create the roof and door pillars should be extruded seperately as they don't need to be extruded very much.

I've just registered although like Lee I've no idea what I'm doing...yet.

Assuming you installed the glide wrapper to the default location 'Program Files', head to that directory, find the GlideWrapper directory within there, double click 'Configurator' and try altering some of the settings, you should also see 'Carmageddon 2' in the list of supported applications, you could try altering some of it's specific settings, do this at your own risk though

IMO it's not great, hence the reason I have stopped looking at creating a Banger mod for it until/if ever the collision detection is fixed.

Looking great Dazza, roof looks ok to me.

You need to use more verts to more accurately follow the shape of the car and you haven't quite mastered the creating the faces part lol imagine that the faces you create are pieces of a jigsaw that when put together creates an exact shape profile of the side of the car, those faces (or jigsaw pieces) would not want to overlap, their edges should butt against each other, it's difficult to explain but with practice you will get there, keep it up.

The great AndyG made nearly all of our tracks but whether he still has all the files is another matter.
-
Unfortunately as far as I know it isn't possible to make 'R' versions of existing tracks without having the original track makers working files.

Good luck with following the tutorial, if you get stuck or something isn't clear let me know.

Thats a rather splendid bracelet you have on your arm in the above picture Chewy, is there some 'secret' operation that you have had that requires the pharmaceutical in your possession...actually I'd rather not know.

Here's the terms and conditions from their website, no mention of taking out their phone service. No good to me though as where I live isn't within their network coverage yet.

I haven't looked into the small print I must admit, I was just given that impression, if anyone does look into this properly please could you let us all know.

Thanks for the pictures and explanations of what is in them No I haven't mate, would come in very handy if you can dig it out They sound great, cheers

MoR's reply is spot on. If anyone has a very good knowledge of 3d max and fancies trying to make a track I'm always happy to assist in any way I can but if you don't know your edge from your vertex or your loft from your extrude don't even think about trying to make a track until you've mastered more max tools.

Thanks to those people that have supplied pictures of Aldershot already but I still need more please before I can start work on modelling it, any pics will be much appreciated.

From what I can gather you have to subscribe to their phone system as well as TV, not sure on the cost of that though. Whilst on the subject of broadband, anyone on Virgin's £14.99 tariff can upgrade to a 1Mb connection free of charge if you haven't already.

Thanks for your continued work/support Kev
