With so many cars booked in for tonight we will run 3 heats with 2/3 of the car in each. The top 16 points scorers qualifying with the rest going into the consi where the top 4 will qualify for the final. There will be no B final however all the cars left will qualify for the GN. Points will be scored from 16 to 0 in the heats. The grid will be reversed from qualifying and practice times. The track automatically grids the cars into groups of 4. The first lap will be a roller at 30MPH, the groups must maintain the distance to the group in front during the rolling lap. A steward will call gogogo when the pole sitter is somewhere between Turn 3 and the S/F There will be a 5 minute warmup between each race, you may stay on the server while you are not racing however chat is banned during the races. We will not be using MIRC so please be on the server as early as possible. If you leave the server during the warmup session and you are in the next race you may be put to the back as grids will be set during warmup. We will be accepting bookings till 7, although a maximum of 30 cars will be allowed. If you book in after 30 cars then you will be added to a reserve list. If your rfactor name is different to your forum name can you let me know to make things easier. Heat lineups below. let me know if I have missed anyone or you are in all 3 heats. Did you have the leaked version of the mod installed. If you did delete everything and then install again. Are you using your own .veh. If so and it is not on the server you will get a mismatch. Are you using one of the skis deom rFactor central. Again if you are they are not installed on the server

The GMG are proud to announce a public beta of GRC Raceway Park. At this time the location has two tracks Fareham, and KR3W Raceway, both are avaliable in tarmac and shale versions. We are releasing this beta for you guys to find the bugs so please post them below along with any thoughts you may have. We would like to say a big thank you the UKSOM for the use of some of their models and especially to freew who put up with my endless questions. As this is a beta there are some test fetures as well as some unfinished areas The good Both tracks have been tested online and work in a race weekend with no reported problems. The tracks have the grid gradded in groups of 4 for ease of grid setting during the test meetings. The bad The beta is designed for online use so although you can race against the ai(in an actual race), in practice sessions they do not enter the track correctly. The pit guy at Fareham faces the wrong way The Ugly The center green textures at KR3W need to be updated The gap in the wall needs ends Rolling starts do not work Hope you enjoy guys and please give any feedback you have http://files.filefront.com/GRCRacewayParkr...;/fileinfo.html DanSkin Edit - New(er) link: http://files.filefront.com/GRCRacewayParkr...leinfo.html/1/1

The link just goes to the main shortcircuit website ... where abouts is the article / what is it called please ... Is it this article? Shifting Your Weight Distribution on a race car Apologies yes that is the article I was refering to

Always good to see a new face, we take bookings from everyone even Erik The servers are all set to disable manual gears, if you press enter the little HUD in the right hand corner will cycle through, one of the menus shows what aids you have on, I would suggest only running with auto clutch on. As an update to this weeks meeting, since it could be the last I run before MOR and DANSKIN take over I am planning on using the beta of one of my fantasy tracks. We have a closed test tonight and as long as we find no fatal floors I will make it public tomorrow.
-
Yea the server belongs to Hutch, I think he logged a support call last week but I am not sure. The main problem is that the hosting company have not got the there control panel sorted for rFactor so we cannot reboot it we have to wait for them to.

Cool, that last one is my new wallpaper
-
I should add to myy report above that during the Brum meeting the tyres lasted much better
-
I was trying to explain the principle of weight distribution on the server the other night. I don't think I made a very good job of it. I have however found THIS article by Short Circuit that explains it much better. I know we cannot actually measure corner weights, but these are still the basic ideas I use to setup cars in RF and it seems to work quite well. For anyone using one of my setups, adjusting the car as they explain towards the end should give you the results stated.

I think that was the best meeting we have had so far. We now have a core group of drivers who know the mod, how to drive the cars and more importantly know how to hit in them. I think 13 is a good number and since 20 is a full grid of cars we are slowly getting there As for the racing, I dont really remember any specific race, just lots of good close racing and respect being shown between the drivers. Actually I lie, I do remember the last corner of heat 1 getting caught in a sandwich between murph and Neil and going across the line backwards to nick 3rd from Murph These things are really hard work from the back though, definatly lost a couple more pounds in sweat last night

Server switched to Brum for some afters
-
Put up a server called GRC F1 Test meeting as the UK Dirt public server is very slow for some reason
-
Congrats mate
-
No thats fine we let people race anyway, it is really just to get an idea of numbers
-
TBH guys the only thing created in Max was the center green. The rest was created in Bobs track builder, and all the objects are taken from std ISI tracks.
-
thats just your old age scrapppy, ye cannae feel nowt through them big fingers of yours i can't drive unless i can feel whats hapening through the wheel, you can feel how the cars reacting to bends etc, FFB rules ....................... Real feel makes a huge difference to how the FFB feels in RF

I was bored a couple of weekends ago so I started making this to see if I could do it. Well it appears I could, it is not perfect infact it is nowhere near the std of freew's tracks but at least for online play it should work ok and give us another place to race even if it is a fantasy track. I have a couple more tweaks to do but then I plan to release a public BETA for you guys to pick wholes in possibly next week.
