  1. I thought the "little lad" was in reference to the shortish guy on the track until you mentioned that arrow whhoooaaa, what a great photo website!! Thanks for the pic of Jarman & co. When Stockcars were stockcars. Hope this new 2 litre formula will get a few of the old boys back on the track with the younger lads ...lets now just scrap the National saloons! that's not what its all about! Take it, that's liitle Pete Scrappy, on a school outing!??
  2. For me it looks like this after i installed the zeckenzack thing before that it was really crap Similar here..should be 640 x 480 graphics, or bit better. not on par with Heat, but gameplay more realistic! I still love the oil and rolled / snapped cars!
  3. Ipswich 410m Coventry 303m Birmingham 330m Buxton 380m Sheffield 340m I'll personally, physically measure all the above if required (including Chesterton/Stoke, Hednesford, Swaffham, Mildenhall, NIR, and Kings Lynn) wiv me lazer/infra red tape measure if required! (i visit all the obove on reg. occasions) - any particular photos required, I'll get em for ya. After watching the Semi-Final at Birmingham last Sat night, I definately think the track should be one of the 1st to be modelled in detail! A superb [asphalt] track for both the F1 / HotRod racing, and flood-lit atmosphere. I've been going there since more or less it began on the shale, (wiv a gap in the 90') and it's never really changed. (I have shale vids from the early 80's if you need them) Good luck to "the Stig" (and co.) and hope many of the models that need re-modelling can be done well. I do think there is much more that can be done with the Hot Rods other than just converting, most of the F1 models are superb as they are. As I work with Autocad 2006 and 3dSMax I would love to join in, but alas, as like many other wan-a-bees, I do not really have the time and can only offer my small support & help, and personally hope you can get the mod working by the 2007 season! ...and hope LOTS of improvements can be made to the game, not just the graphics. I understand the comments about "bandwagons" and fully support the "original crew" who seem to have made a 'comeback' for us, for one last improvement of the BriSCA game, with whome, mostly, originally started with Dirt/Heat...this is what most of us still think about you "RIP - Nascar Heat 2007, you have been one hell of a game old friend"
  4. was it an accident? was there oil on the track?? lol "mega-hit"
  5. Hope you can get it working right again ,mcpoo (They do look a little out of date though, "old skool stylee")
  6. WTF , why would anyone want 7 gears on a short oval! The small tracks only use one. Not sure how the driving aids would benefit much either, only traction control, but that would completely wipe out half the realism we're trying to acheive in a UK short oval mod. I've been thinking about the driving one way through the pit gate too, and having a realistic pit area on as many tracks as possible would be awesome. The floodlighting will add so much atmoshpere to the racing. It's all these things that would improve the game graphically, not so much the tiny added extra touches on the cars.
  7. Funny as fook. It had to be a Scotsman that invented golf!!!
  8. soz forum/internet explorer crashed on me twice! Only side on pics of 606 I got are attached. A little blurred but you can still use them for the graphics. Dont diss em because my son took em, and he's only 3
  9. Same spec as my mobile phone, lol
  10. lol aye the questions were like 'what was the average speed of the winner in 1952?' or summat lol....the book had a pic of every winner with the stats for the race i had it for the amiga....mouse control was superb (steer by sliding the mouse either way, then throttle and brake on the 2 buttons <sighs> soooo simple and effective too) I think there was only about 30 questions so you could soon learn the answers though if you had the book (a great instructon book it was). I saved & bought an extra 512kb of ram costing about £30 especially just for the replays in that game. A whole 1mb of ram my Amiga had, and I boasted about it to my mates when I got it, lol. None of my other games even required it. more about the game... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indianapolis_..._The_Simulation After (or before) that were, Stunt Car Racer , great game & soooperb on 2 player, but you needed two TV's and a link between the Amiga's which was a pain dragging my "portable" 21 inch Sony Trinitron 2 miles to me mate's house! Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, again great on 2 player, even if it was a bit of an arcade game, Supercars I&II, Crammond's 1st Grand Prix Game, was amazing when it came out (if a bit slow, due to the "detailed" graphics). I also enjoyed "Vroom". It wasnt brilliant, but the graphics were so smooth and fast at the time. I got the first Playstation the week it was released, and loved all the TOCA series, especially the 1st & 2nd ones, which seemed to have real character. Owned various Rally, Granturismo, Destruction Derby, Nascar, and Indy car games, in amongst footy games, and shoot-em-ups. my 1st ever racing game was in 1984, on the Amstrad CPC464 (with colour screen!) called Grand Prix, where the car would "slide" on the screen from side to side, and explode, as soon as you touched the grass. I had a great Superbike game on the Amstrad as well. I only got my 1st PC when I "found" BriSCA Heat in about 2002, then F2 Heat, SSC Heat....and so on!
  11. How can you say those screenshots look poor!! They look fappin amazing. How about real photos of the crowd at the Cov World final being included as the crowd in the game! The main thing is physics, but I hope any new tracks can be made as detailed as possible!!
  12. I couldn't see any way of doing it, no, another reason I've stopped making a banger mod for it. I dont think the game's much good for bangers unfortunatley. It's a shame none of these new games, ever seem to have realistic crashing, damage, etc. I had a game called "Indy 500" on my Amiga in something like..1992! (its prob, crap if I play it now, lol) but from memory it was a fantastic simple, realistic game, with very realistic crashing, and still one of my favorite racing games I've ever had. One track, choice of just 3 superb cars, lots of set-up, that was it. Once there was a pile-up caused by an AI car spinning out and wiped out 29 cars from the race going to full course yellow, lol. A lot of people didn't rate it cos "it was going round in circles" but I thought it was superb, just for the crashing if nothing else, and the difficulty rating was perfect. It had fantastic long replays too and probably one of the 1st games to have them.
  13. You still not managed to download it, lol get a download manager (search for one in google, such as "Flashget", etc), and then you should receive it fine, or try a different download link. (Windows should have one built in by now!!) I'd imagine if you have say a 2mb speed broadband, it shouldn't take much more than 1 hour, 3 hours at the most. I think your broadband service provider, must cut you off after a certain length of time, or its in your setting when you installed their equipment.
  14. Aerofoil looks superb. The colours seem to want slight adjustment, and the A1 needs doing by hand rather than using a font. You could pinch the outlines of the pic and touch em up a bit. Had a look through my F2 pics, but got no decent low ones of the car.
  15. Will look great with driver in and 'all skinned up' ...oh..and the boot spoiler, lol
  16. Try DH Videos on 01204 395406. He was probably filming the meeting if it was 5 or 6 years ago.
  17. I've had this for some time now, and am just getting back into it again...one thing I just thought of that the game is missing... ...is where the drivers can get out the cars (Similiar to GTA Vice City etc) and kick the bleep out of each other after an accident! Would be a fantastic addition to the game!
  18. Who's going To Rockingham Ovalfest on 9th 10th September? http://www.ovalfest.co.uk/ Hope anyone who is not going elsewhere can make it for this, and get as many people there as poss. If you've never been, its a fantastic venue also with loads of entertainment for the family and kids. Views are superb and the F1's will be hitting 100+, with the Hot Rods making about 115mph down the straight!! Smokin' brakes or what!! They missed an oportuntity to put the F2's out with the Superstox though, lol, and I take it they didn't like the idea of national bangers on the track Saturday events - National Hot Rods Superstox SCSA Cars Pickups Stock Rods Lightning Rods And Legends Cars Sunday events - BriSCA F1 Stockcars National Hot Rods Stock Rods Lightning Rods Legends Superstox Plus the King of the Rock Shootout Final (top drivers from each formula head-to-head) £5000 to the winner and if the racing does end up being crap, there's a new drive-in cinema, which you tune your radio into for the sound! Hopefully they wont be showing Days of Thunder! Eddie the Eagle, has offered to strap himself to the top of a car, on his skis ... to beat the 164 mph World Record for Skiing on top of a car!!, nutter!!
  19. It was announced on Saturday. Hope Ringwood will be ok as Spedeworth wont be going back
  20. there is no Wet Racing in rFactor....yet! Its supposedly coming in the future but not sure when and certainly no time soon Still a bloody good game without it though! ...Hopefully will be coming one day though!
  21. IMO it's not great, hence the reason I have stopped looking at creating a Banger mod for it until/if ever the collision detection is fixed. It's not just me then shame because it's what makes half the fun in most car games, spectacular but realistic crashes. It will make a fantastic Rod game though, and BriSCA's
  22. lol, It's even harder once you've had a couple crashes, and lost both wings = no downforce. Best to drive round with the pitlane limiter on Can't wait to see the much more detailed tracks & cars, choices of night and day racing, wet racing, muck & tyre rubber coming onto the cars, being able to spectate in races, pace cars even could be included in some races. Even more choices of setup. Cooler replays, etc, etc ...and no more 'flying' cars! What do you think of the collision detection of the game?
