  1. dont forget to download the realfeal.ini that I have attached and drop it into your main rfactor folder. this is a seperate configaration file for the real feal plugin which you already have Southy. basically when you run the realfeal plugin for the first time, after a few laps it should create a .ini file in the main rfactor folder - delete that one and use the one I have attached instead. hope that makes sense?
  2. I still have the message Drumb. The whole car felt completely different once I used these settings for the wheel to be honest. try them out Southy and see what you think. Personally it made a huge difference to me and the FFB felt much better. I can 'feel' what the car is actually doing now. Only thing I changed was the force feedback strength from -100 to -45, but that it just a personal thing as I found it too strong for my liking. forgot to add - the real feel attachment is the .ini file which is the settings file for it - think you just drop it in the main rfactor root folder? RealFeelPlugin__1_.zip
  3. its like bloody fly paper lol!!! needs changing in my opinion as it is way too sticky. looking back, I think i was more miffed at me not being able to get off the wall and finish heat one in a top ten place than I was about Dan's big hit. any other track and I would have been able to recover to at least finish. Sorry Dan for having a pop, just think the wall frustrated me a bit too much. as the bends are so narrow here you only have to give a tiny nudge wide and its like sh*t on a blanket, then you feel a bit bad for practically finishing their race. all in all I thought both meetings were really good though, and I would personally like to race knockhill more often wd drumb on the title - well deserved over both legs.
  4. good nights racing I thought. brilliant track as it makes you think about it a bit more than the usual normal ovals. wd to Lee on the points haul and wd to Drumb 'I hate this track' stick on the final win haha. only gripe for me was a certain few lower graders who seem to think it is ok to get in everyones way when they are over two laps down. would be nice to see some common sence from them in the future. lets be honest by that point your race is over guys, so you may as well either pull off or at least move over when you are being lapped. I dont mean that as a lower grader bashing at all, its just that I got any chance of finishing in the top 10 in the final or gn ruined by this. I didnt pull off in the final when trying to catch the pack back up, but I did go wide for Drumb and Lee when they were lapping me, as to me that is polite and the correct racing etiquette for this formula.
  5. very keen to know this myself Walker - having just bought a driving force GT wheel, and it feels very different to my old sidewinder - also interested to see what are the best settings to have real feal set to in the .ini file if anyone wants to share. my current setting feel way to hard/strong on the feedback and I have it currently set to -30 ish on low!!!
  6. definitely a frustrating night - didnt even get one race here as my steering wheel decided to pack up just as I clicked into the national race not sure when I will be back racing tbh, as I am pretty skint at the moment and cant afford a new wheel. May be a few months at least. see you when I get a bit of cash lads. Wd Tom.
  7. just to bump this one... get booked in lads - theres 13 booked in at the mo, 4 or 5 more and this meeting will be quality. really easy to drive, the default set up is pretty much on the money, and I am sure a few of the guys will help with a setty if you ask them nicely lol. I even reckon admin won't mind if you turn up in a novice car (I will be as Idont have a skin in yet)
  8. well first impressions after my first meeting......loved it really good fun mod, not taken too seriously which was great. just can't believe these don't get a much bigger turnout to be honest. I found them really easy to drive and the default set up that comes with the game isnt a million miles off the pace either which makes a change lol. if you are someone who is thinking of racing but find Rfactor difficult, then this is definitely the mod to start with in my opinion, as you can just pick it up and play. perhaps it might be worth doing some posters or something to attract a few others in?
  9. aweful night yet again and it seems to be getting worse all the time. At the moment it feels that every week at least one race of mine is ruined by dodgy driving, ott hitting or just someone p*ss*ing about. I like to take the f2 mod quite seriously to be honest, so the ridiculous driving standards are really starting to get on my nerves a lot now. at least twice I got taken right to the wall which is outragous when you consider how deep the corners are here, and then got completely wiped out of finishing at least 6th in the grand national by a car that came flying off the infield straight into the side of me!! I didn't even get an apology after the race and you wonder why I start f'ing and jeffing to the point that I get kicked from the server. Its getting so bad that I am seriously considering taking a long break from these and trying something else out like the saloons, which I imagine are kept a bit more light hearted? Please start disciplining bad driving with bans because its the only way people wil learn not to do it again. There is an etiquette to driving these which a lot of people need to learn imo. I appreciate that you are trying to get the numbers/attendances up, but I would personally rather race with 10 drivers who show some respect than a large field of cars who don't. As things stand at the moment it seems that people are leaving the mod which is not the way forward, and I can see myself doing the same soon if things don't change. This is my favourite mod by some way, so I want things to change quickly.

  11. your computer sends out a packet of information to a server, the server bounces it back and your computer then counts the time it takes it to return to your computer. that is your ping very basically. my ping to a game server is approximately 30ms give or take, so if your ping is 200+ms then I can see why your warping to be honest. the stars/asterix's on your trace test basically mean that the packets of information that were sent out to that server went completely missing. put that into a gaming scenario....your pc sends out packets of information to the game server which basically enable the server to map you in the game and show your car up to everyone. if the packets don't get there then the server cant see you and your car goes invisible to everyone. i.e warp. go on to pingtest.net and run the test, and post up your results. this test will give you your ping rating and show any packet loss you are having as well. the fact that you are getting reasonable download speeds sounds badly like your internet provider is throttling the line during peak times. when they do that you will end up with packet loss usually, which means you need to complain to them. unfortunately they won't always do anything about it and you may need to change providers to solve the problem. Other factors in bad connection can be the distance you are away from the telephone exchange and how old the exchange is etc. so sometimes changing providers won't even solve it. have you used a different provider before this one that you had a better connection with? as it may be worth going back to them mate.
  12. the stars/asterix's on the trace show a packet loss, and this means you will warp basically. I noticed the first hop states O2WirelessBox.lan which I assume is your router/modem? If you are running wireless then that is probably your problem, so the first thing I would advise is to wire it in via ethernet cables. If you are still having packet loss then it could be your firewall settings or more than likely it is your internet provider. Also I am personally not a big fan of end it all and have recently found and use a much better, easier and user friendly program called Game Booster 2. google it and give it a try Bobbert.
  13. http://www.ukdirtforum.com/index.php?showtopic=35638 run them in the order they appear on the thread Southy
  14. just spent 20 mins or so reading this, and for me I think you are all going off the boil to be honest. Team speak yadda yadda and team racing blah blah.... the bottom line as to why i think numbers are down, is simply that it is very difficult to drive it. I race tooz because I can handle the car enough to be competitive, which makes it enjoyable, but I struggle to be fast or even consistant enough to want to race f1's. I have put in a fair few hours offline on this mod, but simply find it too hard to control. I have a decent pc and a wheel before anyone tells me to buy one etc. It is a simulator and that shouldn't be changed in my opinion, but I don't see how you can ask why the numbers are down when I probably imagine most newbies think the same as me? If i could control the car like I can control the f2's I would probably race them (as I did both mods with heat), but I will be man enough to admit they are simply to powerful for me.
  15. I have Avira as well ken, and it picked the same virus up. it seems to be ok though. it seems to read the installer/.exe as the virus you mention for some reason, but once the track is installed and you delete the .exe download, Avira won't pick anything up mate. I was dubious as well to start with, so d/l it to an external hard drive and then scanned it, and it picked up nothing on the actual track file. I then d/l the .exe/installer and it read that as a virus, so i reckon it is a false reading Ken. My pc has been fine since I installed it.
  16. sorted it had to use safari to download it as internet explorer weren't having it for some reason!!!
  17. same error for me - even when I turn my anti virus and firewall off!! any ideas?
  18. is that working for you Dave? as I get an error message saying that the connection with the server was reset.
  19. hi guys, the westworld link isnt working here or on the ukdirt site. can someone put it up for d/l again please?
  20. god I hate this track lol. every year I do aweful here. thought the hits were way ott tonight from some drivers, and some driving was generally aweful again. Seems to be the story of the season so far for me and I am struggling to enjoy the racing at the moment as a result of it. think it was the gn - first lap practically, Samwit pretty much took me to the wall and into a crashed parked car!! Sorry to use you as an example Sam, but seriously, driving like that just makes the red mist decend. Once I had caught you up I pretty much had to hammer you as hard as i could to get passed, so I knew the hit wouldnt come back next bend!! my car being written off most of the night pretty much summed it up. hopefully things will settle down soon. wd tom though, you seemed to avoid the crap all night.
  21. nezza 'wheres me flashing lights gone?' 46 please lol
