A good preview Admin - Great Stuff. Given me the impetus to book in (along with my 250 laps practice!) to try and prove you wrong!!!! Good Luck to all
-
250 laps last night and I can now get round without spinning often!!! I have also improved my lap times as a consequence but that was with having the track to myself, and I used most of it!!!! There is just one tyre that sticks out and I seem very attracted to it, along with one post on either straight, but avoid them I will try. The test will come in practice tonight, racing with other drivers around me. So for now booking in unless tonights praccy goes horribly wrong

Mav #641 - Blue please.

Having just watched the replays, I must have been at a different meeting to what I thought I was at!!!! I was frustrated from the opening laps of the European, and that frustration grew till lap one Grand National, as I felt the racing was working against me and things were going wrong due to others inept ability to race. Thank goodness for the replays adding clarity to the proceedings European - pleased to survive the first bend, then the first lap then finding myself in 3rd. Tom 1st, Robin 2nd, and I thought cant let them get away, so went for a hit but missed. Robin was then took out by Woody?? and I found myself in 2nd but due to overdriving the exit to the bend I started to loose control and hitting Nezza and Dode, as I wrestled to keep the car straight but I just ended up spinning out and down to 21st!! Got back upto 15th or so - but again a bit of luck deserted me, but did feel for Nezza and Dode when they ended up 11th/12th after running 2nd/3rd for a long time - where I should have been!! Well Done Tom - European Champion, not an easy run from front row. Heat One, great start, up to 2nd but Lew just clipped my back bumper and sent me spinning and down the positions I went. Got back to 10th and had a great race with Spike, which ended with him, I thought, doing the dirty on me but looking at it, it was a combination of us both loosing control and I came off worse!! No finish. Heat Two, got shafted right from the start and taking a heavy hit from Tom, when I was going to move over. Lap or so later there he was right in front of me, so with the UK Open in mind I went in and didnt stop. I came out but Tom didn't. Two or three laps later Tom rejoined - After using the infield pits to repair his car - and proceeded to follow me in on two occassions. I wasn't in the places, although I was having a good race with Grasser #233, so it was quite strange to be trying to dodge Toms hits as well as trying to stay in front of Grasser! Final, Drove very well in this but I dropped back early on, got back upto 8th but the charging reds passed me, leaving Dave and I to battle it out, which he won - Ended up 11th - Hate finishing 11th!!! GN, Got pole but Harold was off like a shot. Had some good fortune and managed to break away, and when Harold was took out, I lead for 10 yards before LeeK passed me. Held on with only Woody passing me and really chuffed to have finished a race in the points So having seen the replays, I am quite happy with the meeting Congrats to Kendo #912 for taking the Final, good to have a final win in both Heat and rFactor. Well Done m8

I am sure I have tried the default setup before and couldn't get on with it, so therefore I think its my driving style that is at fault. I'll have to do some testing and see what I can do. If the server is up on tuesday evening / night, i'll do a fair bit of praccy to see what I can sort out. Thanks for the info guys.

I'm currently not booking in for the meeting as I cannot do more than five laps without spinning on the racing line. I just don't want to take the chance of ruining someone elses chance of qualifying, and I am sure it would be Johno!!! If anyone would like to share their setup or give me understandable ways of stopping the car spinning, then I will be willing to test it and if successful would book in. I don't have to be fast or well on the pace, just competent around the oval. All I am hoping for is to pick up a minor placing in the top ten. Any help would be appreciated

Wasn't too hot around NIR last time around, nor had any slice of luck in Championships so far this season, but one things for sure - I will be trying!!! Can't wait for the grid to be called, should be a good race if everyone shows, so GOOD LUCK
-
You did end my race Tom as you broke my wheel, but I knew that you didn't know it wasn't me who put you in, was disappointed to exit the race early, but it happens. Very happy to have won a race last night after I couldn't get comfortable with driving Skegness, was unlucky with incidents in the other heats and as I said earlier disappointed in the UK Open itself. But on the whole a good nights racing

Kendo can have my spot Spike cos I'm booking out.

Although not too sad to see you leave, I agree with the others, it´s another good driver gone and thats a shame. Had many ups and downs with you Davey over the seasons but you have been one of the better drivers in the new era of UK Dirt. All the best for what you do, and maybe you will do a Mav and return one day!

Nice One Dave!!! Well Done m8

Mixed feelings about this meeting, on one hand pleased to have finished 3 out of 4 races in top ten, especially scoring GN points for the first time in 16 attempts! and gaining the Yellow Grade Award for the meeting, but on the other, it could have been much more, if the blues had started from the right place. With having 6 yellows, it doesn't give much time for the back ones to settle into the race and develop a rhythm before the blues start piling in. Just why FT and Harman had to hit everything in their path, when it was just going to cause trouble I'll not understand. ANd next time guys (Munis aswell) KEEP THE GRADE GAPS!! But who said that Cowdie was a lower grade drivers track?? Looking at the points the lowest point scorers were the yellows, then came the whites!!! (With the exception of Kruiz who was not up to speed for the meeting) All the Blues, reds and Superstars were the top half point scorers! :-)

2010 F1 Stockcar Scottish Championship this thursday
Mav replied to Walker363's topic in F1 (rFactor)
I will be trying, but you need look no further than Trav for the 2010 Scottish Championship -
Great picture - shows me with all four wheels on!!! Not sure about the purple outfit I am wearing though!!! Overall was very disappointed with last nights events, as I had completed many laps practice offline on Sunday as no server was up, only to find on monday that the setup wasn't as good online. This set me back, but by start of the meeting I felt I had a good enough setup to get round and finish in the top ten. First heat, got spun out early on by Mark #18, but got my head down and reclaimed places to finish 8th. And that was it. Heat two, going well until Tom 112 spun DB 380 and in trying to avoid DB 380, Tom 112 dived down the track pushing my front end smack into an infield tyre - Suspension gone - end of race. Final, whether I was slow off the mark but by the first turn the reds were on me, DB 380 putting in a hard hit, I tried to hold it but next bend a gaggle of reds all barging about saw us tangle and DB 380 & I ended up hitting another infield tyre, not hard mind, but bang goes the suspension yet again - another DNF. GN again on the inside of someone who squeezes me into clipping a tyre and damage. Not enough to stop me circulating, but just couldn't get back into the top ten. I hate finishing 11th!!! lol Nice to see Spike win a final, although it was given but he still had to be there to inherit it, but I do believe it is his first ever F2 Final win - could be wrong though.

Congrats Pusher You deserve it as did Wrinkly in Heat last year. Good Luck from red and I hope to be alongside you next grading period - not saying whether I come up or you go down, only time will tell!!!!
-
Yeah Al, don't think I am ready for blue grade this season!!! Not unless my luck changes. Thats what I lacked again as in my heats, the blues were ontop of the yellows on the first lap, with FT trying to get a great start and messing it up for us. Dead last but finished 12th with damage following the leaders. Next I was on inside of Jarry, who shut the door (possibly due to someone on his outside) forcing me straight into a tyre. Dead last again but got back to 11th. Starting from pole in the final was definately better as I got away and held 3rd for a long time. Fought back when the reds passed, but they got away and I settled down and was really chuffed to make it across the line in 6th. Best shale result to date I believe. Yet again high hopes for the GN, of which I am yet to score a point in this season, but unknown as to why, Mike #315 followed me in on one lap, then tried again the next bend but I clipped a tyre taking us to the fence. On the exit of the bend he seemed to turn right on me and I found a fence post (is this a flaw in the game???) which stopped me dead right in the path of Walker and Trav - sorry guys. Car was extensively damaged so my race ended with no points yet again!!!! Overall, its a learning curve and was pleased how I went and to get 6th in the final outweighed the disappointment of the other races. Well Done to Big Al, its great to see drivers who genuinely try, getting some rewards in return. Tom finally bagged a final win, Congrats.

I agree with Pedz, it was hard from the back end of the grid. Having spun out in both heats and final, I was very pleased to get back into the top ten on two of those occasions, one being the final. GN was a good race also to claim 6th place. Very pleased with 13 points. Meeting had some good points for me, car control, using the bumper and most of all being on the pace. Enjoyed it and great to watch the replays in HD. Tom upto yellow, due to a good final win - Well Done. FT upto red please!!! oh and a skin please! Back for some more next week, before missing a week

Thx Tosh - Think its sorted. Will find out on monday!! Cheers

Having now managed to get rFactor up and running and ran a whole meeting at Wimbledon, I set about installing F2's for mondays meeting at Coventry. All installed ok, and it loads the game ok - problem comes when I try and create a new user "Mav_641" - the game just crashes and goes to desktop. The game will then not run at all. Once I delete the Mav_641 folder which houses the Mav_641.plr, the game runs fine again. Is this a windows 7 thing or is it an administration setting or what?? Most people have the same name/number for F1's and F2's so wouldnt be a problem for them, but has anyone else had a problem??

Finally after over a week of trying, I managed to get rfactor working on my new pc at about 6pm last night. Didn't have time to do any setup within rfactor, wheel etc, just went straight into praccy to get some form of setup (not raced here before) and to see the difference in the game due to the new pc. Not disappointed!!! It looks stunning at full spec, the skins and tracks are brilliant. However it hasn't improved my driving!!! I have no replays to view, as I didn't set them up to save, which is a shame as I thought the racing was very good last night. Only crashes brought problems not stupid hits etc, which is excellent to see and be part of. My first heat far outweighed my expectations - 6th after fighting for top places all race. Second heat back down to earth though, tried to give Skeet room whom was on my inside and I went too wide collecting a post on the straight - end of race. Chuffed to have qualified for the final, but without seeing a replay I have no idea how I came to hit the tyre, because I was bombing down the track on my normal line then suddenly there was the tyre!!! Whether someone was on my outside pushing me inwards I don't know. Did get damage but could carry on in the hope of 10th, but 13th or 14th was the best I could do. After Spike nailed everyone at the start and happily drove away, I get clear also, but just don't know how I went backwards from there, really need to see the replay of that one. I can remember giving love taps for several laps to Johno for 13th or so place during the race. Amazed I kept up with him for that long. All in all a decent night although only 3 points.

Looks like I am ok - so if I can have a place please. No worries if not Mike - I do have some gardening to do!!

I am trying to get my car ready!! Provisional Booking please. Will post as soon as I know.

Sorry but I have to cancel too. Have a new pc and I cannot get rfactor to work yet. Have repurchased the game as no activation codes left on old one (already done 10 activations!!), but up to my 4th on this pc with the new one, only one more chance left, before i have to complain to trymedia that i didnt get to use any of my 5 activations!! Everything was running fine until i went from patch 1.250 to 1.255 Anyway will be back once I have it sorted.

Going to have to cancel, sorry.

Having now watched the replays and obtaining a better judgement of what happened, I can say that it wasn't a bad two days racing. Wednesday was hard work with an out of date setup, and largely spoilt by the "Warpers" and Thursday was hard fought within the yellow grade as with only 2 or 3 blues, thus allowing the reds through quicker. Happy to have scored points in the meeting even though I am back to not qualifying for the A Finals again!! but extremely pleased in the UK Open, where I was a second away from clearing the first bend melee in a strong position, but overall very happy to have hung in there to finish 10th. Congrats to MOR, who took the advantage offered with both hands on the first bend, then successfully negociated the remaining laps to take the UK Open title. Daveyboy #380 is definately on an upgrading, too good for yellow, with taking the final with ease, and as for Danskin - thought we were racing Legends at one point!! lol - He too will surely be up to red after Sheffield - Well Done on top scoring. Other than sorting out the warp issue (which isn't an easy thing to do), Admin are doing a cracking job. Hopefully see you at Sheffield - should be easy to spot - the one getting in the way and facing the wrong way, no wait thats Spike!!! Cya all soon.
