Hi In your nascar heat folder should be a file called NHeat.exe, right click on it,click on properties and there should be a compatability tab,click on that,tick the box and choose win2000.

That is usually fixed by running the game in win2000 compatability mode

It sounds more like something is running in the background on your computer. Try using fsautostart to kill background tasks.

With XP I use the CmdHere.exe from microsoft this lets you right click on the folder and open a dos window.

You must have mktex and the tga in the same folder, and run the msdos command from that folder.

Hi It sounds as if it is getting to the point that windows changes the screen resolution,It may be that the graphics card is trying to start up in resolution not supported by the monitor. Try to start the computer in safe mode. (keep tapping f8 while it is booting) If it will start then load the drivers,set it to the lowest resolution then try to start normally.

Unless it is an old card which does not support 3d try a reinstall of directX,I had the same message when a game installed directX9 on a card which only supported directX7.

It was such a dump no one bothered to photograph it. Don't get me wrong it was a great track with a terrific, knowlegable crowd and if we broke the super so badly at Yarmouth or Eastbourne that we could not fix it for a thursday night we still did the 300 odd mile round trip to watch. But it was still a dump.
