I was asked by Tombo how to make floor textures in 3D Max, i dunno how everyone else does them but im gonna show my way. Firstly, for easy of use i use the Reflective Floor someone kindly made for us, if you havn't got it click on the link below, iv also included a "Dirt Floor" texture to get you started. [attachmentid=5363] Open it up in 3D Max, im using 3D Max 8, if your using a different version im sure it will be the same. Once open you should see somthing like this [attachmentid=5351] Then, highlight the floor, once the floor is selected, press "M" on your keybord, that will bring up the Material Editor [attachmentid=5352] Select any of the objects on the top box, iv used the Green one, Then find "Maps" on the options below, click it if you can't see the selection (shown in screen shot below) Tick the "Diffuse Colour" box, then click on the box i have highlighted with the yellow lines, [attachmentid=5353] Then this should come up, [attachmentid=5354] Click on the "Bitmap" box [attachmentid=5355] Then double click on the "Bitmap" on the list [attachmentid=5364] That should bring up a window for you to select your .bmp image, in this case, a grass texture, then click "Open" [attachmentid=5357] Then you should see the texture rapped around the object. Then you click the two buttons iv highlighted in red [attachmentid=5358] Then you should see somthing like this below If the Texture looks really stretched, you will have to tile it to increase the detail, to tile a texture adjust the options in the section iv highlighted with the red square, when your happy with the tiling click the red cross iv indicated. [attachmentid=5361] Thats the texture applied to the floor, if you play around with the lighting and render it you should hopfully have a nice grassy field like this [attachmentid=5362] Then add a few cows and its finished lol You can use any texture you want, iv used a dirt texture before that looked quite good You can use any texture you can find, just remeber it must be a .bmp file, but if it isn't you can easily convert it, the best place to find textures (apart from a texture site wich you have to pay for some) best place is good old Google Images I hope this has helped you out, if you have any questions or problems, just add a reply to this thread and i or somone will help you further. I got it for the PC, i use a Game Pad though, very similar to a PS2 pad The controls are hard to master, but iv got hang of them now, and they don't seem that hard, but very acurate and gives you much more options and you can do many moves, espectially the "execute" moves, some are really grizzley, once youv learnt the controls its a great game! im just having trouble taking over a Warehouse, need lots of guns and ammo, and need to upgrade my Heath and shooting points, then im gonna take it over!! lol cheers Rikard

As the tital says i got it yesterday, its a great game, good fun. I bought it from the Shop Game, and they done a limited edition case with it, its like a coffin that the game case comes in, really cool, it was only availble at Game, i looked on the site today and they sold out of the Coffins (that caem free) so hopfully will be worth somthing on Ebay in years to come, il try and get a photo up on here later of it

Looks good there mate, well done I find doing skins fo F1s and F2s hard, tricky and annoying, so making a good one it a job well done

very true but the more we race the less there are about so inevitably the price goes up. most expensive car i raced was a mk2 hearse that cost me 150. my dolly only cost me 51 quid and was unleaded aswell. bonus. the other day when i said in chat you can get a montego hearse and limo some people didnt believe me. heres the proof. scroll down and enter the colman-milne section http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/index.htm?lm10indexf.htm your right Damo, that montego limo looks quite smart, plus i wouldn;t mind taking that women in the back for a test drive either

200 squid? how can people manage to afford that every few weeks? if i done banger racing i could only really afford to pay about £1.99 per car, and thats scraping the barrel! id better stick to racing just online

The damage on the bangers in heat is modelled unless you have vert damage enabled (which u shouldn't for online play) The damage in those screen shots is vert damage calculated by the game engine. wow, sounds really good! is it simple to turn on vert damage onfor off line play? just to test it out? or isn't it worth the hassel Rikard
-
is it me or in those screen shots does the damage look different?
-
At spedeworth you see alot of Orions used in the Rookie Banger meetings, the bigger engine ones seem quite nippy aswell, What ever you chose be sure to post up some pictures of the car before and after the meeting Rikard

since everything on that CD is downloadeable for free why doesn't someone write in on the question bit telling him and others! does anyone know who it is?

Is there anyway of upgrading the forum so we can have more usage and raise or loose the cap? I know this would cost money but i would be willing to donate and im sure others would be to Rikard

I wound't have though so, it would be dangerous to bring it back if it was wrecked, cause the wheels may not be free to move round, or the body may drag on the road and damage the surface, also if the wheels are bent and buckled it may not tow in a striaght line, plus the wheels could fall off and wouldn't be that stable, If the police saw they may hjave a word to, im sure you could attach a trailor to that truck though Rikard

Best thing to do mate is update your anti virus software and do a compleate system scan, than after that do a compleate system spyware scan, i use adware, if you don't have it you can get it here http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ Its best to scan for spyware at least once a week, maby more if you have problems, Hope your PC can recover, but if it is going down make sure you can save as much work of it as you can Hope this helps, Rikard
