big al 515 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Sideways shale racing? Surely not the way we should be going?
Rikard Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Iv registered mine to the full version, i was pretty painless (apart from the £30 on me mums credit card ) The online racing is good as well, i just got used to driving the F1 car with a load of driving aids, then straight into a server, and most of the driving aids were disabled by the server, so i had (and caused) a few crashes and pile ups, i thought id be the only one to crash, but most corners i went round i saw the gravel trap had claimed another victim, i couldn't laugh too long as i knew id be next, great fun

Best to drive round with the pitlane limiter on Can't wait to see the much more detailed tracks & cars, choices of night and day racing, wet racing, muck & tyre rubber coming onto the cars, being able to spectate in races, pace cars even could be included in some races. Even more choices of setup. Cooler replays, etc, etc ...and no more 'flying' cars! What do you think of the collision detection of the game?

Best to drive round with the pitlane limiter on Can't wait to see the much more detailed tracks & cars, choices of night and day racing, wet racing, there is no Wet Racing in rFactor....yet! Its supposedly coming in the future but not sure when and certainly no time soon Still a bloody good game without it though!
Nick M48 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 What do you think of the collision detection of the game? IMO it's not great, hence the reason I have stopped looking at creating a Banger mod for it until/if ever the collision detection is fixed.

It's not just me then shame because it's what makes half the fun in most car games, spectacular but realistic crashes. It will make a fantastic Rod game though, and BriSCA's

Frits392 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Alrite.. wizz kid that i am cant find out realy wich links i need to click to get a free demo so, ermmm, if anyone ermmm... You just download the file (700mb) and you get two cars & tracks to trial on, ignore the purchasing bits and scroll down to the mirrors: http://www.rfactor.net/index.php?page=buyonline I dont think you can race online or add mods but you'll get the idea of what its like. Hi, I clicked that link, then on Download Links, then rFactorCentral 1 (just picked one) been dloading it this evening, stopped at about 600 mb, gave a icon on desktop and when i double click that one it says: NSIS Error The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus. You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy. It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED) Wich link should be working ok?
Guest Scrapman53 Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I'd try the Image Space Incorporated one if there's one. That's who made the game.
splinter Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I've had this for some time now, and am just getting back into it again...one thing I just thought of that the game is missing... ...is where the drivers can get out the cars (Similiar to GTA Vice City etc) and kick the bleep out of each other after an accident! Would be a fantastic addition to the game!
tilly Posted August 8, 2006 Author Report Posted August 8, 2006 (edited) lool i can imagen some1 stopping u last bend of a world final get out and give it to them Edited August 8, 2006 by tilly
AndyG Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I've posted these before, but they might be new for some. An F1 in GTL (same graphics engine as rFactor as Dino says), and only a very quick conversion, a proper job would look much better than this. If the chaps working on this project want to get in touch with me (via PM) I'll offer as much advice and help as I can.

AndyG Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 And a quick one in rFactor itself (ignore the hack conversion bugs).

Tombo209 Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 nice looks amazing and it even looks rendered
Sam Appleton Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 god that F1 in rF menu has wetted my pantaloons Please....I beg of you guys....make this Real It is real, just we havent let u lot get ur grubby little mits on it yet as its a hullava long way from finished. but we are working on it, and i can tell you that the pics from andy look quite poor in comparison to some of the work that has been going on This'll be good too. http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=257603 this is good, as this is our kinda side project so we dont get bored with going round in circles, and also so we can learn and test new techniques. there are a few group B cars in development, and we are getting well on the way to letting them loose. plus i know of at least 2 WRC cars as well... will keep u posted

Sam Appleton Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 when its ready, it will be shown. anyway, the F1's arent mine to splash around
AndyG Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Cool. Best not to call my stuff "poor" in the meantime then
splinter Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 and i can tell you that the pics from andy look quite poor in comparison to some of the work that has been going on How can you say those screenshots look poor!! They look fappin amazing. How about real photos of the crowd at the Cov World final being included as the crowd in the game! The main thing is physics, but I hope any new tracks can be made as detailed as possible!!
erik Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I've now got the full version of rFactor. There are templates for cars on the rFactor site, but does anyone know how to get skins into the game?
