Well done boys, superb

fbf is right, the pictures for modelling need to be exactly right, do to the amount of forum space this thread is taking up, it might as well be deleted.

These are the about the only pics I have of me racing, can you spot the trend?! [attachmentid=17436] [attachmentid=17437] [attachmentid=17439] [attachmentid=17440] [attachmentid=17441]

You may have to run it through some sort of emulator as it's a very old game, I still have it somewhere but what specs does it ask for?

Highly recomended Banger videos from the 90's
Nick M48 replied to Nick M48's topic in Real Life Racing
Re-living nineties bangers would be brilliant, it was certainly the peak and I'm so glad that I was around to witness alot of it at the tracks around my area. Due to many circumstances Bangers are only going to go more and more downhill in the years to come, sad If all Banger drivers move into 2L Saloon stocks or F1's then things wouldn't be all bad -
Looking great so far reg

I did, unfortunately the blokes running it were complete I wanted the build rules, I asked the bloke in the main hut thing, he sent me to someone else, I went to him, he sent me to some one else, I went to him and he sent me back to where I started, so I gave up! Racing wise they seemed a bit too strict for my liking anyway, plus it's all non contact.

I agree Scrappy, the normal man is simply being more and more priced out of all short circuit formulas these days If only I could win the lottery jackpot, I have big ideas about getting the normal man back racing.

I think this thread is a good idea, although if someone is going to model one of the cars on here, they should say so, so that 2 people don't start doing the same car. Maybe us modellers could put requests on here too, I don't get much access to bangers these days so it's hard for me to get pictures sometimes. I'd like some pictures of Mk2 Granada parts if possible so that I can model a detailed Granny for my game, I'm talking about interior shots, pedals, steering columb, footwells, the inside of wheel rims, brake drums and disks, engine (all angles), engine bay, gearbox, wheel arches, inside of the boot, etc etc. I think you get the idea... I guess the above isn't limited to just Grannys, if you have access to any banger, please, please get as many pics as you can, the more pics you get the more detailed a model can be.

The Brisca legends used to use the wheels from other cars but it causes nothing but problems as the game doesn't know the wheels even exist if the car that has them within it's file isn't in the race. Add them to the car file as you say, that'll fix it.
-
I too had the 'roz' problem, if you want to use those wheels reg you'll have to add them into the .car file, you can get around it for now by adding different wheels via the drivers.txt Brilliant model reg, it's clear to see that you've put alot of time and loving care into it, I agree with you, that a high poly model doesn't necessarily equal a good model, there's no point in wasting polys just because you can. Very well done

Have you installed any new programs in between it going wrong? What happens if you click on one of the pictures, does it open properly? Is it the same for all pictures?
-
You could also ask your isp to turn down your connection speed slightly, running it close to your lines maximum can cause intermittant problems, although 2Mb isn't that high really.

I must admit I took reg's post to be trying to help, not having a dig but thats the unfortunate thing about forums, sometimes it's hard to tell. For the finplate I give a big just a shame we haven't got the option of choosing between different finplates in game. I'm disapointed that you have the attitude that your models are fine and that you don't want to be told how to improve them, Personally I can find fault with every single one of my models and each time I make a new car or track I try to improve it, I guess everyone is different. I think uk-dirt would use your models if you fixed the small faults and changed the physics to be in line with the current classes but I get the feeling you don't really want uk-dirt to use them anyway, and yes some of the models used in the league have got faults but they were the early models as stated in my previous post, I think Freddy knocked most of them out in a fairly short period time. Anyway, I've said enough

10 out of 10 for trying Reg, I tried to help before and ended up getting abuse so I just keep quite (until now1! ) I know that sometimes it's hard to take citisism on something that you've put alot of time into, I've been there, but constructive critisism should be taken on board as it'll make things better in the future. Having said all of that I think Swindy now knows that what I said before was only to try to help but I still keep quiet just in case It's a shame the minor problems aren't fixed on some of the models as they'd be great addtions to the uk-dirt league. The models already in the league that have some of the problems mentioned were very early models, times and standards move on.

Yes, but I could really do with an experienced C++ programmer to help me.
-
Indeed I have made a Mk2 Jag, it's finished and will be released in the next uk-dirt update.
-
I can only echo what you already said....Unbelievable! This country really is in a mess.

I used to happily and regularly play online with a wireless connection......until Windows Service pack 2 was released, once I'd installed that I had major warp issues, I uninstalled SP2 and everything was fine again so it was definately SP2 that caused it, the problem is, in order to make your computer safer you really have to have SP2 installed, so I reinstalled it and stopped using wireless. I'm not sure what Microsoft did in SP2 but it messed things up for me, I'm not the only one either, I did a net search on it at the time and found loads of people with the same problems. I know that doesn't help you and you may not even be on XP but I had to get it off of my chest!

Could you not get an alpha channel to work?
-
I'm always after any good pictures of cars and car parts as they may come in handy one day, so if you could get them I'd be greatful

I originally modelled the Mk2 granny with a mk2 wheel in as I hadn't got a picture of a Mk1 wheel but I had alot of hints from the Banger boys that it should have had a Mk1 wheel, so I changed it after someone got me a picture!
