If you have the Windows XP cd you should just be able to stick it in the drive, boot up then follow the instructions.

Thanks, there's been a whole load of head scratching going on lately trying to figure out how to change vertex positions in real time.

I'd like to point out that you can get the above track along with the Arena Essex track, a few of the cars that I modelled plus the Cargo from my little website.

I agree with kendo, you need to calm down. If you can show that you've learned the knowledge to model a basic shape (you'll want to loft the shape in max btw) texture it and get it in game then I'm happy to help answer any questions you may have. I must just say that your attitude on this forum is putting me off though. That tyre barrier around the track in those pictures is going to be tricky to get looking right.

My thoughts exactly.

I uploaded it to the wrong place, MC moved it but I guess he didn't change the link from the site, you can get it via the link in the Bangers part of the forum though.

You guys are making my models look superb with these cracking skins and renders, makes me feel all proud! Thanks

It's only fairly recently that the guys over at ModSquad worked out how us modders could get the start man in our tracks, so the older tracks don't include him, if you aren't seeing him in the newer tracks, try turning your detail level up. If you are making your own track, then thats a bit more complicated?

Most tracks override the rear wheel camber.

Looks great, well done

Before service pack 2 came out for XP I used to be able to sit on my sofa and play in Jolt on a Saturday via a wireless connection to my laptop, after I installed SP2 I got exactly the sort of problem you are talking about, I never could find a fix except uninstalling SP2. I can't say for sure if thats your problem too though. Can you try yours with a wired connection?

Well that told me didn't it! A couple of points, even though every member has broadband it doesn't mean we don't still get connection problems, warp is the single most annoying, race spoiling aspect of online racing so anything that makes warp less likely such as making sure vertex damage is off is a good idea in my book. In some respects vertex damage adds realism but in others it removes it, drivers heads poking through roofs, arms through doors etc. and general unrealistic looking damage. Also, vertex damage makes no difference to suspension damage. Uk-dirt does pay attention to this forum but maybe they don't necassarily pay much attention to newbies telling them how to run the league, they've been doing it long enough to know what they are doing!
-
Of course we've known about vertex damage for years but within the uk-dirt league we've always been told to turn it off for racing online. I don't know exactly what difference it makes with todays high speed connections but until uk-dirt say otherwise we'd better keep it switched off for online racing.

Whilst I always try to help people if I can, I don't have the time to spend teaching people step by step the basics, so please learn what you can from the info that is already out there, if you get stuck and can't find any help by searching, then post on this forum and one of our modellers will help if we know the answer. Good luck with it.

For your first track that is really good, well done Things can only get better from here as you will have learnt so much doing this one, as you probably now know, making tracks is as much about making textures as it is about 3d modelling, a bit more time spent on the textures would see quite a big improvement in the visual impression. As always, if you need any help or pointers just ask.

Delete the whole Hasbro Interactive directory, install nascar heat and make sure that works 1st, then install the banger mod again, not sure what else to suggest.
-
Make double sure that you have installed all of the updates in the correct order.
-
With so many people getting this I can't help feeling left out! You need to check if it only happens when you race online.

It could be something looking for updates, Windows, Anti-virus etc. does it do it after a set amount of time?
