  1. Glad you sorted it but could you explain what you did so that anyone else that has the same problem knows how to fix it, cheers
  2. If you haven't already got it, there should be another 'end' at the very bottom of the drivers.txt as I've added in bold above. When you start up the game and select Single race your entry should be in the drivers list, if it isn't, are you getting a list of Nascar drivers?
  3. I assume you moved the .tex file into your ukdirtbangers folder? Post up your drivers.txt so we can check it for any mistakes.
  4. Many years ago a mate of mine made a go-cart powered by starter motors, you might be better off getting hold of a different motor if you can as we found starter motors aren't meant for continuous running and so they kept burning out. You look as though you have some good practical skills, good luck with it all.
  5. I'm hoping to get a few vans to go with FBF's super Transit, so I'd be greatful for any van stuff you could send me, thanks. Does anybody else with experience fancy modelling a van or two?
  6. I'll 2nd that, good luck BWS
  7. and I'll have a chicken sandwich, cheers
  8. Nice!
  9. I personally don't have details turned right up on the pc that I race on, I only noticed it as I tested your car on my laptop where I do all my modelling stuff, it has details turned right up for when I'm modelling tracks. Do you use Zmodeler Swindy or what do you use for exporting the .mod files?
  10. The two people that have made comments on here, me and Rodder (they weren't nasty comments either) know only too well how much time goes into making these models, I can only speak for myself but I guess Rodder was doing the same, when I say that I'm just trying to help, I hate to see these great models not get used in the uk-dirt league because of easy to fix faults, we all had to start somewhere, most of what I learn't was from trial and error and from people telling me where I was going wrong, sometimes it can be hard to take the critisism when you've spent hours on something but in the long run, you will learn from it and your next model will be even better. I'm more than willing to help people whenever I can, I've had a few people ask about LOD's and damage modelling lately so I've sat down and taken the time to add it to my tutorial for these people, I hope it will help them. Please don't take the critisism hard Swindy and if you need any help with modelling or you have questions about some aspects that you don't understand, don't be afraid to ask, post on the forum here, we have quite a few great modellers around the forums now, one of us will do our best to help. Keep up the good work
  11. As far as I know uk-dirt hasn't even been offered these cars so you'd be better off asking on the other leagues forums.
  12. It's a good model Swindy, well done. I have a slight problem, maybe it's just me but if I run my game with the detail settings on max it's really shiney, I've never seen this before so I don't know whats going on. [attachmentid=14513] A couple of things to note, one being that it is very high poly and two being it really needs better lod's. I wrote a brief explanation of lod's on my website earlier tonight. The reason we try to stick to certain poly limits and we try to make good lod's is so that people don't have to have good spec pc's to play our game. Apart from that, I like it, great job
  13. It looks like Arena's days are definately numbered, the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation is a government agency that has the power to obtain the land with or without the owners permission via a Compulsory Purchase Order, if it was a football stadium I bet they wouldn't issue a CPO as there would be uproar. Why do we, the short oval racing comunity always get treated like this!
  14. Ok I take the hint, It's basically done, I just need to do a couple of lod's, I really should get my finger out and finish it, I got so many things on the go lol

    FLAG MAN

Here you go, keep this one somewhere safe and keep copying it into your new tracks. Open it with wordpad and alter these numbers "flagman starter -37.800000 1.293143 3.028724" to place the man where you want him in your track. track.zip
  16. I think you'd have to convert them to editable mesh's 1st, then you can attach them. It's looking really good so far but as Rikard said, if it's for heat you'll need to watch the poly limit.
  17. My head is full to the brim with ideas like this but trying to get things into working code is another thing... is definitely how I feel regularly
  18. If possible square on and angled would be best. I'd appreciate it if you could gets lots of pics before it shuts This is why we need to start collecting pictures now, before it's too late. I'll PM you. If you have the opportunity please take as many pictures as you can.
  19. As pretty much all of our tracks always have the threat of closure hanging over them I thought now would be a good time to start collecting as many pictures of each track as we can (even if the track has been modelled recently) so that in the future we can relive our fond memories on increasingly detailed virtual versions. I'm looking for pictures of everything from the grass or mud under your feet, to the dustbins, to the food wagons, to the fence, to the trackshop, to the trees on the horizon, basically if you can see it, take a picture of it! that includes the pit area too. In future games we may be able to climb out of our broken cars and wander around the trackshop, buy one of those air horns and honk it at your favourite driver as he races past! So if you have a camera, please start snapping away, zip the pictures up and either post them on here or send them to me because once the track has gone, it'll be too late.
  20. I'm sure it's inevitable that Arena will close in the near future as the land is now worth so much money. Sure will be a shame though, now if I could just win the lottery
  21. I hate you! only joking of course, very well done, spot on Roland doesn't ring any bells.

    Tracks

I never was a very good listener.

    Tracks

Thanks both of you, maybe if you can just help me with this bit I'll get it finished quicker... I have the contact point of a collision in world coordinates, I need to convert that into local coordinates to the car so that I can then iterate through the vertex buffer to find which verts are closest to the collision in order to move them, now I know that I have to somehow get the full transform matrix of the car then times the inverse of that by the world position and that should give me the position locally, is that right?
  24. I'd be mighty surprised if anyone can get this one, the track only lasted a couple of years! I'll give a couple of clues... It's about half an hours drive from me. It was created and run by a banger team conveniently situated behind a pub! [attachmentid=14209]
  25. Paste the drivers txt entry so we can take a look at that.
