Cheers Lakey, no worries about hijacking the thread, I love hearing these old stories, I only started watching at Arena in 92 I think it was, I have loads and loads of fond memories from then, hence the reason for this thread, I'd like to re-live them on video if I can.

Make sure your skin (the .tex file) is in the ukdirtbanger folder, make sure that the number in your drivers.txt entry matches the number that you used in your .tex There a several things that could be causing it but check those 1st.

I'm a big fan of the little Datsun's and always planned on moddeling one of these myself but now you've saved me the time and effort, thanks and well done

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the 'hardcore effect'?

It's actually quite worrying just how widespread this is, as I said, I don't blame the immigrants for wanting to make a better life for themselves but this government has let us down big time, they should have been on top of this years ago, I guess in the long term it'll lead to more unemployment as there simply aren't enough jobs to go around. AndyH hit the nail on the head, the real problem is that the immigrants are taking away the overtime and the jobs that people like me rely on to pay the mortgage on our over priced house. We simply can't afford to live on the wages that the immigrants can when they are sharing houses.

Hednesford National teams '95 & '96 Arena 3 litre open '95 All of the Firecrakers '96 London open I can't remember the date but the Squad Northampton invasion with the Bambi follow-in, is a good one.

I have a fairly good selection of Banger videos/DVD's from the 90's but I'm always on the look out for more, are there any that you'd highly recomend? They could be single meeting, season compilations, just crashes, or even a domestic meeting that features a big memorable crash.

I haven't read the linked forum and I'm not racist but what really really bugs me is when forieners (for want of a better word) come to live in our country, then proceed to moan about and try to change our lifestyles, customs, rules, etc. I like the fact that we welcome imigrants but there needs to be limits and they should not try to change our country to suit them. The whole racism issue, such as that on big brother, always gets blown out of all proportion by our media (who have a lot to answer for) it's also very one sided, tbh it bores me, I was always taught 'sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me', call me what you like, I won't even be bovered! The influx of imigrants is something thats talked about a lot where I live lately as we've had a lot of, mainly Polish people coming here recently, the problem is they are living with around 10 men to a house and working for much less money than those of us with families can afford to, I don't blame the imigrants, the cost of living in this country is way too high. I'll leave it at that for now, get off my soap box and go join the BNP......not! I'm interested to hear other peoples views from different parts of the country though.

I really haven't got the time or bandwidth to send my whole folder, there's no point anyway, you have all the files you need, if you haven't got a drivers.txt file in your ukdirtbanger folder then you haven't selected the skinpack properly with the car manager.

It's been many years since I installed all this stuff and I've never used essentials so I'm a bit confused as to whats going on here, have you got a 'drivers.txt' file in your ukdirtbanger folder? if you have post up it's contents.

How are you launching the Banger mod, from an icon on your desktop?

Make sure you have followed the instructions on the uk-dirt website exactly Install the team skinpack, use the car manager to select the team skinpack then all should be ok.

The busier sections of the forum, such as the skinpainting section have been slow for me for months, just lately it does appear to be alot worse though with the whole forum being very slow, even now at 6.30am it took me a good 3 mins to get into the Banger section.

Have you downloaded and installed any skin packs?

To me that goes against the spirit of Banger racing, I'm sure most drivers go home just as happy with a 1 lap wreck (specially if it's a big one) as they do with a car thats lasted a whole meeting, afterall if they didn't like the crashing they wouldn't be racing.

I only have psp6 so this may work differently to your versions, if my instructions don't work use them in conjunction with this tutorial. Make a new layer that is completely white except for where the windows are, the window areas should be a dark grey (you will need to experiment with the shade of grey). With the selection tool select the window areas. In the 'Selections' menu click 'Save to Alpha channel' In the next window, select 'new channel' then type the name as alpha. You must save the tga as 32bit not 24. Then when you convert the tga to a .tex you need to use the /a extension ie: mktex catchfence.tga catchfence.tex /a If everything has gone according to plan the windows should be see through in game. Let me know if you have any problems.
