Hello Peppi, Sorry to hear you had a bad experience here. I am not sure that I can talk about F2's much, although I am racing tonight and have really enjoyed the tarmac meetings, but I do feel qualifed to talk about F1s. I think you need to give it another try. You raced your 1 F1 meeting at the British Championship. That meeting is always on the knife-edge due to the fact that literally every result on the night counts towards the final grid. They other thing that I dont think will have helped you is that if I remember on the night, there were about 4 novice cars. When your racing, in the heat of the moment, al novice cars look the same, so if one has given you a bad night, then you tend to make sure you get rid of them all, as in that split second, they look the same. So basically, I would urge you to give it another go. There have been no novice skins in recent weeks, so therefore it would be probably be just you and thus we will know exactly who you are. We can also then see the way you drive and see what kind of driver you are. I know it seems harsh to say that, but in a race you dont have time to try and work out who the novice car is, where as when you have your own skin, you know exactly who they are and thus how you need to deal with them. Come and race with me - I am very soft and hardly hit anything (although the current gold top may think differently but he beats me all the time anyway ) Just thought I would help out a little more before I go racing and put up the current National Points Shootout Scores on. I have tweaked my score Spike as I did not take the handicap so scored 2 points less. Front Murf (109) FastTrack (132) Johno (139) Dazza (144) Mike (183) TomD (193) Back Cheers Johno

Hello All, This week sees the mighty F1's do battle at the superb Birmingham raceway for the 2010 Grand National Championship. Birmingham is a favourite of many many drivers as the wide corners help to produce some of the most fantastic racing. Back in the earluy meetings of the year, Birmingham was the first track to have a 40 car meeting on the Rfactor platform. This week's meeting sees drivers race in many different championships, with the most improtant of the night being the 2010 Grand National Championship. That said, the other two championships that are up for grabs are no small titles, its just they will not see winner being crowned on the night. The other championships are the National Points Shootout, which appears to have a two way battle for the silver roof, with Mike (315) closing the gap on defending champion TomD (1) this past week at Kings Lynn, and the Thursday night Thunder series, which again sees Tom and Mike at the top, but perhaps more importantly, there is a 'Top Triers' award which will no doubt entice all of those al important lower grade drivers. Onto the Grand National Championship race itself, and as is always the case, the grid has a very mixed feel about it (The grid is subject to confirmation from Kev). The grid as I have calculated it is as follows: ROW 1 : 112 - 3 ROW 2 : 391 - 262 ROW 3 : 527 - 561 ROW 4 : 221 - 315 ROW 5 : 8 - 39 ROW 6 : 290 - 172 ROW 7 : 31 - 17 ROW 8 : 137 - 365 ROW 9 : 164 - 363 ROW 10 : 515 - 107 ROW 11 : 531 - 399 Reserves: 236 413 484 16 488 516 553 300 136 87 Lookin at the grid, the favourite for the race must be World Champion TomD (1). Just over a week ago at Buxton, the same front row was in place and Tom got a superb start making a flag to flag victory look very easy. Hopefully, lessons have been learnt by myself (Johno 3) and I will look to challenge himin the early laps. One of the favourite parts of the Grand National Championship grid is the variety that you get. On the second row, we have two blue grade drivers who both have different skills. Corny (391) is what I would call a 'real racer' who thinks about his racing and calculates every move. He has the pace to threaten the two on the front row, he just needs to make sure he has a good start. Harman (262) has got better and better as the year has gone on. Inititally causing a few proiblems for other drivers, he seems to have reigned himself in a little bit and is picking up good results in the process. Back to superstars for row 3 and they come in the form of FastTrack (527) and Murf (561). Both drivers are good on the tarmac but would probably refer the shale. If they can get a good start, they wil be able to challenge for the victory. Row 4 then sees a blue top and a superstar. Spike (221) has come on leaps and bounds this season and a blue roof is just a small part of what he deserves for the effort he has put in. Mike(315) is well in the race for the silver roof and will be looking to try and get to Tom as soon as possible. Both drivers will need to use their bumper in the early stages, something that Spike is more than capable of doing! I will not go through all of the drivers on the grid, as the grid is likely to change, but it is interesting to notice some of the other drivers that are on the grid. Dazza (290), MoR (137), Tosh (8) and LeeK (39) will be interesting to watch from the middle and back of the grid. All these drivers are more than capable of winning races but they will have their work cut out in the early stages to find their way to the front. At the other end of the scale, it is superb to see the likes of Big Al (515), Skeet (31), Travel (365) and Jarry (164) qualify on the grid. These lower grade drivers have been racing in the F1 lague for a long time and I hope that some, of not all of them will be able to take their place on the grid come Thursday. I will need to wait and speak to Kev on some of the technicallities, so for now I will leave it there. After a few weeks of lower car turn outs, it would be great to see drivers all get together around the superb Birmingham oval for another great night of F1 action. I know a few things have gone off away from the online race track, but it would be great to be able to see as many drivers as possible at one of the biggest meetings (at the end of the season). There are plenty of races on the night (with each driver getting a minimum of 6) so there is no reason not to get your name on the board. Cheers Johno

Thanks to Spike and Corny for the meeting tonight. There may not have been many cars at all, but the racing was simply out of this world tonight. Good fair battles all the way around the track which produced some sensational racing. It is of course easier to say after winning the final, but the racing in all races was hard but fair. Superb night guys - well done to all involved!!! Cheers Johno

First of all, thanks to Kev for running the meeting. Well done to LeeK for taking the final victory and to TomD for top scoring. I would also like to apologise for leaving early. It is not like me, but a combination of the worst week of my life career wise, being on a track I hate so much, and then feeling hard by in the races meant that by the time I was spun out in the Grand National, I had just had enough. So apologies for leaving early guys and taking another car off the track. At the time, I thought the racing was bad, with lots of wall riding. It was there, but no where near as bad as I thought it was. But I am ashamed that I started to think that I could stoop to that level when fired in to gain a few places. Onto the shootout, and last years Shootout turned on 1 meeting (round 3 at Knockhill). This year's round 3 sees Tom have another good meeting and perhaps take a small element of control into the final rounds. With Dazza stating that he is now out of the running due to other commitments (which is a real shame), it looks likethere is only Mike to take up the running. Personally, I really fancied a crack at the Shootout, but I knew I had to be somewhere near by the time I Buxton and Scunthorpe were out of the way (my two worst tracks). Unfortunately, I am no where near, and not putting in the practise that you need (due to school commitments) coupled with the fact I am no where as consistent as the top drivers sees me out of the race. 60 points is a little too much to carry. So it looks like I need a new target: try not to finish last in the shootout See you all next week where I would hope the attendance is greatly imrpoved. We start on that road to gold again where this year we are looking to dethrone TomD! So get yourself booked in for those all important World Championship Qualifying Points. You make think it is only a few rounds, but it helps bump you up the chart. It did wonders for DanSkin above (but I wont bring in the semi final....). Cheers Johno

First of all, thanks to Kev for running the meeting and to Spike for race managing. I know I joke about it, but well done to Jarry for taking the meeting final. Always good to see you going well sir Well doe to MoR for top scoring too. I thought the racing tonight was very good. At times it was very hard, especially between the shootout drivers, but I feel that is to be expected when we are racing for the silver roof. No one really broke away at the top and although Murf slipped behind, he is far from out of it. Personally, I was a better night for me than I was expecting. Was not expecting anything really from the first 3 tracks in the shootout, as I dont like them, but in the eleventh hour I changed my set up to last week's and it worked a treat. I wasn;t as fast as I had been in practise, but I could run decent laps consistently and look after tyres at the same time. Even with damage I found that I looked after tyres well so I was very pleased. Thanks once again, and see you all again next week. I might be a little more stressed next week by the time I get away from another school event!!! Cheers Johno

Thanks very much for the meeting Kev and the Admin Team - you hve dne a superb job as always. Well done to Dazza on taking a fine win in the British Championship. As he says above, it goes someway to replacing his gold roof. Personally, I really enjoyed the meeting. I could never get a god sat on the night and this was to prove costly in the heats and the final itself. Also, as is always the case for me, I was perhaps not as agressive as I should be. That said, after a poor start, I was pleased with a 5th place finish after the early laps. Shootout time next week, and I am going to have to pick up my game 100% if I am going to stand any chance of being in with a shout. Both Tom and Dazza appear to be on top of their games. Again, that said, I am looking forward to the challenge. Cheers Johno

No other wayto describe that other than EPIC! EPIC production. All of the videos I have ever seen, both here and at Simstox have been good, but that race was very easy to follow without needing any captions what so ever. Absolutely awesome. EPIC World Final. Battles at the start including between 5-15 people every bend. The tension in the middle as the leader loses his gap one way or another, and then the superb tension in the last few laps, as Mike and Tom knock ten bells out of each other with JK hoping to pick up the pieces. If that is not the best World Final ever - then the race that beats it must be out of this World. As I said - epic world final and epic production from MoR. Everything about Thursday was simply sensational1 Well done to everyone involved! Cheers Johno

Thanks very much to Kev for running the meeting, and to everyone that raced over the two days. I thought the two days ofracing were absolutely fantastic (excusing the fact I only picked up 5 points over the two days!). The World Final has to godown as the best yet, or certainly the best World Final that I have ever been in. Nothing controversial what so ever, and a truely epic race where you never knew who wold take the flag - and I am talking metres before the the finishing line too! Well done to all of the winners of the weekend. Tom on a World Final driver to remember (and also becoming the first two time World Champion) and Spike and Skeet for taking the Grand Final wins over the weekend. Cheers Johno

Just to clarify, we did indeed make a mistake with the grid last week, and for that we can only apologise. It became obvious that we had made a mistake at the end of the second race when the front row just drove off into the distance. This was not the aim of the series and it was picked up on and changed accordingly. This series is about adding something extra to the meeting and about fun (as requested by the members). If we did not have a points and thus a series, people would not stay for it. Changes are made if we feel it benefits the racing (like having the series in the first place). Sometimes rules have to change too improve the racing (2004 F1 Jubilee Series started off with a similiar format and reverted back after two meetings as it was deemed best for the racing). Again, I can only apologise for the mistake I made in the first week. The below quote is taken rom the write up about the Thunder Series. I will attach a link shortly to the full thread but need to post this first. Thursday Night Thunder Information: http://www.ukdirtforum.com/index.php?showtopic=34875 EDIT: Reworded the top paragraph

Thanks to Kev for running the meeting. Superbly run as always. Well done to Skeet on taking the final win and finsihing top points scorer. You have certainly improved meeting on meeting. I have to disagree with Drumbstick on the racing tonight. I think it was hard fought (with no inch given what so ever) but I dont think there as anything that I saw that was OTT. Perhaps got a little more adventurous in the last two races and this is something that we need to monitir with the Thursday Night Thunder Series. That said, there will be a Pre-race driver's briefing (always wanted to slip that in - we really are following real life now!) before the World Final. I will be reminding drivers about the use of the infield and rejoining the track. I think I have done this for thelast two years. I will also remind drivers that the Disciplinary Team watch all championships races, with the World Final probably being the most watched race. Anything that we deem as unfair will be punished, whether you come 1st or 10th in the big race. Anyway, thanks again for tonight, and I look forward o the big race tomorrow night. It has all the makings of a classic - last year's British Championship Race was, and I think this year's World Final could be as well. Cheers Johno

With Wednesday's meeting out of the way and not wanting to ruin tomorrow with a brief thank you speech, I would just like to thank the Admin Team for their kind words in the programme. Of course I did know about it before it was released, but only 10 minutes before. My role is usually just to collect articles and put them in some kind of order and when I chucked it over to Kev to be proof-read, he sneaked it in the back and changed the contents!! There was also sneaky Jarry who claimed he needed a template for soemthing to do with a poster. Thinking back, I knew I shoud of spealt a rat as you sent me the posters a different way! Anyway, thank you very much for the kind words. The Admin Team do make me look good 99% of the time. The 1% is when I makemyself look bad And I would like to thank everyone who has raced. I generally think we dont have a bad a bunch of guys that race UK Dirt - at times we fall out, but we sort it in the end!! Anyway, thanks to everyone, and after tomorrow, I will disappear quietly (stop thanking the lord Jarry) and become revert back to racing only! Cheers Johno

Hello Guys, I did not know where to put this so I put it in here. wanted to put this down on the bottom forums so those that are not racing in the F1 league can at least have a look at it. This is the programme that the UK Dirt F1 Admin Team have created to celebrate the fact that the F1's will have their World Final next Thursday. Not only that but there is a meeting on the Wednesday night at Coventry which will include the Consolation Semi Final and the new F1 Thursday Night Thunder Series. Anyway, take a look at the programme and if ou fancy racing in the double header, then get in touch with me via PM. Please note that it takes a little while to download and it look as if nothing is happening, but it is! Cheers Johno *****CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD*****
