Hello All, As this week is the first ever F1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DOULE HEADER, it means that people will need to book in different ways. To race on WEDNESDAY (Consolation Semi Final Night) Book in on the UK Dirt Website. To race on THURSDAY (World Championship Night) Book in on this thread. In order to make sure there is no confusion, I will keep the list up to date as often as I can with bookings for BOTH WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY on the thread below. I will also update the World Final grid with the drivers that have booked in. I do hope that you will take the time to come and join us for what should be an epic meeting. Cheers Johno OTHER WORLD FINAL THREADS OF INTEREST Full meeting details can be found in the meeting programme: HERE To find information about adding skin to the World Final Skinpack: HERE The skinpack deadline is 8pm on Tuesday night. Hello All, The UK Dirt F1 Admin Team proudly presents this year’s World Final Programme. We have released it this early as there is an awful lot to get through, so we felt you might need a week! Thanks must go to the Admin Team for all their hard work. It really is another superb team effort, so well done to everyone involved. Extra thanks go to those people outside of the Team for chipping in (Skeet, Garry and although he doesn’t know it, Tosh). Cheers Johno 2010F1WorldFinalProg.pdf

*****CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD***** Hello All, I am pleased to announce that MoR has very kindly turned the Coventry race track into a ‘World Final Venue’. The UK Dirt F1 Admin Team would like to thank MoR for taking the time to adjust the track, although we accept no responsibility when it comes to the signs being held by the crowd – all MoR’s fault! There have been no changes at all made to the actual track, and you normal default Coventry set up will appear in your garage. Nothing needs to be deleted. Just install on top of the previous one. This track will only be used for the World Final Double Header which will be held this coming Wednesday and Thursday (8th/9th September). Cheers Johno

Hello All, Superb Poster once again Walker. I thought I best ellabortate on the Championship a little bit more. The format - Long Track Championship (25 laps) - Two Heats for each driver - Final - Grand National The Track Limit The track limit for the Long Version of Baarlo is set at 30. This means should we get 30 drivers booked in, then we will run with 30 in a race. This would be a superb race I am sure you all agree!! The Long Track Championship - The Long Track Championship race will consist of the top 30 available drivers from the National Points chart. - The grid will be closed grid in National Points scoring order, highest at the front. - The race will run over 25 laps with a normal rolling start, and is non point scoring. Start Procedure Due to the nature of the track, the start procedure will be changed. Full details will be given in the MI and in the pre-race chat meeting. Grades The new grades come into effect this week. Defending Champion I (Johno) will be the defending champion. It is unlikely that Michael (who finished second) will be racing but TomD (who finished third) is already booked in. Dutch contenders Mike (315) will end up the Dutch challenge this year, as he is already booked in and guaranteed a place on the front two rows. Should the European Champion JK (16) book in, then he will also be one to watch. New dutch sensational Lars (553) is currently booked in to race and he will also start this meeting at red for the first time. He will be towards the back of the grid so should be one to watch trying to battle his way through the pack. Last Year Last year, 20 cars took the the track for what was a sensational meeting. Sme people struggled with the gear change at the start of the race, but once they got that started, it was fantastic seeing 20 cars shooting down the main straight. It was good to see the likes of Drumbstick (41), Hooty (256) and Madcowie (323) take to the track, as well at dutch lower grade drivers Bumpy (15) and Harold (599). It would be great to see some of those drivers out racing again on what should be a superb night of racing. Cheers Johno

First of all, thanks to Tom and Drumbstick for running the meeting. Well done to Drumbstick on taking the title. Have not watched the replay yet but I assume it was a very good race up front. Personally, I had a very enjoyable night. Did not practise very much which meant I was always adjusting things throughout the meeting, and I did get faster, but no doubt my best race came at the start of the night where I took a nice win, avoiding all of the carnage. Having said that, the Grand National was a fantastic race between Dave, LeeK and myself. Unfortunately when I went for the hit on Dave I spun myself out, but never the less it was superb racing between the three of us. That said, I enjoyed the final too, although again I went for the hit on Sub and got it all wrong!! Clearly I pretty much enjoyed every race Like Tom mentioned, despite the tyres playing a major part here, the racing was very good with people giving plenty of respect throughout the racing. Well done to all involved. Cheers Johno

No problems at all Skeet. We always try to listen to what the members want and try to incorporate their ideas where possible, especially if we feel they benefit the league. I will pin this at the top of the forum so people can use this. I can confirm though we are looking into doing something between now and the end of the season. Cheers Johno

Yep - thank you Johno

Keep them coming guys - it is always good to hear your thoughts whether you are in the world final or not. Cheers Johno

Fair point Aub, the meetings are over very quickly, especially over the last couple of months. Believe it or not, suggestions are already being made for the 2011 season and pretty much everything that you have suggested (apart from the reds/superstars race - but we can add this to the list) has already been suggested in that post. As an Admin Team, we have always tried to listen to the members and if we feel it will benefit the league, then we will look into it, and they are being looked into for next season. As for this season, we will not be making any changes to the meeting format as it then effects points and what not. I would add to that is traditionally July and August are quieter months (after the qualifiers and the wait for the World Final). Whilst the European was a little lower than expected, both Semi Final meetings had improved attendances and plus more races and therefore more time. Over the coming months, I would expect numbers to increase further. We have the World Championship double header to come, with the Wednesday night seeing an extra race on the card (Consolation Semi Final). We have also asked another league if they would be interested in taking part on both nights of the double header to try and spice things up, and thus far they have not got back to us with an answer. Add to that we have the British Championship, Tarmac masters, Grand National Championship, World of Shale, the possible return of a couple of qualifying rounds as well as the National Points Shootout, all at meetings which will include a different format or an extra race, and things will hopefully be looking up a little. The start of September is an exciting time for most leagues - what it needs is for people to come to theparty so to speak. If you think I can try and persuade anyone, or think of ways to persuade people, then please feel free to make suggestions. Can I also add that we are more than willing to put up the server at the end of the meeting. One of the most exciting things about racing 3-5 years ago was the fact that a lot of drivers stayed in the server at the end of the meeting for some 'afters'. Now Corny and Spike JNR are usually in the server after a meeting, and if there was interest, I would be quite happy to sit int he server and sort it out. If people wanted, we could put on there a selection of tracks, set the server to 10 laps say and have some races. Is this something that people would be interested in? Again, like Aub says, it would be a very good time to help the newer drivers, but it would need a good handful of drivers to take part. Anyway, I hope that tells you a little bit about the end of the season. Please feel free to make further suggestions as you think of them, but I can assure you that the suggestions that you have made are already being discussed. There are things that we can do in the here and now (like the above paragraph) and things that we can do in the future (like Aubs suggestion). As for the thing that Dode points out with the back wheel, it is a tricky one. We can't exactly ban drivers for hitting on the back wheel. On hale, I think you have to expect it a little bit due to the fact that you drive with the backend out. It is fair to say that in order to be quick, you need the back end out a little on tarmac too. All we can do is appeal to drivers to think about how they are racing. That said, in fairness, there have been very few what Iwould class as poor meetings this season, and people generally have been quite happy. But again, it still requires drivers to think for themselves a little bit. I hope that helps answer your queries a little bit? Shoudl you come up ith any further ideas, or anyone else come up with some ideas, then please feel free to post them. I can always add them to the thread on the Admin Forum about next year. Cheers Johno

Not very computer minded I am afraid. I hope someone can help you soon sir, as that sounds like a serious problem. Johno

First of all, thanks to James for running the meeting. Well done to Lars on winning the meeting final and Fordy for top scoring. I started the meeting off yellow as told to do so at the start of the meeting by the race manager. I knew I was quick, but I didnt know how I woul get on with the mod in general. There are many quick drivers out there who dont have the race craft, and I think that last night showed how poor I was with this, as when the track was light on numbers and you could circle laps on your own, I was fine, fill the track with cars and all of a sudden you need a lot of racecraft and luck!!! Anyway, I thought the racing was superb last night, and although you maybe surrpised to read this, I enjoyed the final and dash for cash more than any race on the night. The fact you had to be looing all around you at all times made it more exciting, and how I imagine they are in real life when they have lots of cars on track. That said, I certainly had some good races and abttle in the heat, most notably a superb battle with Lee has stated above. Anyway, I should be racing next week and I expect I will not be yellow. I am also disappointed that I wont be able to race on Tuesdays because I play in a pool league and Wednesdays will be few and faw between when I get back to work. I think this mod has the potential to be absolutely fantastic!! Cheers Johno
