BFD and Lee Provisional Bookings

Hello Guys, If you would like a late booking, can you please post here. We currently have 35 drivers booked in, which is superb. Let's hope that we have a superb meeting. Bookings will close @ 7:30pm, just to give me chance to sort some grids out. Cheers Johno

Can I have last years skins in the pack please Dave. I will try and do some World Qualifiers again. Cheers Johno
-
Hello Skeet, Sorry sir, I am still not home to have a look. We will let you off sir. If you cant use your skin for whatever reason, then you may use a novice skin. When you have put it onto the 'noivce template' that MoR refers to, send it to Mike to put in the pack. I believe he has got a few skins so we will probably do a pack sooner rather than later. Cheers Johno

Hello Skeet, I am afraid I dont have Rfactor installed on my lap top and I am staying at a relatives. I can check when I get home on Thursday, but I would imagine that someone will reply to help you. If it doesnt have the option to turn it off, I can assure you we wont ban you sir ........... unless you start winning too much and then we will make you start with the guys with the flashing lights as you have them on!! Cheers Johno

First of all, thanks very much to Mike for running the meeting, and to Kevin for stewarding the races. I was in practice on Wednesday, and the booking list had only 12 names on it. I feared the worst. Having to stay at school, I had a quick look on the internet about tea time, and saw there were 25 booked in and I thought superb. To then get home and find that there were 30 cars there was fantastic. Thanks very much to everyone that raced last night. I felt the racing was very good last night. Drivers in the main respected each other, and the racing was fair and clean. Lets hope it sets the scene for a fantastic season. Personally, I had a avaerage start to the year. First heat was poor, had no practice, but the second heat I got some breaks and had a good third, following Robin home. Come the final, I once again got a good break, after some indifferent driving from JK as alluded to above, but did not have a pace to turn a top 10 into a top 5. Once again followed Robin home for 7th. Grand National came, and I started like a bull in a china shop, but unfortunately, the good luck I had earlier was to come and bite me on the behind, as Lee tapped me just enough to clip the back edge of a car and send me out of control. Cars continued to push and round went. So some ups and down, but not the worlds worst start anyway!! Cheers Johno P.S Good to see people leaving thoughts about the meeting too - keep them coming!

SCUNTHORPE STATS Total Number of Meetings: 4 Total Number of Rfactor Meetings: 2 Total Number of Races: 36 Total Number of Rfactor Races: 9 Fastest Rfactor Lap: 13.283 (Dazza #1) Driver with Most Final Wins at Track: Rebel, Trance, Madcowie, JimmyMuk (1 Final each) Driver with Most Final Wins at Track: Madcowie, JimmyMuk (1 Final each) Driver with Most Wins at Track: Rebel (4 wins) Driver with Most RFactor Wins at Track: JimmyMuk (2 wins) Well, we are about 24 hours away from the first meeting of the new season, and as it stands the booking list has just 12 bookings. It is no doubt good to see some fresh faces in the league, with the likes of Hutchy (95) and JarHarm looking to make their debuts in the league. Hutchy will be starting from the white grade and JarHarm will start from yellow having had experience in DBL and GB Sim racing. Looking towards the back of the grid, and it is good to see British and UK Open Champion Mike (315) booked in. Mike just missed out on qualifying for the National Series Shootout last season, and will be looking to try and get a good start to the season to help him in his quest to qualify. He will be chased by Johno (3) and Walker (363). I think it is fair to say that most people were surprised that these drivers qualified for the Shootout. Both drivers will once again be aiming to qualify for the race for the silver roof, but it will be hard going in the early stages. They are currently joined by a mass of yellow grade drivers. Fasttrack (527) had a superb Winter Series, pushing TomD all the way to the point title. He will be looking to continue his fine form and rack up early season points. His is joined by two experienced campaigners, if they will allow me to call them that!! Both Spike (221) and Jarry (164) are UK Dirt veterans, and in both cases, there were signs of improvement towards the back end of the year. I would expect them to be in contention around the small track of Scunthorpe. Add to these, Munis (17) from New Zealand and Harold (599) and brothers Lew (495) and Leech (126) and you have the start of a very interesting booking list. So, 8:30pm tomorrow night, if you not doing anything, then get yourself booked in for the 2010 Season Opener.

Hello Guys, We have soemthing a little different for you this year. Back in 2007, we had the UK Dirt F1 Magazine, last year we had the UK Dirt Rfactor F1 Newsletter, and for this year, we are going to have the The F1 Dirter. The plan as it stands is to try and update it each week, on a Saturday, however it will mostly be one page. The new format makes it easier to be updated, and the UK Dirt Website will be updated weekly to give you the points charts, and Kev's site will also be updated during the season to give you the more in depth details. Anyway, when we get to issue 2, I will pin the papers at the top and then you can always look at the back dated ones as well. Cheers Johno Issue_1.pdf

Winter Series Shootout is over 25 racing laps. The defending Winter Series Points champion is Tosh. The defending Winter Series Shootout Champion is TomD.

Hello Guys, A lot of you have asked me about a start date for the new season, and I said to you that it is likely to be the second Thursday in FEBRUARY. I can confirm this is the definitely the case. The fixture list will be available on Saturday - we just have one or two minor issues to sort out. So the start date for the new season is: THURSDAY 11TH FEBRUARY @ Scunthorpe Cheers Johno

I very much agree Al - and there are also going to be occasions where people think they have been unfairly soun out due to the nature of the track. My issue is with follow ins - and this is one driver pushes the other right out to the fence whilst still in contact with the car in front. I did not see any of them tonight, but have not watched the replay. Cheers Johno

Well what an interesting night of racing.... I blame Dazza for the end as he said I was too quiet before the final!! Thanks to Mike for running the meeting, and to Murf on winning the final and being the top scorer. Onto my night first of all, and it is pretty much story of my season - did not get the breaks as and when I needed them. Scored hardly any points once again, so really not going well for me. So onto the issues: JK's jump start JK has admitted to me by PM that he was right behind the blues at the time of the green flag. He quite rightly points out that the rolling lap was not consistant, however, it is very clear that the grade gaps must be kept the same. He is not the first person to fall foul of this, as I punished fasttrack earlier in the series as well. In the suggestion thread, and on the forum, many people pointed out that the starts were poor. I made it very clear that we as an admin team were going to clamp down on the starts, and unfortunately in this case, the original winner of the final was punished. Had I have been the race manager for the evening, and thus been running the server, I would have restarted the race. But not being admin, having to leave the race, sign in as Admin and then restart the race would have meant 2 laps would have been run and people would have complained. I don't blame Mike one bit, as he was at the back of the grid and I am sure from his view it was fine. We will continue to punish drivers for jumping the start, and once we have a proper steward back, races will be restarted quickly and effectively ala Heat. Follow Ins I made a warning at the start of the meeting that if I saw a driver follow a driver in, I would load them up. For those of you that think I have just said that and done nothing, watch all of the races from my car, cab view, and then tell me if I have missed a followin. If I have, I will step forward and apologise. It is very easy to make a mistake or miss something when your racing yourself. The one incident I did see was in the Heat 1, the race I did not race in, and even then, I am not sure it would have been a followin. I was sat on Harmans car and Trav had a stab from a long way back. He missed, and later on when he came across harman again, he did not have an over the top hit on him at all, as I wondered if he would target him. He didn't, nothing needed to be said. Trav and Spike then had a hard hitting battle, but neither driver took the other one out to the fence in the clips that I seen from viewing harmans car. I wll indeed look at replays if thats what people want. I do try and relax the rules a little more, but follow ins do not belong in F1. You can do them in bangers and NZ but they do not belong in F1. Well, I wait to be shot down for being too soft, or for being too hard..... but at the end of the day, damned if you do, damned if you dont. Cheers Johno
