What no BIG AL at STOKE - What is the world coming too???? lol I was really tempted to try out Stoke tonight, after hearing of all the positive reports of the track, but sadly the timing was wrong. Maybe next time???
-
Is it too late for me to go for the Hat-trick of wins in the W&Y's? How would you rate my chances?? Be nice to get 3 on the trot
-
Congratulations Dan, another trophy for the cabinet!!! Where was Big Al, Spike & Corny After reading the preview, I thought they would feature in the main event. Well Done Evnos, that's why I liked going from white, won't accomplish anything major but to always remember you were pole for the British Championship is like winning it anyway
-
You still have to retire at least another 3 times to beat my record Southy, but you must be the closest one to it!!! Hope all works out for you career wise and with the house
-
Congratulations Matty!!!! Superb to read of your first final win, really chuffed for you
-
When Scunthorpe came out, I hated it! But last year I managed to work out how to drive the track and ended up having one of the best ever meetings there almost winning the final (Thanks Dan ) So I will be thinking about you all feathering the throttle around a tricky circuit! Good Luck
-
C'mon Big Al #515 - Really want you to take my title!!!

Well Done Jack, not an easy task running the meeting! Thanks to all the stewards. Apart from the lengthy wait for the consolation, the night ran quite smoothly. As for my evenings racing: I was surprised at how well practice went using the "Cockpit" view. Hadn't used it before, but during practice started to enjoy it, as it had a "Real Feel" to it. Practice was good, felt confident had some good battles/good tussles - all fair and above board - with various people and I was really looking forward to the meeting. Thats where it went downhill - why oh why do drivers think they can win it on the first lap or why do they have to strike back the very next bend loosing you both time?? My pet hate of the night was people deliberately tapping your back end so you spin. Several times in good positions when I had no luck at all and ended up back trying to catch up. Crossed the line three different times in reverse to finish a race!! 10th (Thx to Jnr), 11th, 11th, 8th, 9th and 13th - not a good set of finishes when I started yellow!! Real shame because practice was excellent, but the main event was such a let down. Having said that about me, the night ran well and it was good to see us all coming together for the event and in the main a good clean meeting to be had

-
If Big Al is up for it, then I am happy to be his wingman 1 - 172 Micky Randell 2 - 247 Gary Castell 3 - 263 Paul Phillips Failing any of those, then happy to take any of the remaining cars.

Thanks Corny My aim was to secure back to back wins in the W&Y series and several weeks ago it didnt seem likely that I would. But with Matty going up to blue, Ricky not finishing last week, me finishing 3rd last week, all gave me a shot at the title. BUT last week Spike won and that still gave him an outside chance of winning, only if he won Wimbledon and I failed to finish in top 10. This was a possibility as post/wire and tyres can break cars, i was concerned, even moreso when ELEVEN W&Y's turned up for the last round!! Finish 11th, Spike wins and Ricky would also then finish ahead of me, the title would be gone. I should have had the faith like others had in me, as on lap one Spike and Ricky went out together which meant I just had to finish, but Craig tried to repay an F2 UK Stockcars debt and it nearly worked After surviving that I just circulated, trying to avoid the tyres (350 laps in the 2 hours practice was worth it!!) and came home 2nd - Claiming the title for the second time As for the meeting, the heats were disasterous. I would apologise to Jack, but what he did afterwards to me wasn't necessary and negated my apology. Final and GN however changed my fortunes but just when I thought a Final win was possible, I looked in my mirror and there was TomD and DanSkin bearing down on me!!!! I did think about having a go back, but with too many laps left I thought better of it. Pleased to have finished 6th having re-passed Corny with a lap to go. Apologies that you got put out by someone after that Corny. GN again I thought - last race and I could go out with a win! but NO! lol It wasn't to be and I was left hanging on for 9th. I should have finished my meeting races last week as I won the GN, then just raced the W&Y last night and gone out of UK Dirt undefeated!!!

Having raced for 10 years, the time has come for me to finally say THANK YOU & GOODBYE! Eight years of heat and three years of rFactor, I have done and gone as far as I am going to get so its time to reflect and retire. F2 - Won an rFactor Final (from white) and progressed to blue. F1 - Won W&Y's two years running, sadly not won an rFactor Final (in season), but ended as top yellow (most likely going to blue next period). So thats my lot, and I know I am unable to improve especially going from blue. I always race to win or at least finish in the top ten, and cannot be there "Just to make the numbers up" - Thats not me. If I was any good, when I get away in races, I should be able to convert those races to wins or top three at least, but I can't. I pride myself in that I set my own cars up and drive my own way, not like some drivers who ask all the time!! Like me or hate me, I have undoubtedly had an influence on UK Dirt aswell as UK Dirt has had on me. I have in my time been F2 Admin, ran the F2 Website, been immense on the UK Dirt Forum , made many friends from 2002 to 2012 and unfortunately made some enemies too. My sincere thanks goto Corny, Dragon, Kevin, AndyH & Big Al in the main as they have been great to me during my UK Dirt career, then there are the likes of Wayne, Trav, Trash, Dode, "Sim-Stox" racers etc who have made my life difficult, but I can look back on it all now and smile/laugh and say "Thank you!!" Apologies for those I have missed out! I hope in the main that people have enjoyed racing against me, sparring on the forum with me and meeting me in person at meetings, as I have with all of you. Finally I would like to say Thank you to all the Admins and mod makers over the years as you have created something very special, the time, effort and committment is second to none and all for the love of "Stock Cars". You have been magnificent despite the actions and words of a select few who should shut up and be grateful that there are people who have given so much for their pleasure. I will leave you with two of my favorite cars, one from heat and the other rFactor.

Would that include putting Drum or Tom In??? I doubt it. Its that kind of statement that makes up my mind about not racing. What gives YOU the right to "Put them in"? Maybe they just want to race you back. As long as they don't use excessive force to fence you in return, then surely thats the makings of a "Race" between the two of you. Or do you think that as you have passed the car in front that it has no right to hit you back, as it would be holding you up from progressing to the front?? Everybody should give everybody every chance - that way respect will be earned and the racing will be "Racing" not revenge or vindictiveness or OTT. I must admit, I had to laugh at these new rules but it is whats needed to bring UKDirt F2's back into line. And thats sad to see. I commend the Admins for going this far to try and make it "enjoyable" for the masses once again. My ideal races in F2, especially on shale, have been side by side racing going into the bends (Kings Lynn and Coventry especially). There is no need for bumpers, just edge up the inside and away you go. Some of the best races to watch are drivers going wheel to wheel over several laps, but there are some who think the best races are those that have plenty of contact of which only one car comes out of it. Bumpers are there if required, to move an opponent wide for passing to take place, not for the destruction of one car on the receiving end. Hope it works for you Admin

Well Done Corny - superb in Final m8 didn't put a wheel wrong. Thats the nearest to a final I will get but to have top scorer that will do me nicely - Well Chuffed Yarmouth for W&Y's - Will be really chuffed to retain the title - fingers crossed After that - Pipe and slippers time (unless I feel confident for the Championship races) ps See what happens without the Bully Boys
-
Well Done Dan - Great Drive! Was well chuffed to win the Consolation Semi Final and thought that would set me up for the meeting. Drove well in the World Final and was pleased with my run to 19th. Every heat I was then in, I was within the top 3 by lap 14 only to be taken out and drop right down the places!! Only saviour was the B Final when followed TomD over the line in 2nd, but maybe his wall-riding may get him docked!!! GN was leading when a backmarker battle got over heated and I was drilled by 495 who was after someone else and that too ended my race. So really disappointed on a night that is supposed to be the best night of the season (Always voted as such in the awards night) to come so far yet achieve nothing!!!! Well Done to Samwit for his final win (cant help feeling that was a missed opportunity for me tho!!) and to Big Al who scored some decent points tonight and if I am right, he and Spike Jnr are now up to yellow!!
-
We shall see Matty - One more objective to secure first before I make my decision to retire 100% if F1's. F2's has already been done and have retired. Thanks Al When I hit the front in the final, I really hoped that I could get away and hold it to the flag for that elusive F1 Final win, before I pack in. If I was a bit more consistant in my lap times then I should have won my third heat and probably been higher in the Final and Gn. It wasn't to be, but pleased with my results at a track that is difficult. Lost two heats in consecutive weeks in the final laps, so I have to put that right at Skegness!!!
-
I wish you'd let me go in one of the heats Al Had trouble getting past you as you know I am clumsy!!! By that time the rest of the gang were on us!! Good racing tho Well Done Hoggy - Tried holding you up one race, and tried to follow you for another, but both didn't put you off and you were gone!! Great stuff from Evnos, some decent driving from a new driver to rFactor, has a decent career ahead of him if he carries on in that vain. I hope a certain driver has learned that you cannot win a race in the opening laps, because although he tried, he ended up out of the points yet I ended up in the points. Have apologised to LeeK via pm, the hit wasn't intended to involve others, for which I am sorry. Too late after the event I know, but I do hold my hand up to that incident. Nearly won a race, but the race was yet again one lap too long! Disappointed to have fought hard in the final, and end up 11th - I hate 11th!!!! Good meeting, not much to moan about this week, hope everyone is not too disappointed about that - Cya next week - possibly!!
-
Mav #525 Please. Please note that if practice doesn't go well then I won't risk the meeting!
-
If in doubt use the word "Moan" then that makes it official!! So last week in F2's, I won W&Y's, Both heats, Final and 13th in GN - Show me where my post with a moan is for last week?? as i moan EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I do see your point tho - I post every week to relate my evenings events to everyone and usually they don't go well for me, however I endevour to explain why I thought it wrong. If you read my posts as a "Moan" then thats your perogative, but maybe I should stop posting like so many others have done, thus making this forum boring and uninformative. I don't agree with your previous post or subsequent PM either, I was there and did see what Jnr did, and on this point we will definaitely have to agree to disagree. Enjoy these "Moans" while you can cos as they are soon to be gone.............. Can't wait I here you cry!!!!
-
Shame you didn't think that when my lad raced you and messed up - there was no need for the verbal in private chat after that race but I guess its easy to make the comment above when its not you involved! Ricky, all I said was race with your head not your bumper, if you had we both could have finished the race in decent positions - I would have probably yielded to you before the flag anyway as you were quicker. Its not a complaint, its not a vendetta, its not a fight, its a statement.
-
Here is the race - Let the masses decide!! (Best to goto the end of the race and whizz back 4 laps or so) I do think however whatever the outcome, your statement above is so wrong Lelystad_F2_20.zip

WELL DONE DAN!! I knew it wasn't going to be easy as I have struggled with tarmac this season. But after first heat, having let a small red top train go by I got a good 8th place finish. Next three races, hit an unlucky patch and was taken out unintentionally by drivers, and in turn I unintentionally took out others as I recovered. So apologies for that. Fourth heat and had a great race trying to keep Sprat behind whilst trying to catch Evnos, who drove really well for his first F2 on tarmac!! Ended up holding off drivers for a very creditable 6th place. Entering the fifth and final heat I was confident I would qualify, and after letting a few drivers through I settled into 6th place, but then came Ricky. First he took out Robin, then with three to go he decides to belt me hard mid corner - now where was his race craft at this point??? Had he not hit me but waited he could have finished 6th or 5th had I realised he was faster and let him through. But as it was, I went from 5th to last and one lap later Ricky got spun out (This was because by the time he got me out he had lost track time and the guys behind had closed up). Effectively, Ricky was down to 10th and I was out of the Golden Helmet Final, because I had a worst place and tied on 8 points. So thanks Ricky!! So overall disappointed, but likely to give next week a go, if only for the W&Y race

Not sure if I will make it, so can mine be provisional please?? Mav #641 - Yellow.
