  1. here's the quagmire known as my setups, although it contains more upsets tbh! [attachmentid=16299] Setups.zip
  2. Grannies are the obvious choice. Ranny dumped a load of setups on the banger forum ages ago, i'll bump it up for you, allsorts of stuff in there. I'll post my setup folder if i remember although its not worth much The mk3 granny is cool and the mazda929 handles well too, and isn't too common atm xTx
  3. Congratulations, you should all be settled in nicely by now, excellent choice of name by the way
  4. You could design and build a drinks dispenser... plenty of research should help Well done, thats a nice sum of cash to play with, i'm sure you'll use it to good effect
  5. Sorry to announce a change of plan, i'll be doing standlake this sunday as 2-3 mates are racing there. I'll still be in the cav tho and firestorm will be there too, so come and say hello if you're around, cheers, xTx

  7. Remember to take out the dash, and don't use the standard tank lol, i wonder where you got that advice from? Welding4motorsport is updating my fuel tank atm to take a fuel return for the injection. I'm also drilling new holes for the battery tray as it sits too low on the cage and bangs against rear seat platform. A nice plate over the sunroof and lots of brackets keeping the doors shut, 6 point harness, 6 month old helmet and noooooooo dash!
  8. I agree with you, when i'm racing i hit what its in front of me! If it's some numpty going slowly in a nissan micra then even better. I never assume i'll hurt someone, but if you're not happy getting hit hard then dont go out on track. Any racing driver in any motorsport the world over accepts they could crash and die. But If drivers want to hurt each other then they should punch it out in the pits, not on the track. However, if you know stinkbridge/bears etc are there in big jags and yanks and you've gotta bluey, racin on the basis that they'll leave you alone is very foolish. Lacky didn't even bring a saloon or estate to the wf. Well built or not he must of known the risk involved racing a feckin japanese hatchback! Complaining after (i'm not suggesting he did btw) that "he shouldn't have followed me in cos i was only in a bluey" is senseless. On that basis i'll do the wf next year in a mini and win because no one's allowed to hit me in their big jags! rant over,
  9. Why race something tiny when you're surrounded by big things?
  10. The producers are clearly following the racing, not the wrecking. Another well researched programme!
  11. I know! I feel so lucky!
  12. I'm aiming to race there june 10th in a 1.6inj booted mk3 cav, that i'm building on the drive atm. I should be racing as 742 so come and say hello if you're at the meet

Shows exactly why you'ld be a damn fool to bring a bluey to a world final. DONT DO IT. If you cant get a suitable motor then dont race!

well done mate, you're a star makin all these mega rare models for us all to race
  17. Saab is owned by gm, saab 9000 is based on cav chassis and engines on gm blocks so cav wheels and uprights should fit fine.
  18. Many promotions, including those operating under orc, now allow single point injection. Removing the dash is very easy, usually about 4 bolts and the odd bit of plastic to cut. REMOVE THE FUEL TANK! If its in front of the rear axle then its practically under you and contains an inacccesible high pressure fuel pump! Remove it, and the fuel line, extract the fuel pump and run it in the car inline with a tap that is within reach of your hand when you're strapped in the car. You'll need to run a return for the fuel injection to work. It will cost you no more than £20 for the bits, it will take max a couple of hours of your time and will stop you suffering burns. Remember saabs are based on vauxhall cavs and have lots of interchangeable parts. Poor build will end up with you getting hurt, encouraging health and safety types to clamp down on our sport. Support banger racing and build your car properly! xTx
  19. It looks great, well worth a £500 scholarship imo. Only observation is that trailer wheels look a little unsupported, as the trailer hangs from them, so a heavy weight could cause the brackets to bend resulting in the tops of the wheels moving inwards. Also the wood frame could drop from the brackets over bumps etc. Perhaps clamping the brackets around the wood or a cross member between the brackets might help. Either way, its great to see you're developing your manual skills, sadly on the decline in this country as we embrace a service culture. xTx
  20. Fantastic work everyone, you're helping keep a lot of people happy

mondeo? omega? carlton? (are any of these british?) all german/american i'm afraid. Omega's were the continental carlton, made by Germany's Opel who are owned by American General Motors. Mondeo also made on the continent (germany/spain/belgium?) by American car dinosaur Ford.
  22. or maybe it's gogs tryin to pull a quick 180 after seein kane at the other end of the beach...
  23. I've started the bidding, let war commence!
  24. As Nick describes above, if our game moves on to a virtual world format then you could do as much or as little as you like in it. If you think about Grand Theft Auto, then you could own a virtual hiab, run a virtual yard and buy scrap motors. Then like Gran Turismo and Need for Speed you could build and paint them. Then like Big Mutha Truckers, you could transport them to the track. Then like Driven to Destruction you could race and repair them. The damage engine could be similar to S.O.D and Banger Heat, allowing you to jack and snap, but then you could drag it back to the pits and Hiab it out. End of racing, load it up and drive back home, then repair it or weigh it in! The posibilities are endless, the software is all out there, just need to write it first...
