Autumn Series Round 6 - The Kr3w Raceway 25/11/07
splinter replied to splinter's topic in F1 (rFactor)
I never thought about people with no sound when I made it! I've been very short sighted there lol Yes you're right Kruiz, two things mostly which stops people racing rFactor F1's is the difficulty factor at first, and the expense of PC upgrades, graph cards and wheels which you ideally need. I also know of about 3 that say they really want to do it. Its not 'if', its 'when' so maybe one day we will hit that magic number of 40 -

Hello Racers Welcome to the Video edit of Sunday's Grand Final - Round 6 of the UKDirt rFactor Autumn Series from The Kr3w Raceway. After the mid-series break, and postponement, we finally got back to racing, and to the tricky small and tight tarmac track of The Kr3w Raceway. Even though the track is short and speeds are slower than other tracks, this is one of the hardest tracks to get right, but still provided some fantastic close racing. Sorry to the guys hardly featured who were all in the running, but the battles for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th were too good to miss this week. Round 6 - Grand Final & Highlights Vid I have uploaded the video and it should be available for download in higher quality on www.TheMagicLamp.org very shortly! Hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Chris

Has anyone got skins for Tads or Spike?

the Racing was crap tonight for me, ruined by some stupid driving. It seems some of the problems of UKDirt leagues are now now finding there way over to rFactor. It only takes one to ruin some v.good racing of the past 5 or 6 weeks. I seemed to find every bit of bad luck tonight as well Small and awkward track though to avoid spinning cars.

I can think of quite a few more historically important tracks that would have modelling priority over a go-kart track laid out with tyres

I would choose this guy, he's good at blaming other people, making excuses, not answering questions directly, and he should be out of a job shortly (that's what we wish for anyway!) and he couldnt give two hoots about England (a requirement of being an England manager or player) and 'his team' are good at losing things http://news.uk.msn.com/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=6767253

When will Motson, Wrighty, Shearer and the rest of the English pundits get it into their thick skulls that England aren't one of the top 3 footballing nations, like Kendo says, we're far from even being in the top ten. We never have had a good team from the 70's. Great players, yes, but great team?...have we fu**! I always turn it off at half time now cos I cant stand the way the go on about England, they're a complete embarrassment (the team and the BBC pundits) And as for the multi-million pound stadium...(the most expensive & best stadium in the world) they cant even fit a roof to it, so the pitch ended up resembled Macclesfield town in mid-January. McLaren deserves the sack, he played a negative formation just hoping for the required draw, Carson should never have been picked and should certainly never play for England again. He's not even much of a 1st team player so why even play him! Next England manager (good luck to him!) should use players from Division 1. Players who have passion to play for England and would be proud. Not overpaid numpties that couldnt give two shi**s about their Nation as long as thy get their £80,000 a week drive home from London in their Aston Martin's. Hopefully though, someone will have robbe their house while they were away

SCOTLAND DIES LAUGHING [attachmentid=21080] TRIBUTES are being paid to Scotland this morning after the entire country laughed itself to death. The alarm was first raised at around 10pm last night as thousands of phone calls and text messages went unanswered. Small groups of volunteers from Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Carlisle ventured north just after midnight only to find houses full of dead people gathered around still blaring television sets. By dawn, as RAF helicopters flew over deserted city streets, it was clear that the whole country had suffered a catastrophic abdominal rupture. Wayne Hayes, a special constable from Northumberland, said: "We went into one house in Dunbar and found three men sitting on the sofa with huge smiles on their faces, still holding cans of 70 shilling. They seemed to be at peace." He added: "In a house near Edinburgh we found a man face down on the living room floor with his trousers and pants round his knees. "It seems he may have been showing his bare buttocks to the television when he keeled over." Roy Hobbs, a civil engineer from Northampton, said: "I got a call from my friend Ian in Stirling at about 9.50pm. "He was already laughing when I answered the phone, but after about 25 minutes of the most vigorous and uncontrollable hilarity, everything suddenly went very quiet." Moving tributes are already being placed along the Scotland-England border with many mourners opting to leave a simple bag of chips or a deep fried bunch of flowers.

Just what I've been thinking. But 95% of people will always prefer a game to be faster and grippier than the real thing.

Yea these were posted before the latest patch, revised table below added KR3W as it seems popular and still just a rough average race lap time. Belle Vue: 13.8 Birmingham: 13.7 Ips Shale: 15.4 Ips Tarmac: 14.7 Sexberium: 13.9 KR3W 12.8 Just on a note on the realism factor, is it a concern that rFactor lap times are so much faster than real life fast laps? Real life fast lap times are: Belle Vue: 15.484 (Set by 515 Junior Wainman) Birmingham: 15.162 (Set by 391 Andrew Smith) I can't find anything for Ipswich F1's but you can see from that rFactor F1's seem to be 2 seconds quicker than the real thing? Can we slow the clock down?

I'm just getting to know my way around Realfeel now I have a wheel. Its certainly a lot better than the rFactor FFB system. I will post a couple of realfeel settings once I get to grips with the maths

I've spent a good hour practising with my new G25 at KR3W Raceway for next meeting and got 12.9 best lap (13.2 avg) Haven't got a clue if that is a good laptime, as setup is from scratch, 1st time I been at that track and also 1st time I used a wheel. What's laptimes like here? Within 10 laps around IppyT I got a 15.3 so am kinda pleased with using a wheel so far

Cool I have this on me phone now, where's the dirty version?? or is that the one with the oiled up, tanked up, topless greasy fat blokes in it

Glad you liked it. Nearly a 2 week break now while I think up some diff. ideas for the next video. PS For the trivia fans out there, the Fireworks were actually from Sunday evening. I filmed them from the Firecracker meeting at Arena with my phone as I walked through the carpark. I thought I'd put it to use. lol

As I said before, can we see if the drivers arms/moving body can be added to the in-car view, etc. I know it can be done now, as seen on other mods. It doesn't bother me so much, but when I have been doing these videos, the 1st thing people (non sim fans) say is "where's the guys hands on the wheel?" "that's daft" type of comments. I'm not criticising, but it would be fantastic to see this (along with a flag man on start/finish line!)

to be honest, all I need to keep me happy is a yearly dose of the latest Grand Theft Auto, and a decent racing sim (ie rFactor) - I guess a PS3 is a bit expensive to buy for just one game, and the occasional BlueRay film lol

I'm buying a PS3 before Christmas. Its now that time when the prices have fallen a little and become more reasonable. The sony console's have always just suited me more than the others and the same this time round. The games tend to be cheaper, there's more gubbins on the console, there ends up being more available games. Graphically the XBox's always seem awesome, but that aint the bee-all and end-all. Unfortunatly I am a Sony fan too.
