  1. LOL cheers lads, great comments. Aye an excellent day thanks, hope MC had a good'un too. I just hope missing the last Legends WCQR doesn't cost me the title.
  2. I am pleasantly surprised to have matched Mav by scoring a WCQR point, as I seem to remember thinking I came 11th in heat 1 and saying "so near and yet so far", but don't double check things please, I'll take it. In Heat 2, Earache caught me up late in the race when we were both hoping to get in the points (ie 10th) and he put the bumper in on me about 4 times in 2 or 3 laps, excellently executed for someone who debuted last week and Earache didn't even get a point for it in the end (he was 11th). The Final & GN were as hectic as ever, but the Final was certainly memorable for me hurrying Spike off to work by putting him over the fence on the pits bend. Probably the best thing about the meeting for me was having 5 white tops in it, so thanks to Spike, Mav, Earache & Kev, well done to all 4 of you, made for a very good meeting.
  3. Really sorry to hear of your pc problems Jimmy, and hope you get it sorted, but you really should not have your pc set to allow any auto-updating at all whilst you race m8 Knockhill was very difficult, it was tricky off-line but a heck of a lot trickier on-line. I had to switch to DX9 and full circuit detail as instructed (I previously had DX7 and low circuit detail) and I guess this didn't help my on-board graphics pc cope. I had to concentrate like mad just to complete laps without incident and hopefully not screwing anybody elses race. Hence I had sympathy with first-timer Earache and I am pleased to see above that he did enjoy himself despite a few problems - hope to see him back again.
  4. LOL what brought that on? I'd have put a tenner on you outscoring me so what's the big deal??? Hope you stick with it now Spike, plus Mart & Lee, great to have new guys joining in.
  5. Nice preview Kev, and well spotted that I am a dark horse as I will be the only previous Skegness Final winner on the track on Thursday! Yes that's right, I won a final at Skeggy in 2001, so I do remember the track well. It was a little bumpy in fact by DTRSC standards. Come to think of it, any chance of racing it on DTRSC on Thursday?
  6. Downloads upto 29 now and top man Drumbstick for uploading them.
  7. I enjoyed a shale meeting at last I did feel more confident and enjoyed the heats and can't remember making any major mistakes in them which was good. OK I came last but somebody has to. In the Final, I could not avoid the temptation to try to go faster which led to mistakes and with more cars on track, it makes things worse, so that was a bit of a mess although pleasingly I aren't shown as last In the GN, I knew Rev was quick and he had pole so on the first lap I could already see a bit of a gap developing so decided I needed to stop him. Unfortunately my hit was more akin to HEAT than rFactor and I spun myself, not sure what happened to Rev but I don't think he was too chuffed as he planted me in a couple of times later and I don't blame him. Part of my learning experience, it's hard to resist the odd big hit sometimes but it's something I need to do as they just don't work - well not for a rubbish white top anyway. My enthusiasm seems to be building, I am looking forward to Skeggy next week.
  8. I'm in a similar boat to you on this Mav. It will be interesting to see if I can enjoy a shale meeting or not as I have struggled badly previously with them and this will be my first for a while.
  9. It was a shame about missing the GN although I can't fault Admin for giving me extra chances. I am hoping I have that problem fixed now anyway, I had an emergency at home which meant I missed the HEAT meeting and nearly missed the rFactor one too, and I never even thought about a skinpack being released yesterday, partly because of the above and partly because there don't seem to be too many skinpack releases in rfactor. The Mav skin I was missing obviously meant Mav looked grey to me but it did not cause any problems other than that in heat 2 or the Final, hence I did not even think of it being the problem for me in the GN until after the meeting, especially as it looked like I was ok to go in a couple of the GN attempted starts, weird stuff. Sorry anyway. I did enjoy the heats and final though. All being well I am off work next Thursday afternoon so I should be able to race next week even though it's a 7.30 start. Hope Mav makes it too, it's nice to have someone who isn't too much faster than me.
  10. Sorry to hear of your sad news Splodge. My thoughts are with you m8.
  11. I didn't know you'd popped round the garage m8, hope you don't pass any secrets on about my shale special.
  12. Quite enjoyed it tonight, I think I may be a tarmac only racer in rFactor until i get some better kit eventually. I'll never win anything in these and I need to practice more but it was good stuff. Thanks to all who ran it and well done Hutch and the other winners.
  13. This should be good, I am hoping to find things a little easier on the tarmac, all the previous tar meetings I have done have been good, it's a bit easier to keep out of the way.
  14. Thanks MOR. I read the bit about deleting YOUR SKINS before proceeding and was on the point of deleting my own skins out of rFactor, I wasn't too sure what to do as I didn't think that could be right.
  15. Just a small point MOR, the Installation instructions within this pack still say about deleting various files before installing - I think this related just to the original season skinpack didn't it?
  16. You could say I found it a struggle. Only thing was I thought everyone else would too, but everybody else seemed to fire round the track like billy-oh! With using a button for throttle, I was dabbing on and off round the bends and found it very hard to be smooth. Maybe the bends at KL are so round that you can't get away without pedals. I am certainly finding tarmac a lot easier and more enjoyable to drive. The only enjoyable bit of the meeting for me was watching MOR win the Final, well deserved that man.
  17. Cracking track, MOR. I can't wait to swerve my way all over the bends tomorrow night, should be great fun.
  18. It was a very good opener, I enjoyed it. There was plenty action but virtually no carnage. Well done all.
  19. Should be good. Even my pc has got in the mood as it has suddenly decided tonight with the new skinpacks installed that it will run rFactor full screen whereas previously it crashed unless it was run as a window. It's a better experience full screen so good timing indeed.
  20. Great, I've given it Torville & Dean marks
  21. Are you talking along the lines of sticking a 5 against each rating line MOR? Soz for having to ask but I don't find the rFactor Central website very user friendly to say the least.
  22. On second thoughts, I'll keep your Open Chat idea for the next time someone lap downs out the car about to win the World Title on the last corner, that would make an interesting discussion and I guess those types of expressions and better would be flying around aplenty.
  23. Yep that is the sort of stuff you would get in such a chat!
  24. Never never had one because they are a bad idea.
  25. Open house chat debates between loads of peeps doesn't work Pedz, it will just lead to antagonism between opposing views and nothing decided, there's no way that would help in the slightest. To be honest, there aren't anything like enough opposing views being offered to make Admin feel what's been decided isn't a goer, at least to see how it goes early season.
