  2. Looks like it was a grand total of one week later.
  3. Loved it Jack Good choices of action and plenty different view points. Really liked the top 10 shown with side on car view.
  4. Cheers Jakie m8 Got a bit of setup help off a top bloke which has helped a lot
  5. It turned out a pretty good meeting for me, despite my pc doing its best to ruin it. In most of my races, I developed bad lag later on in the race. I don't get this often and it's one of the few meetings where it really affected my racing. In 2 of my heats it was virtually undriveable late on (especially heat 1, I managed to scrape home in heat 2). I am going to investigate again what might be running on my pc at the time, the graphics are already turned to minimum. I don't know if it was a server thing but didn't hear of any other complaints. So my best guess is it was my on board graphics having an off-night, although I don't remember Kings Lynn being a track I have had problems with before. Anyway, my last heat had no graphics problems and a good 5th meant I made the final. The Final went pear shaped like normal, but the Grand National was the highlight of the night when I led for about 14 and a half laps till DanSkin caught me up. By this time my graphics were teetering on the edge and were ok on the straights but threatening to go bad on the bends. Whether it affected Dan catching me I'll never know. I was hoping he might feel sorry for me and stick behind me, but there again, he is in the shootout at the moment so I guess I can't expect that (plus I want to win in my own right anyway). He tried to get under once, I closed the door but next bend he did it just right without sending me too wide, which meant I held onto 2nd despite an attempted last bender from Tom (amazed he still made 3rd after seeing him whistle past in my rearview mirror ). So I came about as close as I have to a win in rFactor - I don't think I have ever won a race on the rFactor platform (other than the famous Odsal non pointscoring B FINAL ) unless it's my bad memory from old age kicking in again. Thanks for running it so well FastTrack and Hooty .
  6. How bad am I, way down the list of reserves and I have been racing all season Oh well might still make the grid if I book in I have a better shale setup now so might do a bit better than earlier in season
  7. Ricky, if you genuinely were trying to 'race' all night on Thursday, then I agree it's time you had a rest from F1's. Hope the disciplinary team don't have too much time viewing replays to do this week, what a pain that is for them. I avoided the worst of Thursday night's 'action' but I saw enough to see why TWO people were booted from races - the first time I can ever remember that happening in UK Dirt history and not a nice landmark. Thanks to race manager Dan and race steward Hooty for taking the time and trouble to run this meeting for all our benefit. Hope there aren't going to be any other meetings where they no doubt felt it wasn't worth it.
  8. Any chance I could replace Corny please?! I forgot to book in
  9. Thanks for the mention, Mav. Maybe you really do mean it this time I hope you will fancy a spin again in the future, as you are and always have been one of the REAL CHARACTERS of UK Dirt who can't really be replaced. I remember you hated getting Muppet of the Year on a consistent basis (sorry for reminding you ) but people picked up on how much it all meant to you and loved winding you up - it was all part of the weekly entertainment that we all have enjoyed and some of the best banter has been surrounding you. After all, many of us turn up for a laugh as well as the racing. Over the years you have raised your game when you have needed to and wanted to, and the last couple of weeks proved it again as you did what you needed to win the W&Y's which you really wanted. I would have loved you to take the F1 Final that you really wanted but you have come close and maybe that might yet provide an incentive for a future return . Hopefully UK Dirt has many years ahead of it and I hope to continue to be a part of it. I'm sad you probably won't be, but I respect your decision. You will always be welcomed back by us if you change your mind.
  10. I didn't expect a great meeting as thought pc might struggle plus I would find it hard on a tight track I don't think I've raced before, but I was wrong. The pc was fine and so was the racing. Getting two top 10's in the heats and then 10th in the Final, from yellow, is good going for me. Keep at it Ricky, if I can score a few points from yellow, so can you. I do go for you quite often, partly because you are one of the few drivers who is nearly as slwo as me, but like Dode says, if you don't hit others so hard, after a while they will stop fencing you back. Top meeting running by FT and the stewards, well done all for another enjoyable meeting. Oh, and well done Mav!
  11. Yeh great to meet you too Southy - unlucky to you & your Dad with the damage and good of you to chat when you had a lot on. I also met Dan Skin & Tom for the first time, and met Trav for the first time for a few years. Top night!
  12. Good to see Stumpy get the old keyboard working again, thought it must be broke after no reply from him to all the nice things people said about him before Although sounds like not likely to return on-track I am chuffed for Dan winning the WF, noone could deserve it more for the effort he puts into UK Dirt and always has. I am surprised to read so many negative comments about the meeting, I guess I was lucky going from white (not any more though ) as I only had good racing with others all night. I got a big chunk of setup help from an old pal pre meeting which made me feel more stable coming off the bends and to get all top 10's was a real buzz. Highlight of the night had to be the Final. The last few laps Chevykiller passed me and apparently he had damage which explains why I could keep up with him so I kept nibbling back and eventually got back in front. As usual I was late realising it was the last bend and sure enough Chevy just did enough to get under me and beat me to the line, but such an enjoyable battle - thanks Chevy. Had other good battles with FastTrack, MadMatt, SpikeJnr, Aza and I'm sure others as well. Thanks for a great meeting all. Gonna have to try and practice a bit going from yellow - well done Jnr too!
  13. My eyes have just about recovered from that horrible DX7 grass & sky. I can't really race this place properly as the graphics are so bad, I'll give it a miss next year I think, unless I win the lottery and replace the pc Can just about todde round carefully solo but racing anyone else is really hard. Well done 3rd top point scorer Mav Thanks very much for the late addition, FT, at least I got the chance to give it a go

    Wow!

Great to see your name after a long while, Moz Yes we do know how lucky we are to have what we have, and that there are so many clever people (like yourself) who still come up with these great things for our entertainment. 12 years and still going strong.
  15. Good racing throughout. 3 good heats of racing where I gradually dropped through the pack, clung onto a top 10 once. Great last few laps in B Final with Tinman and his fellow cloggie. Denied me an Odsal B Final double though lol. Really enjoyed it though. I let Mad Matt go in the GN as assumed he'd mess up before long, didn't realise he'd scored a hatfull already Nice win mate.
  16. Stumpy, I can understand how annoyed you must feel if you were deliberately taken out by a lapper when you were battling at the front of a Championship race. I can assure you (although it's nowt to do with me) that that is the most serious kind of bad driving that Admin will surely clamp down hard on ie a ban for the miscreant. I have enjoyed every meeting I have had with you, you are getting better every week and again were going really well at Lelystad. I know you weren't happy with one of my manoeuvres, I don't know who was wrong or right (I haven't seen a replay) but I knew that you were so fast I knew I had to hit you good and proper or you'd be gone. Someone else commented that you turned in on me in another race - I accepted that as a racing incident, after all these are stock cars not hot rods, plus this track was challenging and it's the first time we've raced there. I hope you will take time to reassess your decision and decide you can continue to get pleasure from racing, as I would be sad to see you leave - and it's clear others would too.
  17. Not really disagreeing with you, Mav, but I think me & Aza did, but that's cause we're "not all there"
  18. What a cracking meeting. Love the Lelystad track. Great racing with the other whites, some great banter all night, and boab is a character Roll on next week
  19. Fab for me to get a top 10 in the Final, and what a race with Trav in the GN - boy that was fun. Well done Mav! But no retiring at the end of the season.
  20. Bit of a crazy night, I used to find this track ok but now I can't drive it for toffee, even beached myself on a banking all by myself once. Great to have Trav make an appearance, we had a bit of fun . Well done, Matty, great results mate.
  21. Well done 391 Corny for making the World Final from a reserve slot. Must have been a quality drive through the field (no surprise from him though).
  22. Hopefully the winter break when it comes will see you recharge your batteries, Johno, and come steaming back into my back bumper next season. Compared to me, you are still a newbie pal
