  1. I had a nightmare in my first couple of races, thought I had got dealt with harshly by a car behind in each case, but both thought it was my fault for hitting the tyre Things went better in my 3rd heat, with a thrilling couple of last laps with Jack and Lithgow. Coming off the last bend Jack had the edge coming off the fence, whilst me & Lith seemed to get our wheels in line together for a drag race to the line. I think his applying full bore made his car turn left across me a bit as we headed for the line and this just gave him the edge as we crossed it. Couldn't give Mav too easy a time of it as he was passing me for the lead in the B Final as he will be a nightmare to listen to if he ever wins one The GN was well exciting. I managed to lead for over 14 laps! Then Drumb caught me and on the last bend of lap 15, which he thought was the last lap, he pushed me wide and nipped underneath to pass. As we came down the next straight, I too made a mistake by thinking the next bend was the last corner (whereas it was the start of lap 16!), so thought I have got to have a go for glory. Watching the replay, Drumb swerved a bit, probably as he thought he had finished, just before I got to him, and unfortunately clipped the inner tyre, which meant we both slid to a halt on the bend. If he hadn't have done, there's just a chance and with a lot of luck that I might have nipped under him and maybe even won. (I can dream.) As it was, a few passed as I got going again, then I went into the REAL last bend with a car on my bumper. I feared the worst but only lost one more place, ending 6th. Still an ace result for me A good way to end the night so I finished up happy. I am sad to miss Birmingham, look forward to the week after. Well done to all the Semi final qualifiers - sadly most of my favourites went out! Well done on 4th in the Final Matty
  2. Thanks for the replies lads. As only Buxton is a problem, I will just leave things as they are, until I eventually buy a more powerful pc. The funny thing is, Buxton worked ok for me (and one or two others) until it's last update, and I am pretty sure on the previous version I had to change to DX9 setting on rFactor Config for it to work. Oh well, don't think we'll ever get completely to the bottom of that.
  3. Don't say it like that m8, you make it sound like you won't be back, which of course you will Many great memories racing you over the years since UK Dirt first started m8, but I am sure there are plenty more memories to be made yet Plus I'd really miss your terrible spelluing
  4. Thanks Johno. I guessed Dan's Reserve list was right, but worth trying it on
  5. Would appreciate clarification on this - I am above Corny on the website WC points list, but behind him in Reserves list. We are on level points so do you get precedence for doing more meetings or less? It may not be an issue as Corny hasn't booked in for Kings Lynn yet and I am away for the Birmingham meeting, but would be good to know.
  6. I enjoyed my first outing of the season. Was surprised to even score, although I guess I took advantage of others' misfortune. I am away next week. I might have raced the week after at Buxton but I know that track can't load on my pc, so you might see me the week after that at Taunton.
  7. Thanks Bristol - what you have said definitely sounds right from what I found out.
  8. Unfortunately a few years ago I bought a Dell Dimension 3100 as it seemed good value for the spec you got. What I didn't realise till after was that the graphics are onboard and it's one of the few 'modern' pc's that does not allow a separate Graphics card to be fitted! You live & learn...
  9. Hi Allan, just to mention that I still could not race this season at Buxton with the same problem as last season, with the updated track. My pc is onboard graphics which I can't do anything about and it's the only track that won't load, using DX9, tried every graphics setting etc. Glad you managed to get sorted though.
  10. I am shown above Corny in the WCQR chart on the website (43rd & 44th)
  11. Agree with Kane, good meeting with some carnage. . Well done in GN Ricky, enjoy Yellow Top m8
  12. Good racing lads. Pleased to get a 6th in one heat, and nearly got another top 10 till Sije did a quality last bend hit to snatch it The most enjoyable race was the B Final with Ricky in my mirrors for about 10 laps and trying to pass, went for the expected big last bender but I somehow survived, great racing m8
  13. Congratulations Marten on becoming the new European Champion.
  14. Didn't realise you did so well in the Final, Ricko - well done m8 Nice pics too Good to see plenty of positive feedback on this meeting.
  15. Yeh missed you Aza, I didn't have a hare to chase . The feeling's mutual Ricko, really enjoying our battles at the moment in the first few laps before one or both of us messes things up . Sorry for hitting the tyres, Johno, it certainly wasn't intentional . Despite not many points, it wasn't a bad night as I got top tens in the 2 heats I raced, as I managed to miss my other heat as the MI got a late change and I sadly dashed off the pc for some domestic stuff when it was a heat I thought I wasn't in. When there is an all-in Final & GN, I wouldn't generally expect to score, and so it was, although I had a good run in the GN and thought I was going to get a high finish for a while. Stumpy, good to see you type something, I spent most of last week trying to get something out of you as was saying what good races we had had. Stick with it m8, I am certainly enjoying racing with you. As for Lithgow, well you started whacking me and spinning me a couple of times last week when we were well out of the top 10 and I hadn't a clue why, maybe you have done that to others and they are getting you back?! Having said that, you seem to have raced alright with me since so maybe it was some kind of a misunderstanding . Anyway, all you guys who think you are being belted all over the shop, if you keep on driving clean for long enough, people will start to respect you and realise how you drive, and no longer belt you so hard because they don't trust you, so you can start enjoying the racing. I am the slowest guy on the grid every single meeting, but I nearly always get respect when I am being passed (which is most of the race ) because people know I aren't going to follow them in on the next corner. It's worth persevering lads... Thanks to FT for running it, particularly hard when he has to reshuffle because of late changes to the booked in list, and for MadMat for another great effort by stewarding when not racing at all.
  16. This was a tough night, I can't seem to master a fast line round this place, compared to everyone else. At most meetings I feel a lot quicker by the GN than at the start of the meeting, but don't think this was the case last night (especially as there was no GN ) . Well done to Dan, glad to see him retain his title, the black and white roof wouldn't look right on anyone else. Unlucky Mav - it isn't easy to win a B Final, only real quality drivers achieve it - keep trying m8, you might manage it one day I had a couple of highlights of the night, one was a good battle with Stumpy in the second half of a race, even though there were no points on it (not sure he agreed as he stubbornly refused to acknowledge my congratulations, either that or he'd pulled his keyboard out of the USB The other was Matty trying to pass me 'nicely' when I was in 10th, he was just getting me on the last lap when Tom fired in on us both, drag race to the line and it was Tom-Matty-Al...so just missed the top 10, ouch Good fun though... I know what you mean Southy and which car you were on about - seemed determined to spin me even though noone else near, TWICE lol....but he left me alone in a later heat so I figured he didn't mean any harm
  17. Nineteen points for Aza Top driving m8 Disappointing to have to cancel at the last minute, when I couldn't get the track to load even after setting to DirectX9, I did a search on the forum and only then saw how me & Waqar were unable to get the track working last year after the last update to the track, so I knew then I was on a loser. Didn't feel good missing the meeting after expecting to race, but only 5 days till next meeting now. Hope most of you enjoyed it more than Southy.
  18. Yes I changed to DX9 and also changed all my rock bottom Display settings to max, but exactly the same error occurs.
  19. Forgot about this, but it's happening again. Looks like I have to miss out again.
  20. The dizzy heights of 11 points What a brilliant meeting, and well done to Daveyboy, and Spike too. I had some great races, finding myself battling mid pack as I dropped through the field with very fair racing, hits going in but not to end anybody's race, superb stuff Managed to scrape a top 10 in my last heat, then got my best result of the season with a 3rd in the GN, thanks for messing up, everyone else Thanks to the other white tops (and yellows) for some great scraps, and particular mention to Aza
  21. Bleedin' rodder Spike! Who'd have thought it? Not bad for a (very) old'un. Well done to Jnr too Great meeting, Kings Lynn is an awesome track, definitely one of the best - really excellent racing. And very smartly run by Mike & pals - cheers all
  22. Well done MOR, great to see you win after doing the track, very well deserved without a doubt m8 Shame I had to miss this one, would have liked to check the track out but guess I wouldn't have finished (m)any races.
