UKDIRT PAYED MEMBERS ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!
Nick M48 replied to Pedz 212's topic in General Support / Requests
I agree with Dragon, I just don't see what it's going to achieve tbh. At the end of the day when the money is coming out of Kev's pocket I'm happy to go along with whatever he feels is best, I do feel it's about time that UK-Dirt took over paying for it's forum though even though I know that it was Kev's idea to run things as they are and that he is more than happy doing that. -
As has already been said above you cannot use championship mode or qualify at any of UK-Dirts small oval tracks.

Spot on. R.I.P. Richard Burns.

Before installing any new graphics card you should always uninstall your current one and turn all settings such as screen resolution down to their lowest settings before plugging the new one in otherwise windows will try to use the drivers and settings for your old card on the new one which won't necassarily work. Also did you alter the setting we changed in the bios the other day so that it uses AGP instead of PCI? PS. I thought the spec of the PCI graphics card was better than this one anyway?
-
You got the full Nascar heat game or just the essentials pack thing?
-
Does the BIOS not give you a choice between AGP and PCI for your graphics card? Why do you need to reformat?
-
What a nightmare you've had! Is it only the internet that doesn't work on the desktop pc, is the actual network working ok, can you connect to the other computers on the network?
-
Make sure the new card is seated correctly, they can need quite a push sometimes, but be careful not to push so hard that you break the motherbord!
-
As Yorick says, you get the 'keep alive timeout' if you minimise the nascar heat window whilst racing online, one possible reason for your problem could be that you have a spyware pop-up or an automatic update or something like that that is very briefly interupting nascar Heat, it's just an idea, try running Ad-aware etc
-
If you export the model as a .3ds from version 5 it should import into version 3 without too many problems.
-
The reason we have to use version 3 of max is because thats the only version that the Nascar Heat exporter works with. If you are serious and can prove it to admin maybe they'll add you to our editing section, One of the best places to look for answers to Heat editing questions is here although the website appears to be down at the moment.

There's a possibility that your hard disk could be on its way out, so the 1st thing to do is backup your important stuff asap. The boot sector is as the name suggests the part of the disc that handles everything to do with booting up your pc if it gets corrupted then your pc will not boot up, It could be that your hard disk is perfectly healthy and that the initial crash damaged the boot sector part of the disk. I personally would buy a new hard disk re-install windows, copy all my files from the old disk to the new one and keep the old disk as a slave, but it's up to you I have alot of stuff on mine that I would not want to risk losing. If you don't want to buy a new disk and you still keep having problems then I guess you need to backup all your stuff to DVD or CD and re-install windows hoping that the disk is physically ok and it was just a few corrupted files.

Yeah I think it was last year, the man is a genius. There's still talk of him switching to F1 he has nothing more to prove in MotoGP thats for sure.
-
If he drives the F1 even half as good as he rides a bike he'd still win even driving from there!

I saw this article in the sun paper the other week and I too felt sickened by it, I signed the petition straight away, I have heard since that some people have been arrested over it, lets just hope that they get exactly the same thing done to them as they've done to the poor animals, The woman on the news the last couple of days that killed her cat by putting it in a washing machine IMO should be put in a washing machine herself to see how she likes it! There's no excuse for animal cruelty.

I have a linksys router here and can race ok via a wireless connection to my laptop, try making sure that any firewall is switched off see if that helps.

yes nick My memory is very sketchy about carmageddon as it's been a while since I did any modelling for it but if you haven't already got it download Plaything2 from one of the carma sites, that will alow you to open .dat files, I can't remember whether it allows you to export .3ds files though and if it does it may not export the mapping with it. I have all of my carma2 stuff on cd somewhere so if you get stuck give me a shout and I'll try to search it out.
-
What are the .dat files from, Carmageddon?
-
Thanks everybody Yes Mick, the older you get the better gangster you make! only problem is I forget where I put me sawn-off!

I'd like to see the UK-Dirt website improved, as it is at the moment it does exactly what it was designed to do, all the technical stuff like booking in, skin uploads etc, A huge credit to JamieG for that but I'd like to see it 'looking' nicer with maybe UK-Dirt news on the home page, a proper FAQ page with answers to common questions regarding joining UK-Dirt and getting it running on a pc. I'd also like to see a section on each mod with screen shots and renders. I know that the admin team are very busy but maybe they could ask some members to help, I'm sure there are some willing volunteers.

Yeah Mildo was done by Bozz.
