  1. and finally.......many congratulations to Hutch for taking the RFC Championship win well done m8
  2. Thanks took me a while to make sure i got all my spacings right for the writting on the sides. Also sorry wrighty but you will have to update my car now for real life racing pmsl , the bonnet, boot, scuttle pan and spoiler i can not take credit for as they were ok so left them with dan klyns work on as he makes a realy nice job but i done the sides, lights roof and name plate. I will post pics up of the other side when i have done it. looks excellent m8, cant wait for the pics, i'll do the necessaries
  3. its possible m8, i always used to install the mods properly then copy the skins & setups back in by hand, i have a feeling the problem may be in copying the mod over rather than installing......
  4. Hi Jamesy, After all of the problems we had with Pipex here, I had a gander through the customer survey sites and found Fast Broadband to be highly spoken of. The connection was switched over swiftly, customer support was excellent and on an 8mb package about 3 miles from the exchange i get between 4 and 5mb most of the time . It is a capped package but i'm on (i think) the 15gb/month and we've never got anywhere near it with 'normal' usage (i.e. 2 pc here connected and usually working all bloody day lol)
  5. nice to see these getting another run out . On the subject of setups, don't forget there was a setup pack available with the mod, courtesy of Rusty T Bass which included setups for 90% of the UK tracks that were available....should be a good level playing field for u all
  6. how can u have that much crap on your desktop and STILL have a folder called 'unused desktop....' (i assume it's) shortcuts?!?!?! i had a good look round that at the NEC, some lovely engineering on it
  7. you are extracting the track folder from the rar and then copying that folder into locations arent you? I had one guy had a similar query recently and he was just dropping the rar file into locations without extracting....the game won't see the track files that way.... just in case rsvp
  8. spybot search and destroy m8, works for me (sorry I cant link it, the pc here at work doesnt do popups lol but Google it, it's decent)
  9. can't be done i don't think m8, if you're saving as a jpeg it has to fill all of the blank space (i.e. the background) so you'll always have a white background....one option might be to set the background to the background colour u need for the application rather than white
  10. fixing's easy m8, dump em (check whether you're mid-contract mind, they use a 12 month contract and if u cancel early they try and claim the balance....) i used Traceroute Express to check the connection to the rfactor matchmaker, but u can type in web addresses or (to test Jolt or the new servers) u can type in an IP address. The trace then shows what route your connection takes and times the pings.....what I found on the trace was that servers were disappearing and reappearing in the system and the pings to server were lost, hence I got booted.....try it, see what the results are then dump em
  11. Hi Paul, Firstly, the 6 different links are for the same files in different locations, but are basically all the same files...If you have problems with downloads, try the 2-part, but if not any of those should be fine for you. The low-res skins is available if your pc is a lower spec but try the main install first....if the screen is jumpy or you don't get good FPS then add the low-res skins in to solve this. Finally, re: online vs offline play, the game is great for both.....when you install the mod, start the game (and watch Splinters excellent intro video), then go to player and select the 'real' F1s rather than the 'league cars' for best offline play featuring all of the real cars and skins...... enjoy .......... Wrighty
  12. its a Beemer m8......except it's half a beemer, that was wall-mounted with (i think) nowt round the back, so more of an eye-grabber, i'm not sure how nimble it would be compared to the current rods (like the cc and tigra).
  13. lol erse, if that was any good for you i can send it again later today
  14. you need to have rfactor installed first, the F1s is just ('just' lol) a mod....select F1s in rf in the player screen
  15. Mine.....well, Drumbs really but a gr8 render
  16. Key to the door and all that best wishes m8
  17. gotta be talking 5 figures for those two......fancy sponsoring an F2 Dode?
  18. i'd second that, the mod launcher's a fantastic tool
  19. Looking in that rfactor config option, you can play it in a window instead of full screen - is this a bad idea in terms of using pc resources though? Does everyone play on full screen? I don't know anyone that plays it in a window. It has to slow is down as it is not only redrawing the game every frame but part of the desktop as well sorry al missed your post it might be worth a try drumb, i've seen lots of pc games (usually cheap puzzlers that the missus plays) that play much better in a window than full screen coz while it's got desktop visible at 1024x768 it's only redrawing the game at 800x600 (usually) so it might help al, but if it does it sounds like yr systems struggling with it. I'd trying setting it to dx8 first al and leaving it on full screen (if the dx in rfconfig is set to dx9 or auto)....is yours struggling to play or not playing at all btw? u didnt mention.
  20. dump pipex m8, they've changed policy this year on how their traffic is handled and they're now prioritising web-based traffic (http) over 'pings'. I spent 6 weeks arguing with their technical support to try and identify why i kept getting booted from servers (rfactor and shot-online golf had the same problem) but their justification was that 'its what their customers want' despite the fact that by prioritising http over ping requests they're basically shafting anyone who uses them as an ISP for gaming. They've been rolling this system out across their network of servers since early 2007t and I'm afraid they're not going to change this policy anytime soon...and they don't let you know when your server gets updated, so the only knowledge you'll have is getting booted from servers all of a sudden. I know of at least 3 people who've had the same problem (getting booted from online game servers) and you're another. Contact pipex and find out how much you have left on your contract m8, I have a feeling the problems you're having with your router isn't down to the router, i'm 99% certain its your ISP. You can try this if you want, it's a free tool called Traceroute Express and it gives you routing info to any site to check the hops from you to them .... pm me yr msn address if you require any further assistance
  21. in your start>all programs list you'll find a section for rfactor and one of the options in there is to rfactor config - check your graphics settings as u need them, theres some of the settings in there that (i think) u cant change in-game, including which dx it runs to etc.
  22. lol i've been using a netgear DG834 for 3 years here and it's been ultra-reliable
  23. added u to msn m8, its an odd one but giz a ping plz
  24. given the skins that are listed as files not found, I'd assume this is the UKDirt rods mod yes micky? You need a ui.res in your run folder from another mod to get the rods installer to run.... any ui.res will do but if you've used NHessentials to install heat you may have the problem with no included UI, depending on where you got Essentials from. To fix, get a ui.res from any mod folder (note, this is the actual res file, not a folder called ui that u find in mod folders, they're not the same thing, the UI.res files are often from 10 to 30mb in size), copy it, paste it into your 'run' folder, delete the ukdirtrods folder and reinstall the ukdirt rods, mod files and updates first, then skinpacks last. Let us know if u solve it plz
  25. nah he's no good for that m8, he's held down a job for over 2 years
