it looks like your firewall is blocking the return ping from the server.....often it sees a non-reply as 'ping too high'. What firewall do you use on your pc and/or hub/router? There are different fixes depending on your firewall setup.

hi jake, looks like you've copied the ui.res into run but maybe havent rerun the bangers installer. Your best bet (if the ui.res IS already in the run folder) is to delete all of the banger folders inside the nascar heat folder and do a 'clean' reinstall. Don't forget tho, you need to have that ui.res in 'run' before you do the banger install

you shouldnt need to turn the firewall off in the hub (if it has one, I presume it will have as BT tend to blare on incessantly about their home security in the ads lol), Nascar Heat uses (i think) port 2001 for online games, and you should be able to allow 2-way access through that port only in the hub settings (we've got a netgear router here which has the ports for RF allowed in the same way, that way the firewall blocks all of the general nasties, but ports for RF are set to not have firewall protection) if you can log into the hub, look for port settings

i often find after a reduction from 1024 to 512 that a slight sharpening helps (i.e. use the sharpness tool on the tga before u convert to .tex)

hi Jake, I've had a scout about and found This UI.res at Texas Speed Racing, so download that, then unzip the file and copy the ui.res enclosed into your run folder as detailed in the first reply, then reinstall the bangers. Should do the trick , let me know plz cheers .......... Wrighty

hmmm sry can't help then m8, thought they were valid download links last time i checked. In essence you need a Heat mod that includes its own UI, or borrow someone's UI via msn

yep Erik's right m8, the 'right way' is dictated by the AI path from pit to track, which I think FreeW's had to do as a big loop in the pit area so the Ai are all nicely in line by the time they get to the pit gate..... if you take a shorter route, it flags up as 'wrong way'

its an odd one m8, I had the same problem at Ippy a couple of weeks back, went through the controller settings and everything worked after that but I saved the settings to a new pad setup file just in case.

you need a file called ui.res .......... you can go to Ovalrace and download and then install the rods v1 and v2 ..... you'll find a UI.res in there. Copy that to your 'run' folder in nascar heat (c:/program files/hasbro interactive/nascar heat/run) and then re-run the banger installer.....it needs a UI to be in Run otherwise it doesn't install properly, so get the rods files, then copy the UI.res to your run folder, then re-install the bangers, all should be fine

erm i didn't have a problem, he came in late and didn't get chance to set up so maybe a tad harsh but i'm sure Erik's learning slowly Track seems excellent Jeff, great work, especially the new rumble strips....just enough to deter people cutting the apex without flipping the car up and out of control. I'll have a quick blast in the other direction tonight and drop you a note.
