I didn't/couldn't race last night, but from what I've heard I'm glad I didn't. This is a shame becuase if somebody like me who is already well impressed by the game thinks that, then any stock car fan looking for a realistic simulation sure as hell won't want to try it. I can't comment on the standards from last night but I can certainly imagine what they might have been like looking at a few drivers on the booking list and they're usual mentality within ukdirt. I don't see why rFactor shouldn't bring a change of culture to UKDirt tbh, it IS a simulator, therefore it should be raced as one. Anybody wishing to play a game where they can flat out hit people, please go back to heat, rFactor isn't the game for you. I have personally pretty much completely lost interest with nascar heat, due to the amount of idiots racing the league these days who have no respect for anybody on track. At the end of the day, it is a game but most drivers race it becuase its the closest thing to driving the real thing if you can't afford it, and people would want to drive it realiticly as a simulator, otherwise we might as well stay with heat. I think perhaps a trial for new drivers might be a good thing, maybe not so much 5 laps as you don't know what they're attitude to racing is, but maybe a trial meeting to see if they have respect for other drivers on track ie not OTT hits or reversing out into traffic etc. Hopefully I will be back next week and hopefully normal service will have been resumed.

After my recent problems, I've gone round a friends house, installed rFactor, but now its asking me for an activation code which apparently I've run out of? What do I do now? Thanks Kruiz

And who is gonna ay my bills and every other persons bills who rely on their cars or motorbikes to get them to work in the morning if they took the actions you mentioned kruiz as i for 1 aint prepared to walk a 20+ mile round trip to work every day till something gets done about the fuel prices. Yes samson I do realise people use transport to get to work...thats the point, it would only take 2 or 3 days for the government to get the idea, if nobody used their vehicles or went to work. Still, it won't happen.. Parky posted about the french.. thats what I was getting at, it works there why not here?

Not sure what to give an England fan for Christmas?

Kruiz 136 booking in Hardest shot in my college, shame I have no control on where it goes... lol -
As a nation we should do something collectively, for example.....everybody not use any transport where fuel taxes are in place until taxes are dropped. That should bring Britain to a suitable sand still enough to make the government take notice, but of course it will never happen, as 90% of this country are people who don't give a toss and will do as the government say everytime.

Good write up Biffo I went to the crash-a-rama a few years ago at the very same one you did. Have to say I didn't think much of it, nothing special, it was more for the TV camera's than the corwod, and the racing was a bit tame. When I was there, we didn't stay for either DD's, but there was also a roll over event, a reverse mini van race, and a school bus chain race. As you can imagine after 2 laps all the chains had snapped, a bit pointless really. The flag-pole race was my personal favorite when I was there. On the way we saw some impressive looking dirt cars, they looked like open wheel grass track cars crossed with Long nosed dragsters. We ended up wishing we had seem them instead as we think they were just down the road from the crash-a-rama as we saw an awful lot of dust kicked up coming from not very far away.

Yes drumb, it brings up the windows button etc, but only for 10-20 seconds then disapears again. It does the same thing when I first boot it up. The computer is 3 years old this christmas, and is a Dell. The alarming noise stopped last night, but still becomes very noisy and very very slow when loading something up. I can access all my files through the task manager, by clicking new task. I have found out that my hard drive is a Maxtor 160GB. I ran a diagnotics test on the hard drive using the utility mode, and it after about 3 hours of searching, it brought up 7 or 8 blocks of 'unrepairable errors'. I assume this means the hard drive is in fact corrupt. I can still access things such as Windows media player, AOL and even rFactor through the task manager, but when I play videos, they don't work very well, all the colours are bright blues, green yellows etc. I don't know what this has to got to do with the hard drive, but I assume it must be linked. Also, sorry if it takes aw while to reply, as I can now only access the internet from college as it freezes up on mine when i load a website up. I already have 3 windows names and the same thing happens on them all also it happens in safe mode., but I will try and create another one anyway. Thanks for the help so far guys, much appreciated.

I have jst found that I can access all the files on my HD form the windows task manager by using the browse option. It is a lot slower than normal, but they are all there. Is this normal if the HD has broken? Thanks Kruiz

Thanks for the advice guys, thats the second hard drive I've broken now, in 4 years, any reason why this migh be? I've reinstalled windows, but nothing changed, I might try a reformat but by the sounds of it it probably is a hard drive problem. My last one was 145GB, but I only had about 35GB on it... although its never been cleaned in its 4 year life, so maybe it overheated? I will beg my dad for a new one for xmas lol. Any ideas what I need to be looking for? Are there different types etc for different types of motherboards? Thanks for the responses guys, Kruiz P.S it was very noisy for the first 30 mins - 1 hour of breaking, but now its silent again, like it should ll be fine.

Superb, video m8. I had a great race with Allan, and the traffic was a nightmare to get through, but it sure makes good watching I tried to get some donuts in and the end but ballsed it up slightly as a forgot about the big kerb lol. I did however put a hit Allan, without spinning out or even losing shape of the car, so it can be done, if you know/learn how to. It seems my computer has gone into shock since me winning a final as it seems the hard drive has died, which means its very unlkely I'll be doing any racing or even have a computer before next season, as I have absolutely no money to fix it after spending this years savings on upgrades (Graphics card, RAM, Steering wheel). Having said that I'm glad I have the MS FFB Sidewinder has certainly paid off, with this being just my 3rd meeting with it, and it only cost me £20.50 inc p&p from ebay. Its a hell of a lot better than a pad. Thanks, Kruiz

Right, I've just started my computer up and the start menu, task bar & system tray have completely disappeared from my computer. The desktop background is there, but I can't right click it etc. I can open the the windows task manager, but thats about it, nothin else works. I managed to get to the system restore page, but there are no earlier restore points, its as if its lost its memory or something. Worse still, it is constantly whirring noisily and sounds as if its loading something up, hopefully thats not the sign of hackers?? I would reformat but I don't really want to lose all my data, is there any other way? Thanks, from a very worried Kruiz

Thanks everyone I didn't know what lap it was either Allan, I didn't even have the rev-meter, lap counter or position tracker up as it slows my PC down, soI didn't know when to make my move lol. I had more lag than ever tonight since I downloaded real feel. It seemed to make a difference though, as I actually felt fast and consistant for the first time. It only comes with practise though, as Drumbstick told me. I racked up over 1500 laps this weekend alone at Fareham. Great race in the final with you Allan, top stuff and well done on top scoring . I don't think tonights track was the best as has been already said, it lends itself to big hits and pile-ups. Hopefully the new graphics card should arrive soon then I can view the game with something better than all settings off/low and in 800x600, and still tons of lag lol. Thanks Kruiz

I don't think TGG has been around recently, but any idea when the hi-res version might be available? -
Did it download much more quickly than it you would expect it to take? If so it could be that its still saved as a temporary file, in which case run CCcleaner, then download again and you will get a fresh version.

Told you to redownload it Radz Links to tracks are on the fixture list located here: http://forum.kev149.com/index.php?showtopic=25866 Enjoy lads Kruiz

Thats what I told him to do, but hes not the most computer literate of people. When I was speaking to him on msn, I said go to the control panel, windows firewall, and tick the box next to nascarheat.exe which should allow it, but he couldn't find the control panel..... apparently its not in the windows start pane, which led me to believe Windows ME is different in some way? Although I wouldn't rule out, it actually being there..

My first win! It had to be against the mushrooms aswell That win takes the worst team defensively, well, nowhere tbh, still rock bottom. Just seen the match report, I came from 3-2 down to win 5-3 in 3 minutes lol, scored on 90th, 91st & the 92nd minute of the game. -
